I hear Iago Aspas is a target. Any other clubs interested in him?

Hi Folks
I am visiting England in May from Asia, and am hoping to get to the home game on the 6th. I know it is a tad late now, but would you be able to help with any reliable leads to get tickets? I am ok to get the regular tickets or even pay a bit of a premium for hospitality tickets (i am desperate to get to the game) .
Any leads will be much appreciated!

Try eec travel. on twitter. If u are on twitter let me have your id and I'll add u and send u the details. He may not have any tickets left but he may know someone. They are face value too. Cheers.

Go hospitality mate. It sounds like it is once in a lifetime for you.

3.) 24 Mar 2017 02:38:36
Thanks for the responses folks. Yes, given this is my first trip to UK - very keen to get to a game. I went to the LFC website and the hospitality options seem to be mostly sold out as well. Any thoughts on how to source them?

@lfcdiamond - will get in touch with eec on twitter - thanks!

4.) 24 Mar 2017 02:48:37
By the way, is stubhub reliable to buy match tickets?

Would anybody know where I can catch the came today in San Francisco? My hotel doesn't have coverage and would like to go to a bar, but don't know if there's any that's open this early in the morning.
Appreciate the help!

Fantastic result last night. Was watching the game from 3am to 5am where I am in Singapore, and boy was it totally worth it!
I was really impressed with Gini. He hardly gave the ball away and had super decision making. It was also quite clear that he was giving it everything, even when his legs appeared to be dying on him in the final minutes.
I see people rightfully going on behind Matip, but I also thought Lovren was at least equally good as well.
On the Chelsea front, I think they lack creativity in the middle of the park with Matic and Kante both playing. That said, I was really impressed with what I saw of Kante (given that I didn't follow Leicester much last season) .

I am a long time reader but very occasional poster. Love all the banter, especially Ron, Waro and Harry :)
LKY brings in the funny element with his outrageous posts quite often as well.
Special mention of course to the eds, especially ed001 who invests time, knowledge, and a very strong point of view (which I mostly agree with but not always) .
We tend to do well against the big teams, so hope we can unravel Conte's Chelsea. My big fear is that they park the bus today, which is why I hope Coutinho plays to bring in that spark of brilliance.

All the best to the team today. Let's paint London red!
Onwards and upwards. YNWA.

I personally wouldn't change it in an attacking sense, we won 4-1 against the current champs. I would be pissed if I was dropped after that.
However long term I would move coutinho in for GW, get him central where he can do damage.

2.) 16 Sep 2016 18:49:16
Firmino is carrying a knock and wouldn't start. Terrible news.

3.) 16 Sep 2016 18:50:05
Good lad w0rdsmith, another believer 😎

We are going to SMASH Chelsea tonight, I'm 100% confident. It's going to be an awesome atmosphere at the game. The away fans are in for a treat, but they bloomin deserve it!
I just love the way Kloppo is setting us up. There is no compromise with this team, we are just going to go out, hell for leather and blow teams away. We will keep trying to score if we're 5-0 up. This is what football is all about, goals, excitement, unpredictability. He's really bringing the feel good factor back and some teams this season will get battered.
We'll concede a lot this season, but we'll have thrilling games, lots of goals and lots of success. By Christmas every team will be petrified of our attacking intent.

4.) 16 Sep 2016 19:05:16
You should bottle whatever it is you've got Ron 😎.

5.) 16 Sep 2016 19:07:02
We'll win 3-1 tonight. Couts for Firmino is not a bad replacement 😁
Glad Sturridge kept his place although I think he'd have been sacrificed had Firmino been fit. Come on, let's have it!

6.) 16 Sep 2016 19:10:12
Hey Ron got to say I hope you are right but totally disagree. Klopp only plays one way and teams should be able to come up with a plan to stop this style of play.
I think we will Finnish between 8th and 13th this season.

{Ed001's Note - Klopp does not play only one way, utter nonsense.}

7.) 16 Sep 2016 19:22:58
You definitely live upto your name 8th to 13th ppffff.

8.) 16 Sep 2016 19:29:42
not even negative united fans would have us 8th-13th.

9.) 16 Sep 2016 19:55:58
Come on negativeredwalter! What's the point in watching us this season if you've already got us doomed to failure? It's early doors. Up the Reds.

10.) 16 Sep 2016 22:34:50
I like to be proved wrong and I am desperate for lfc to have success. Just not 100% sure this will be our season personally think next year bigger year with top 4 a definite.

