Not saying we should sign him, but what ever happened to our interest in nunes from wolves?

tomtom0349

{Ed002's Note - Deemed too expensive.}

1.) 15 Aug 2023 09:43:09
Sorry just seen your previous post. Thanks Ed002.

2.) 15 Aug 2023 09:44:25
I tried to post about this but don't think it went through, I hope we can go back to him as he looked very very good last night.

3.) 15 Aug 2023 09:53:54
After the Caicedo bid other clubs know we not as poor as we make out lol price will go up as everyone knows we are desperate.

4.) 15 Aug 2023 10:07:11
He's a really good player that we should have signed last summer when offered the chance.

While I am sure he can play at DM if needed, he's best as a press resistant box-to-box player. I think that ship has sailed now that we have Mac and Dom for those roles. In addition, Curtis seems like his availability and performance levels are improving.

5.) 15 Aug 2023 12:03:12
too expensive before we found a bag of cash for caicedo? lol

I'm enjoying this pursuit of whichever CDM will come to us lol hopefully whoever it is is good hahaha.

6.) 15 Aug 2023 13:01:07
Wolves might be open to sell to ease FFP worries? Although we would still need a DM.

07 Jun 2017 19:29:51
Hi eds question.

What would happen if vvd handed in a transfer req in an attempt to push the move through.

How would you see it playing out if we went back in for him

Thanks

This is honestly exhausting.

tomtom0349

{Ed025's Note - it wont happen tomtom..

1.) 07 Jun 2017 20:13:45
He briefly changed his instagram and took off Southampton player and changed his picture to one in a Dutch shirt then changed it back. I could see him try and force through a move, whether we would go for him that's another thing? Probably end up at city or Chelsea.

2.) 07 Jun 2017 20:07:35
I don't know ed bec vvd has just removed everything on his Twitter to do with Southampton.

3.) 07 Jun 2017 20:37:01
Cuts doubly deep for me as I foolishly stuck £20 on him joining.

Unfortunately nobody benefits in this whole debacle, Soton don't, we don't, VVD doesn't.

4.) 07 Jun 2017 20:49:05
His twitter says Southampton still, as does his instagram.

5.) 08 Jun 2017 03:21:08
If VVD handed in transfer request, that could end badly for all parties. Soton just didn't like us forcing them to accept the offer. Now we don't get our target, VVD unhappy, Soton gets to keep an unhappy player.

{Ed001's Note - Saints just didn't like us going behind their backs and breaking the rules. If we had gone through official channels and the player then said he only wanted to play for us, they would have accepted it.}

01 Sep 2013 21:42:26
Hi eds. Do u think the 3 impending transfers will definitely happen? Getting tetchy now. can't take any more! {Ed002's Note - I cannot say 100% but I do expect all to go through.}

Hi Ed (s) just bit of perspective please.

So I understand from reading all your comments etc how and why what klopp did was wrong.

Just watching skysports news and el dodgy car dealer Harry Redknap is in there waxing lyrical about Ashley Cole, Stuart Downing and Robbie Keane and how he'd love to sign them.

How does this differ? Is this not unsettling players.

As I said not trying to get justification for klopp or jump on the everyone does it bandwagon.

Just curious

Cheers
Keep up the good work.

tomtom0349

{Ed002's Note - Hardly unsettling as one is out of contract, one has been made available for free and one has the opportunity to find a new club. So this seems to be yet another embarrassing attempt to justify the repugnant activities of the Liverpool coach. I don't understand why you won't let go and people keep bringing it up again.}

1.) 15 Jul 2017 21:37:01
No no I didn't realise their contract situation. and obviously I understand they are older etc.

Thanks for the response. I shall leave it there. ttfn.

2.) 15 Jul 2017 22:29:29
Ed I need some clarification on this too. I saw an interview with Nainggolan on an international break last season and he said that he spoke to Conte about joining Chelsea but decided to stay at Roma. Is that not tapping up? I'm honestly not trying to justify anything Klopp has done just trying to understand the difference.

