We have decided to change the Teams page to be the Liverpool Match Posts page, so look for posts talking about the latest Liverpool match there.

But most of the posts still go to the Liverpool Banter page.

Also more posts are being added to the Liverpool Discussion Posts and the More Liverpool Posts pages.

People saying about Adrian now our injured? Bloody hell we've certainly been in the wrong end of injuries already in the early stages of the season. Allison Keita and now Adrian.

Ed001 do you no the seriousness of Adrian's injury please? Is he definitely out or a doubt. We're down to the bare bones of a 36yo 3rd choice or a young lad in Keleher?

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea I am out and on my phone, I am not in touch with anything sorry.}

Kloppo said he needs to be assessed in the morning, it was swollen yesterday and has improved. But it won't be definite till tomorrow.

Some fan ran onto the pitch with the celebrations and collided with him he’s a swollen ankle 🤦🏻‍♂️.

Idiots who think it's OK to pitch invade need to get a grip. Not just because of this incident but because of the security issue, as well as it making our fans and by association our club look bad. Klopp apparently said that fans also invaded the pitch at the Norwich game and the City game. It needs knocking on the head, and I don't see why life bans aren't dished out by the club for this sort of behaviour. Set a precedent and it'll stop soon enough.

Seano, with the game being in Turkey there is the potential that it isn’t a regular visitor to Anfield.

Problem is there are plenty of idiots that want a minute of fame. loOk at the lass in the final, no intention to go to another game and got publicity by being all over the news. Tv cameras are starting to get the right idea and as soon as someone is seen pan to someone else.

If they stop being seen, it’ll be eradicated as it negates the point in doing it.

If that was a tackle during the match we'd be calling it a potentially career ending tackle lol crazy man.

Also when someone is out I get excited for whoever is next coming in!

17 Aug 2019 04:11:07
Maybe WYRed but what about the Norwich game and City game one of our fans invaded the pitch then? This is clearly not an isolated incident and is something the club should clamp down on - tired of idiots ruining it for other and now, in this case, potentially ruining it for an actual player.

17 Aug 2019 19:42:26
Not the point 1jj, fans acting like arses should be punished by the club as a deterrent for other arses. It's sad that they need to do that but it seems it's the only thing within their mandate to do.

Adrian was injured by a fan who was being chased by security. He slipped and 2 footed Adrian. Doubtful for tomorrow.

Looks like we won't see Keita until after the international break.

Ed001 have we ever shown any interest in psv pair Hirving Lozano and Steven Bergwijn and what do you think about the pair of them .

{Ed001's Note - no and neither look good enough to me.}

15 Aug 2019 12:36:32
ED1- was it not yourself who championed Lozano for a while? Or was that ED2?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - I don't know. I did think he might be a decent bet after seeing a few performances, but I don't remember recommending him for Liverpool. He looks very good when you watch a game, but if you sit and watch him play, like I did recently for his profile, his flaws are massively evident.}

15 Aug 2019 20:36:38
Sometimes you have to watch a player closely to make a proper judgement. I had non- Liverpool (and Liverpool) fans who used to think Luis Garcia was amazing, I personally found him infuriating to watch, similarly it’s the opposite with Firmino.

Hello Ed001,

I just read from a Facebook group that Ryan Kent has removed all photos of him as a Liverpool player on social media as well as unfollowed the club. Also that he's absolutely pissed up that the club has effectively priced him out of a move. Now, I'm sure I once read you're not a big fan of social media and stuff but can you confirm the latter part? And what do you make of all this?

Cheers.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed001's Note - he is unhappy at still being at the club yes. He wanted to go back up to Rangers. No idea about the photos, but I do know he has been posting cryptic messages having a dig at the club. I just don't get it, he is not good enough to mess about with. Take what you can get and get rid. He is never going to make our first team, so let him go and launch his career elsewhere.}

13 Aug 2019 21:34:28
Thanks for the swift response Ed! Hope this is sorted out quickly. A move abroad, perhaps?

{Ed001's Note - Rangers can still sign players, the Scottish window is not closed yet.}

14 Aug 2019 11:20:24
Rangers have signed Brandon Parker, assuming that was the other option to Kent.

I would be very surprised if he still was with us by the end of the window.

14 Aug 2019 12:24:47
ed001 for the scotish young player of the year is 7m to much to ask if he was there player after getting the young player of the year what value would they put on him if so club come calling. my be we should have given him another loan, that will help him grow as a player but if that is was we value him at why should we just letting him go.

Agree1 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - it is not exactly a large pool of talent he was competing with mate.}

14 Aug 2019 13:08:50
If rumours are right, Ryan Kent should focus his anger at Rangers and SG as they have not seen fit to bid for someone who had an asking price dropped from £15m to £7m. and my understanding is that LFC is willing to accept £5m with add-ons.

Agree5 0Disagree

14 Aug 2019 13:23:50
Ed001 I know there is not a lot off good players up there but the Scottish teams seem to won’t top prices for there players when selling but never expect to pay anything when buying well Celtic and rangers do any way and just bully every team up there and get there players for next to nothing. But I do think the club should have given him another loan he seemed to get better as the season went in so as long as they was paying all his wages it would have only benefited all 3 parties.

Agree2 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - Rangers have only just recently got back on their feet, it is not bullying to not want to overpay.}

14 Aug 2019 16:01:53
Liverpool should loan him out at the very least. The club wanted to sell Wilson and Kent. They didn't sell either but only Wilson gets to go out on loan? Seems weird to me, makes no sense to keep him.

