We did make top 4 because we lacked fire power upfront.
We should not panic we have some really talented players who will get better.
We just need to buy 2 stikers, a top class midfielder and a right back.
Should be no problem with the amount of players we will sell.
Ibe will sign a new deal, coutinho, henderson already have let's hope sterling does the same.
1 thing i don t understand is that allen will be given a new deal, allen is too light weight, this season against top midfielders he got found out, simple not good enough the game to fast for him.
Sell the players with no future add 4/5 top players and we will make top 4 next season.

I agree that Allen is not the level of player we should have if we want to push for top for places, he is our weakest link when he plays and his return on investment must equal close to zero. Please prove me wrong, but he has never contributed an assist in his 3 years has he? Had he even scored in that time? Enough bashing.

I think a top level GK is also required, Mignolet has turned things around but he needs competition to maintain and progress. Also if he were injured/suspended we have Jones. Nice lad I'm sure but would he be no2 at any of the top 6 sides?

2.) 14 May 2015 16:09:40
We should not panic?

Yet you then ask us bring in 4 more players who the fans will clamour for despite never seeing them play and will most likely turn out to be any good because we panic bought?

3.) 15 May 2015 07:49:48
Agree vlr, squad is there apart from just needing small additions, my panic is that we end the season without a clear identity, team structure or good idea of our best 11.

Hopefully we sort it out early next year and play to our strengths/let the players finally settle into a consistent selection and playing style and get some of our identity back.

Just same info i heard today, Mark Wright has a house here in Malta and has been coming here for years.some guys are in contact with him about lfc.
Sterling will probably be sold for big money and the reason Sterling is upset is that he did not recieve the contract he wanted end of last season.
The club is looking to offload at least 6 players (manquilo, enrique, borini, balotelli, lambert, lucas and gerrard, toure, johnson will all leave.
Depay was very close but he did not want to wait until sterling situation was solved.
We are looking at spanish cb from bilboa and will try to bring in 2 strikers 2 midfielders and a right back.
Money is available but we need to offload players and Wright said that if Sterling leaves we be spending big this summer.

Shouldn't Mark Wright be more worried with his TV career he's been a bit hit and miss after The Only Way is Essex

2.) 12 May 2015 17:05:02
Ex players have no idea what is going on and only give their opinions and present them as facts.

3.) 13 May 2015 00:59:44
He should be more concerned with giving Tina out if Coronation St a good seeing to.

Dutch press:depay sign for united.
PSV coach Cocu told all the players when they were training.
This will hurt us badly, Depay is a great player just another 1 slipped away.

{Ed002's Note - This won't hurt Liverpool at all. No one slipped away.}

1.) 07 May 2015 11:48:48
Plenty more fish in the sea, especially when striker and right back are priorities. We still have Sterling and Ibe in Depay's position.

2.) 07 May 2015 12:00:22
I am happy UTD signed Depay. Just imagine if UTD had signed Bale instead of Depay. :)

3.) 07 May 2015 12:00:32
The sooner people realise Liverpool isn't the huge attraction they think it is the better. Why would he join a mid table team that has so many faults it's like a real life version of the old sky 1 programme dream team.

4.) 07 May 2015 12:05:05
Glad that it happened so soon, maybe it will make people realize that such kind of players are not going to join us. Just hope that some club will buy Lacazette soon, so people will stop asking if he will join LFC.

5.) 07 May 2015 12:10:27
I would far prefer for us to simply keep Sterling. Depay was only looked at as a potential replacement, if I am not mistaken. We have Ibe, Lallana and Marcovic anyways, not to mention that Origi can play further back as well.
I would much rather a player of the Vietto or Son type, that could play either as a mobile forward or as a second striker. Someone who could play both with and without Sturridge - that is what we so desperately need.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has certainly been making provisions for the departure of Dterling by looking at wide players.}

6.) 07 May 2015 12:11:44
It is dissapointing but suppose we need to go onwards. He was always going to go there. Tbh if Sterlings staying i'm not sure were he would of fitted in. This Paul George Ntep geezer looks decent anyhow and i'm sure we will be i'm for multiple players over next few months.

7.) 07 May 2015 12:16:47
I so much agree to this. Like I said in my previous post. Liverpoolfc are no more attractive to players, even young prospects except for mid table players across Europe which is not what Liverpool needs right now regardless of where we end the season. I think we need a new chapter some with a record that could attract players just like Van Goal is in Man U. YNWA !!

8.) 07 May 2015 12:30:49
I have a worring feeling BR will be in charge next season and waste more money on the likes of Ntep (who the fudge is he???) and Sheyi Ojo and Ryan Kent who are more than ready for chances in the first team get sent out on pointless loans! Or worse feel like they have no future at the club. It would be CRIMINAL if the likes of Ojo,Kent,Wilson,Sinclair are not first team regulars in a couple of years time.

9.) 07 May 2015 12:34:14
If we are not attractive as a club to players, I can't understand why so many witch-hunters think we will be attractive to managers if we sack ours.

We won't.

