I think we are in good shape after that performance yesterday. Let's get a good result down at Plymouth now with a nice balance to the side!

Who would you pick (players/ team) with Swansea early on Saturday morning. Just thinking about the draw yesterday looks great if we win our next league game.

We need ANFIELD to rock for everyone to lift the team up until we get all players back fit and 100% again.

Rumour Matip will be played - not a bad idea as will force Cameroon/ FA to make a decision and any potential negative impact would only impact early round FA cup rather than potential points deducted from PL

In addition I'd play Gomez at CB, Moreno, Karius and not sure if Clyne still injured, but if so perhaps Macguire?

For mIdfield I hope we can play Stewart, Grujic and 1 senior (pref either Llalana or Wijnaldum depending on how exhausted post Man Utd), but if Matip not fit Ejaria again.

Upfront would like to see Woodburn, Sturridge and Ojo with Wilson or Origi coming on as subs.

It is rumoured that Trent-Arnold could start today as Clyne has picked up a knock. Huge day for the youngster, if true.

hi hope everyone is well, just wondering peoples opinions on how klopp will approach team selection for the FA cup replay?

Personally i would like to see a just as youthful team selected. even though the performance wasn't great I'm sure yesterday was a huge learning curve for them, and think an away tie at a bouncing lower league ground with our fantastic away support cheering them on would be a great opportunity for further gametime for the likes of Woodburn, TAA, Gomez etc

Would also love for Grujic to be fit for the return as I am excited to see more of him after a solid pre-season, does anyone know the timescale for his recovery as I haven't seen much about it in the media

I'd go with the same team although perhaps Sturridge and Llalana rather than Origi and Can to add a bit more zip and creativity amongst the senior contingent to unlock Plymouth's defence. Llalana is also a bit more dangerous if they sit too deep and capable of scoring from distance.

If Grujic is fit, I'd also like to see him given a shot over Ejaria but not because Ejaria was particularly poor, just think Grujic is more dangerous going forward and deserves a shot. He looked a bit more confident and ready for the first team in preseason IMO.

{Ed002's Note - So not the same team at all then?}

Fair play Ed haha!

Late in the day but our team today:

So, onwards and upwards, we've got two cup games coming up, who would you like to see get a game?

I think a strong team mid-week is in order but a squad/ youth team would be a good idea against League 2's Plymouth. Karius back in goal (for both games), Moreno and A-A at full back, Lucas and Gomez (if fit) in the middle with Stewart protecting them. Woodburn and Ojo (also if fit) take the wings with Can and Ejaria playing behind Origi. Good mix of experience and youth I'd say.

Working backwards we need to play our best team fresh against the Mancs, we should probably play a relatively defensive setup vs Southampton (a draw to bring home to Anfield would be a decent result) and against Plymouth we should use a mix of experience and youth. Here goes my picks.

Plymouth :
TAA - Lucas - Klavan - Moreno
Can - Stewart - Ejaria
Ojo - Origi - Woodburn

Hopefully Grujic is fit enough to sub on for a bit

Southampton (injuries permitting) :
Clyne - Matip - Lovren - Milner
Wijnaldum - Stewart - Can
Llalana - Sturridge - Coutinho

Then give Coutinho and Wijnaldum a rest after 60

Man Utd :
Clyne - Matip - Lovren - Milner
Wijnaldum - Hendo - Llalana
Firmino - Origi - Coutinho.

For the Plymouth game I would play:
T. AA - Lucas - Gomez - Moreno
Ejaria - Stewart - Can/ Brannagan (give Branners another chance)
Wilson - Origi - Woodburn
Ojo on the bench and give him minutes in the second half to ease him back. Give Juanma a bit more time in the U23s first I think as the back four with him would be very inexperienced.

A very strong line up with Sturridge replacing Henderson in the team.
Good luck lads.

Bound to be some players rested against Sunderland. I expect less changes than some may think though. Maybe:

Clyne Lovren Klavan Milner
Can Stewart Gini
Lallana Origi Firmino

Karius, Moreno, Matip, Lucas, Coutinho, Mane, Sturridge.

I reckon Mane will stay in the team as it's his last game before leaving for AFCON. The only change I would make is Hendo out (through injury) and Origi in and drop Lallana back deeper. The players have a long rest after this game anyway so may as well get the most out of them.
No need to rush Matip or Coutinho back as the team is working so I agree with having them on the bench if they are fit enough so they can be called upon if needed.

Origi on bench? Odd one.