{Ed002's Note - He was offered to Chelsea by Roma last summer and they had permission to talk with him. This is another pitiful attempt to deflect from Klopp' abhorrent behavior.}

3.) 16 Jul 2017 00:07:04
I really don't see how tapping up a player is embarrassing let alone a disgrace etc.
I'm certain there is underhand sh@t happening On a daily basis by all football clubs, including LFC, but I just don't care. I support LFC, which means I watch games for entertainment and obviously care about who we sign/ sell. The rest of the background greed doesn't affect me nor embarrass me, so tap away I say, just be prepared for the reverse.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are already serving one ban. Would another be something that would please you.}

4.) 16 Jul 2017 00:26:49
Ed002, whilst I am all for you sending posters off with their tail between their legs for rude, offensive or ridiculous posts, I've got to say I feel for Happy Tappy here.
Seems like a genuine question to understand the difference with that particular scenario and the actions of Klopp.
You have indicated that Chelsea had permission to talk with the player - that answered the question and you could have left it there. I am not sure that Happy Tappy has looked to deflect at all from Klopp's actions.
I await my own personal tongue lashing with anticipation 😉.

{Ed002's Note - I am being asked repeatedly about the same thing as Liverpool fans stumpble around looking to blame anyone but Klopp for his detestable and illegal approaches for the players of other clubs. Why they go on and on about it is beyond me. Why they keep trying to justify this bevaior is beyond me. The club are already serving one ban and many don't seem to care if they get another - they are making themselves a complete laughing stock.}

5.) 16 Jul 2017 00:46:01
I would agree with you there Ed002. Perfectly fair point.
A lot of time is wasted through repeated questions, not just tapping up, but can Klopp just forgive Sahko and why not give Flanno another chance. both of which I find fairly unlikely to happen.
We do need to find something new to complain about.

6.) 16 Jul 2017 02:05:35
I think these are genuine questions from posters who just can't tell the difference. You can normally tell the ones who are trying to deflect, they say stuff like "well everyone is doing it". People here obviously aren't as well versed in the game about how tapping up works. Maybe if ya had sticky posts or links to info etc that would help others.

{Ed001's Note - no it wouldn't because people are lazy and don't read them.}

7.) 16 Jul 2017 02:16:28
Can we not just drop this now. It's clear what happened let's just put it to bed and move on.

8.) 16 Jul 2017 01:37:52
Ummm, I'm not sure the OP or anyone in this thread is trying to justify any of Klopps recent behaviour. Seemed like a genuine question to me and a bit of an unfair response.

{Ed002's Note - I am not entirely sure why you are also getting involved and helping to drag this out further. One person after another are making unfounded accusations against other managers and coaches in order to deflect form the contemptible behavior of Klopp. People are also coming out and saying they don't care if Liverpool get another ban - is is the moronic "we is Liverpool" mentality. I have tried to stop all of this, but the fans want to go on and on about it.}

9.) 16 Jul 2017 01:40:52
That said ed is right it has been covered enough now. Time to move on!

25 Jul 2016 21:42:53
Hi eds and all. just wondered if i could trouble anyone for their opinion on Kevin Keegan. the player. the manager.

Any info appreciated.

Regards
Tom.

tomtom0349

{Ed001's Note - before my time as a player, I am afraid. As a manager, he was very much about attack, attack attack. He just wanted players to go out and score more than the opponent, no matter how many they scored. It was incredible to watch his teams, they could be so entertaining most of the time. Unfortunately the league was full of Pulis-type teams, who would just grind the games out and spoil the entertainment on their way to a 0-0 draw, usually.

What I particularly liked about him was that he would make the players end every training session with an autograph session for the fans. Players, and coaching staff, would have to spend time after every training session just going round the watching fans having pictures taken and signing everything put in front of them. Everything he did was done for the fans' benefit. Shame he couldn't handle the pressure, it was just too much for him. Probably because he cared too much about the fans, so the defeats hurt him on their behalf as well as his own.}

1.) 26 Jul 2016 05:24:55
A good read.

Ed01, if I may squeeze in, as my time as a fan just started from Benitez years, I would like to know, which you like the most?

