Got to give credit to Everton. Yes we were awful but Everton outfought and outclassed us across 90 minutes.

If they played like that across a whole season. Relegation wouldn't ever be a worry.

Said to Ed025 they’d probably beat us just by their fighting spirit and determination. We offered none of that.

{Ed025's Note - you did VV. I must admit I did not expect that Liverpool ten to turn up mate..

Lots of big reactions after last nights results which is understandable everybody was hoping for so much but I do think we have over achieved this season when you look at our squad compared to Arsenal and City. That’s not to say we shouldn’t have taken our opportunity when it presented itself but over the course of a season the best team 99% of the team win!

In my eyes coming into this season we were in desperate need of a quality CB and DM and we did not address these areas, look at Arsenal they needed a DM and went and got Rice while we got Endo. People will argue that we bid for Caicedo but we don’t get him and if we truely wanted him then that is a failing on the club.

Time and time again we have had to come from behind to rescue results and that is not sustainable, teams who win titles need resilience but they also need a decent defence and don’t give away cheap goals as this heaps pressure on the forward line to score more and more goals to get a result. I am not seeking to absolve our attackers who have been poor and lacked composure in front of goal but huge criticism has to aimed at our setup, tactics and game management as giving any team in the premier league a goal or two lead before you start to play is criminal and this has happened far too often for it to be a coincidence.

Big changes are afoot and for me that is a positive, not bashing Klopp he has been a revelation for our club and returned pride to the club but that does not detract from the fact that we need new fresh directions and I for one am looking forward to it once FSG back the new manager akin to how Arteta has been backed at Arsenal.

Another cb would not of made a difference to Alison, Trent, Robbo and simikas being out for months. Even Matip and konate. How many midfielders did we have out too? Was it jones szob and grav . A cb and dm wouldn’t of fixed that especially if they would of got injured.

It was annoyingly frustrated and alarming for me. Because I saw bad first touches loosing possession. Short passes hit to short. Falling into the trap of giving away cheap free kicks giving them the set piece chances they wanted, yea some are debatable but personally klopp in the 4th officials ear was probably more anger at his players for falling for it. These are the basic things, its lack of focus. One thing I notice which some may disagree with, where we historically move the ball side to side with deep defensive teams patiently waiting for a gap to play though, as much as I love Trent it seems the ball is moved to him and his looking for that killer pass every-time and it slows things down and is predictable, granted he did find it a couple of times and the finishing was terrible but it seems less moving the ball side to side and more to Trent. pause. look for killer ball, then back no real width. But I was more surprised we got the simple things wrong, control, passing and falling into the trap of conceding cheap free kicks in areas they were a danger. that's just concentration and focus, and I don't know the answer to that tbh. and even with all that, better finishing and we still could of winged it. tiredness I will never buy into for any footballer no excuse. But a lack of concentration getting the simple things wrong that's a worry.

Good morning Ed's and my fellow Reds, one thing I have come to take note of is the fact that since that first leg against Atalanta at Anfield where we lost woefully, we have not been able to recover from that, due to the way they (Atalanta) outplayed us with their man marking tactics, Every other teams we have played since then have applied said tactics against us, and we have been unable to cope with it ( bar the Fulham game which I personally thought was a fluke result), this is where I think the problem stems from, what are your thoughts ladies and gentlemen.

Players were poor last night, no fight and a lack of energy and in general many poor performances.

However the tactics over the last 5 or 6 games seem woeful. Passing the ball square across the back. I lost count of how many times VVD and Konate played the ball forward into the midfield ( to Macalister and TTA) only for them to knock the ball straight back to them.

Same happened when the ball played out to the deep wide player - ball comes straight backwards to the centre backs.

Was it me but there seemed numerous occasions when the there were wide forward players available for the quick pass but the ball was never played to them.

Same trouble in midfield when the ball was being played straight backwards and no-one trying to turn and play forward.

I'm not going to blame players or Klopp and the coaches as I don't know if the play is driven by Klopp and the coaches or the players.

Likewise not going to blame player performances (as poor as they have been) but we haven't looked like we have a clue how to play forward anymore with any pace or any idea how we are going to create.

I actually feel a surprising sense of calm and release today. Like you feel when something that has been causing you stress is removed.

The Utd match (league) made me frustrated and angry in a way I haven't felt watching Liverpool for years. I felt the writing was on the wall at the point but the Palace match really hammered it home. Last night was really just the final confirmation. I can move on now from the thought that we might have won another league title. Come back in August with excitement for the start of a new era.

Have a good summer, everyone.

that match last night was a very fair reflection of how we have played recently. It actually started in the second half of the cup match v Man Utd. We have been strolling round really arrogantly and stuck in this ultra slow "pass it round the back endlessly" football style. It just doesn't suit us at all. I like a bit of arrogance - but last night TAA was literally walking round from the first minute. It really sets the tone (which I think is one of the most important things in sport - not just footy) and invites the opposition to get stuck right in - which is exactly what happened last night. We were well beaten by a team with a better attitude and better players on the night. We have exceeded expectations this year . but having got into such a great position it is sickening that it has been self-inflicted that we have thrown things away. I love Klopp to bits but we actually look like we need some new ideas and way of playing. #YNWA.

I actually agree with you Red Stan.

I love Klopp to bits myself and what he has done has been amazing but I do think now is the time for new ideas and a new way to play.

If Klopp is tired (and I can understand that) then he's right to chose to go. Unfortunately the slow "pass it around the back" style has been there for weeks now and we simply don't seem to know how to play forward and attack or how we are going to create chances anymore.

Whether that's down to Klopp and the coaches or the players I don' know but now looks a good time for input of new ideas.

I agree Stan, the style of football isn't 'liverpool football ' that's the killer for me. I didn't think we would win league at any stage this season but I can't believe we haven't died with our boots.
It's not the results that's the sickener it's the performances, u could fall asleep watching us .
Management + players both collectively and individually have been awful.

Absolutely disappointed the lads who showed bite on the weekend and the desire that they should be starting just got benched for the players who need a kick up the arse.

When that lineup came out I thought we were done for.

Understand that Jota and Gakpo couldn't play, but Grav, Harvey, Endo and Quansah all should have started in my eyes.