I am quite excited after this transfer window.
I like the changes in GK, the changes in central Defence, and Mane is a very exciting signing.
Gini I am less sure about, but he seems to be a good lad from the few interviews I've seen. Let's give him a month or so to get used to the system and his role in it.

Left back is a question mark of course, but let's wait and see how things pan out. deep down I feel that if Moreno just cuts his hair, he may grow some common sense and start being a good left back again. A man can dream.

Thanks for your predictions Macca. IMHO you will get 2-3 out of the 6 right.

Tarkowski - Unlikely - Like many of the other posters I hope we get Ben Mee instead of Tarkowski. Klopp likes ball playing centre backs, and Tarkowski may not fit the bill

Fekir - Possible - Makes a lot of sense given where he plays and how he plays

Dembele - Ousmanne or Moussa?
Ousmanne: I would like it to work out but unlikely given the price Barcelona are likely to ask for him. He is a two footed player which is good, but he has lower workrate than what a Klopp team tends to demand

Butland - From your previous post, I reckon this one is likely to happen. It makes sense because a lot of our players are not homegrown now (Lallana and Milner are in the twilight of their careers, Ward may be looking to move on to get first team opportunities, and the rest of your list of desired players are not British)

Cabellos - Possible to happen - he is a good player, Zidane may not rate him as much as he would have liked

On top of your list, I have a feeling (no source or anything just a random fuzzy feeling) that we will buy one player from Leverkusen this season on top of the list shared. Which one of Tah, Bailey, Havertz, Henrichs, and Brandt i don't know.

Could it be Moussa Dembele and not Ousmanne.

Thanks for the update, Macca. Greatly appreciated as always.
If it is a ‘top, top player’ it would have to be an established international, and TOP 5 player in their respective league. Some of the options based on the responses above could be:
1. EPL - Sanchez, Ozil
2. La Liga - Gareth Bale, Suarez, Oblak
3. Serie A - Dybala, Donnarumma
4. Others (French, German, etc) - Veratti, Kimmich, Lewandowski

I think it has to be one of these 10 players. Which one, is anybody’s Guess unless Macca wants to help us with more clues?

Ed002 - I know that Julian Brandt was rumored to be looking for a move away from Leverkusen given inability to qualify for Europe. Liverpool seem to be looking at other options for now, but do you know if there are other teams interested in Brandt at this stage? Not seen a lot of press on him of late.

w0rdsmith

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool were very keen and he was the first choice. The issue was that I guess he looked at the squad and thought how does he fit in. Hence the question - will I be starting? The massive advantage of Brandt is that he is a proper left winger with the ability to play across the forward line. The others are generally right winger with the ability to play across the forward line. He was the number one pick and he would bring more to Liverpool than the others being looked at. Both North London sides have shown an interest in him but right now neither is making any real effort. Bayern may look to him again as a Costa replacement.}

Asensio has said he wants to stay at Madrid and earn more minutes next season. Sounds like the player backs himself to succeed - and in that situation, Madrid is a much bigger club to play at vs Liverpool. Don't really see this move materializing.

A few things to consider (I am making all of this up. )
1) There are the Euros coming up this year and may be too late to postpone / change the rules about players participating. Maybe this announcement is supposed to rush UEFA / FIFA into some kind of decision to allow those players to participate in the Euros?
2) While we say FSG out etc. the truth is that some of the other largest clubs in European football would have signed up with or without Liverpool. I know it is the easier path to take and all, but if there is a super league with all the European powers, would you rather be in it or out of it?

w0rdsmith

{Ed002's Note - (1) No. (2) FSG want control and money.}

I liked the look of Minamino cutting in from the left side during the first half in the last game of the season at Newcastle. Of course, it was one half of one game - but I do think Origi loses his charm a little bit on the left wing and is a much better Center Forward. Perhaps Minamino can provide reasonable backup to Mane going forward? Harry Wilson could well become Salah's under study along with Elliott on the right wing, if we are unable to find a buyer for him given the poor transfer market this season.

Hypothetically, we can all want what we want. But practically, I honestly think it will be hard to have a great run in the cups if we are doing miserably in the league. Team spirit and confidence come from keeping on winning, and for that reason I would expect that we will still try to get to a record breaking points table (even if we lose 1-2 stray games) and not rest our best players for league matches completely.

When Trent and/ or Robbo go up field to attack, one of the innermids (generally Gini for Robbo and Hendo for Trent) cover as an additional defender. That is also probably why we see fewer assists and goals from our midfielders.