10.) 07 May 2015 13:05:53
Hey ed02, just to clarify something - you or ed01 mentioned earlier that Son is looked at as an alternative of Vietto (too expensive) - this means that he is not being looked at as an option in case Sterling leaves, but rather as a forward (probably to replace Balo), correct?
From all the targets mentioned thus far, I believe that Son along with a right back if Manquillo leaves is all that we really need. Not even too sure about the need of CM if Lucas stays, though Milner would provide a better option than Allen.
Thanks!

{Ed002's Note - It will be nothing to do with Sterling.}

11.) 07 May 2015 13:22:22
Sterling is a good player, but his medium/long range passing isn't great and his shot power and accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. I think 50m is a massive overvaluation.

Ron, when has sacking managers ever stopped other managers from being interested in those very clubs? Have you followed football for the last 20 years? Sacking a manager after 3 unsuccessful years of winning absolutely nothing is called ambition.

12.) 07 May 2015 13:36:29
We had CL and money this season YET no top signing wanted to come so there lies the issue. We are not an attractive pull mainly because we have failed to make CL for those five years. Consistent CL footie keeps you attractive and competitive and if we can't offer that on a regular basis, we will continue to struggle. As for Depay, he was not a priority because he would be a replacement for Raheem and he is not a striker hence, not needed. We need goals and we must focus our resources on that as well as a RB if Flanno or the others can't make it. As for Ntep, WTF?

13.) 07 May 2015 16:19:08
Dwarf, you want to get Internet access on your boat and research what happened the last time we sacked a manager.
Quite a few didn't want to come then.
The point is it is clear top players don't consider us an attractive team, so by the same logic why would a top manager see us any differently?

14.) 07 May 2015 19:33:34
I disagree, Ron. Managers in general belong to a more cultured group of people than players. They tend to care more about the history and culture of a club than shopping for diamonds and ferraris in big cities.

We had the chances in the 1e half last night we could have killed the game.
We lost control and were under pressure.what i have seen we need a top class defending midfielder.
We are defending well and most of the time our we create enough chances but when Lucas is missing we have no replacement.
Can is our best buy this season but he is not a holding midfielder, we need a Matic type of player.
Allen is good, but when he comes under pressure he can't cope with it, the game is to fast for him.
We really got something going if we can add 3 top players we be a force.
We need to spend more wisely this summer, anyone who watches european football knows that 25mil for Lallana is crazy much better players available for that kind of money.
We need to skip the English market and buy abroad, English players are overpriced and the best ones stay at their club.

We did play well last night but we won, balo hardly misses from the penalty spot so he should take them if Gerrard is not playing.
Henderson is a hard working midfielder a real team player but i doubt he has captain qualities.
Henderson also wants to take free kicks, i am surprised he is allowed to take them.
Technically Henderson is not the player to curle the ball in the net.

i agree with ed 23.kovacic will be gerrards replacement and will prove to be a great buy.
We will have enough midfielders who can play different positions, and if we really interested in illaramendi who is a good passer a bit like xabi we have lucas replacement in.
my only worry is the left back position we need a left back that can defend and support the attack from the wing, willems from psv is a very talented player will suit our play.
Games a re won in midfield if we get kocacic+coutinho, hendersen, milner, firmino,Can.we will be strong.
We need to bring in 1 top striker and aim for top 3.
Sterling will leave and we don't need a replacement we have ibe, markovic, orogi and milner who can play on the wings.
striker, kovacic, illaramendi and willems we be a force again.
we need to say goodbye to a few enrique, lucas injuries got him but has been a class act from the day he arrived, borini, balotelli, lambert and i hope allen just not good enough.

i agree with the real ag.

Depay is more than just talented,in the ribery robben mode.
We really missed out we could have played depay from the left.sterling can play on top and both wings.
if we cound have bought depay we only needed to bring in a top center forward.
This is really going to hurt us depay is a worldclass talent.

Indian Buzzer, new manager and ambitions will not change much, Br talks a bit too much but we have played some great football lately.
We don't know how much power the transfer commitee has?
Fsg have all the time in the world bringing in a top manager is not what they want.
Top managers will ask more money than brendan has spend, and look at the net spend last summer.
FSG know that liverpool is the best buy they will ever make.
Man u is worth 2 billion, after the ground is done and they attracted more sponsers we be worth much more than they paid.
Here in Malta we have 2 groups of football fans, italian mostly juve and milan and some roma/inter supporters.
English 40% manu 40% us and some tottenham/arsenal.
We are so big in the world and FSG know it, and they know how to get the club in order worldwide.
Fsg have time, get more revenue first and spend after, once the ground is ready and revenue is up they will own a billion pound club.
We have millions of supporters worldwide that will never leave, no matter what.

Give Sterling a good contract i don't understand why people are saying he is gready?
Most off us work for a wage, 99% off us would leave our jobs if we could double our salary.
he will get the money somewhere else if we don't pay.
Age got NOTHING to do with it?he is ours, he is young and playing well.and will only get better.
We need to keep what is good, what do we want sell sterling?we might sell him and buy another Borini for 10 mil + wages.
Keeping sterling is cheaper.
Our competitors will make an offer and pay him close too what he wants.
Same goes for coutinho/henderson/ibe let's keep and build.