Agree1 0Disagree

15 Aug 2019 00:13:33
Wilson got loaned to Bournemouth a PL team who play a system to suit his style, Brooks flourished in that role last season and injured for a few months, was a great fit for Wilson to move there.

No point in a random loan if it doesn't benefit, Kent showed his standard at rangers last year, we've set our price, another loan means he's a year older and a year less on his contract, why just give him back on loan to them? We're right to seek a permanent transfer at a fair fee.

Wilson's loan is a fresh upgrade in standard of quality team/ league. loaning Kent again to SPL would be of little benefit realistically.

Agree0 0Disagree

15 Aug 2019 21:16:28
Ed do you think Wilson was sent to Bournemouth as a token geasture for robbing them blind for Ibe and Smith 😆😆.

{Ed001's Note - haaha no.}

Solanke for 20 mil too. Those 3 combined for 40+million is atrocious business from Bournemouth 😂.

Keita can't seem to catch any luck with injuries. Playing for in AFCON when he clearly wasn't fit was a poor decision on the players behalf IMO, and perhaps that contributed towards this injury.

Ed002, question about Lovren.

Lovren is most likely on high wages and LFC probably will demand a decent fee for him.

Will LFC actively be looking to move him on right now and which teams have an interest in him?

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Roma are looking for a deal. They will ideally look for a loan to buy.}

13 Aug 2019 13:02:55
If it had to be a loan to buy then I do not see LFC agreeing to such a deal unless the loan fee had to be a substantial amount. Lovren still has 3 years left on his contract if I am not mistaken. Surely only a permanent deal going to suffice?

Agree3 0Disagree

13 Aug 2019 15:56:23
Two years I believe Max.

13 Aug 2019 16:13:17
Ed002 would it be like Danny ings deal last year or a loan with the option to buy.
If so can’t see us accepting that sure with had that before with Alberto Aquilani and that did not work out very good for us.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - They will look to a loan with an obligation to buy.}

13 Aug 2019 18:29:15
Jeez, Aquilani. Remember him?!

Agree2 0Disagree

13 Aug 2019 18:02:51
What is the point of a loan with obligation to buy? I assume the only benefit is to delay the payment?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - No, they could look to spread payments out. They may want assurances about fitness - like Ings.}

13 Aug 2019 18:58:35
So it’s an obligation to buy with clauses ed? Like if he’s fit 75% of the time or something?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - It was an example. I am sure if Roma are keen enough they will look to a permanent deal.}

13 Aug 2019 19:41:43
ed002 do you think deals like this will become more likely going forward (a loan with a conditional obligation to buy) .

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - No more so than they are now.}

13 Aug 2019 20:38:33
It makes no sporting sense to sell him now IMO but it does make good financial sense, and the player gets to play regular football.

Agree2 0Disagree

15 Aug 2019 00:31:34
I remember about 2 years ago he got a new contract and fans in general were scathing the decision.
We should respect the fact that our 30 year old 4th choice defender can now gain us a potential nice fee as opposed to having left on a free transfer, same with the few fans criticising origis new deal even though it's great business.

If lovren goes to Italy I'd think he'd do very well, Italian football would suit his strengths where English football was often able to hammer his weaknesses. Playing in deeper lines and facing less paced attacks he's proved to be a great defender, his struggles always came when the ball was put in behind.

I'd rather we kept him for another year but if the right opportunity came calling for him he'd be right to take it, he's good enough to start every week for at least one of the top 4 club in each of the 5 major European league's. He's well slipped behind matip and Gomez now though.

Agree0 0Disagree

13 Aug 2019 11:47:55
Hello Ed's i was wondering if there has been any contact with Matip about a new deal?

is it a case we have one on the table and he doesn't want to sign or we just haven't offered one yet?

cheers.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed001's Note - I don't know of one being offered to him yet, I am not 100% sure on that though.}

13 Aug 2019 18:36:16
ed001 is matip not in his last year if so the club seem to be moving abit slow on this one.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - I am sure they know what they are doing.}

13 Aug 2019 20:41:09
Matips' contract ends next summer. I am not sure if he has an option to extend the deal by a further year, but maybe the player is waiting to see if he will be first choice while the club looking to see if Gomez can cement his place in the starting eleven, before making any decision?

Agree1 0Disagree

14 Aug 2019 09:02:10
Hopefully a new deal can be sorted, he was excellent alongside VVD last year.

Agree0 0Disagree

15 Aug 2019 00:47:57
Similar with wijnaldum I feel, the club could simply be letting these guys earn their contract, 6 months ago matip was well out of favour, can't just throw him another 4 year extension when he's only proven good enough standard for 6 months over the last 3 seasons.

Gini too has improved and proven his worth but into his late 20s the club might be wanting him to show he can keep the high level to warrant it.

We've seen with likes of lallana, sturridge that guys can have a great season but then steal wages for 3 or 4 seasons. Matip and gini probably won't have offers from more exciting squads than us right now so let them prove they are worthy of an upgraded deal, no rush on our behalf.

Origi was far off being offered a long contract a couple of months ago and with just a year left he stepped up and earned his new deal but he's still young while matip and wiji are at the stage where a 4/ 5 year contract sees them past their peak, caution and patience can't be questioned.
