Hi Eds, what are your thoughts about Mandzukic? I know he hasn't been linked with the club. Not sure if he is even looking to leave Juve anytime soon. But was just thinking about players who could add a lot of value to our squad and what we lacked and he just popped up. Looking forward to reading your thoughts.

{Ed001's Note - decent player for the way Juve play but would not suit us at all. He is best suited to the slower pace of Serie A.}

I think he is quite a decent player. Would have made a good back up option from the bench but with him being on the wrong side of 30 and no guarantee he could adapt to the prem, i think it would be better to look elsewhere.

If we were the sort of premiership team that could afford to build a team with him scoring goals as the primary goal (Lukaku @ Everton, Benteke @ Villa etc) he'd be one of the best options we could possibly look at. However outside of Italy I can't think of a single top team he'd be able to integrate with - possibly Chelsea as Hazard's focus point.

Just been reading that Siggerdson is out for a few weeks, looks like he will miss the Derby game next month, Everton will miss him big time .

Mandzukic of the Bayern days? Maybe. This version? No thanks. He's 32 and way passed his best.

Hi Eds, have been a follower of this site for long and have to say you'll are doing a great job. Hats off!

Could you'll suggest some other blogs/ websites that you feel have great content for us football fans to read. Which talks about tactics, past stories and experiences of players and managers, club cultures etc.

{Ed001's Note - off the top of my head thesefootballtimes has some really interesting stuff on it. Bleacher report is normally not something I would recommend but they do some really good long form articles on there that are worth a read. Other than that Swiss Ramble is a very good blog regarding football finances. That is about all I can think of right now sorry.}

TAW (the Anfield wrap) does some great articles IMO.