I like Klopp, but it seems unfair to judge him just yet. I really like Benitez.

Err it's ok Ed, just remember after Benitez, they were Hodgson and Rodgers. I think I know your answer. ;)

{Ed001's Note - I love Klopp and did before he joined.}

2.) 26 Jul 2016 05:34:34
I started to like him only after we were first linked to him. Did some read especially his interviews and quotes, those really got me excited.

I am sure you are so glad that he's our manager now ya Ed.

Thanks for the reply Ed01.

{Ed001's Note - very glad.}

3.) 26 Jul 2016 06:52:49
Keegan the player was similar to Suarez, in that nothing was a lost cause. He was a defenders nightmare as he would chase anything and everything down, and formed a formidable partnership with John toshack.

Not blessed with the skills Suarez had, he still maximised what he had and his methods and endeavour were seen in his teams as a manager

Temperament wise, much better than Suarez ( who isn't) but could still be feisty when he needed to be.

Moved to Hamburg which made way for King kenny, but he himself became European footballer of the year, so gives a measure of how good he was.

{Ed001's Note - he didn't make way for King Kenny, the club targeted Dalglish to play alongside Keegan, but Keegan wanted out.}

4.) 26 Jul 2016 07:49:37
KK can't beat him. Liverpool's finest ever!

5.) 26 Jul 2016 07:53:15
KK being King Kenny! Oops I never realised KK also Kevin Keegan who I very quickly forgot when liverpools finest emerged. He (Kenny) could play alongside pretty much anyone so The loss was Keegan's - model sportsman model citizen and terrific player.

6.) 26 Jul 2016 08:31:52
Keegan wasn't blessed with the skills that some players had. He got to where he got through a superb amount of hard work and determination. His partnership with John Toshack was unbeleivable and the media even made a show about it, they were convinced that the pair were telepathic. All bull as we know but it made good press. He gave us a seasons notice that he was leaving and his best game was his last. 1977 European cup final. Bertie Vogts must still have nightmares about that game.

7.) 26 Jul 2016 11:28:17
And he had a great perm!

8.) 26 Jul 2016 11:58:04
"i love it, i would really love it. " made him infamous.

9.) 26 Jul 2016 12:07:24
Kevin keegan was my hero growing up watching the reds. Gave everything for the shirt. I was very upset when he left for hamburg. But then the cgabt went round wembley v man u in the charity shield " DALGLISH" abd life was anazing again! .

10.) 26 Jul 2016 12:53:47
The first game I can remember as a kid was the 74 cup final an Kevin played a blinder, he always gave everything as a player an makes some players today look bone idle. The Rome 77 final was possibly his best game in a Liverpool shirt, can still remember the joy of winning the cup for the first time an also the heartbreak that he was leaving, luckily canny old Bob had it sorted with Kenny. YNWA.

11.) 26 Jul 2016 14:29:09
He never got the credit mainly because he achieved plenty outside Liverpool and we had only his share and not the full estate. Keegan was the rare footballer who left Liverpool and won absolutely everything. Those were rare back then. He gave a full one month notice in advance before moving to Hamburg, never understood y people never mention him along the greats.

He was the Dalglish before the Dalglish.

12.) 26 Jul 2016 18:17:50
Great player. Superb partnership with Toshack.
Was never going to be playing with Dalglish. Keegan gave Liverpool 12 months notice that he was going. Dalgish was signed to directly replace him. Turned out to be the best buy in LFC history.

13.) 26 Jul 2016 19:55:30
Still remember that 1977 Final in Rome. The man was on fire - he had Berti Vogts "the bulldog" and most feared defender in Europe, in his pocket all night long. And everyone is right. Not super talented in terms of intricate football skills, but he more than made up of it with sheer will and determination. Deceptively fast and always very direct. He always took on his man and somehow got by him. You don't see much of that anymore. Looked kinda funny with that long shaggy curly hair and pink HSV Hamburg shirt the next year.

14.) 26 Jul 2016 20:58:55
Loved Kevin as a player. Even when he came back and played for Southampton, he was fantastic, partnering with Channon and Ball.
His "attack" mindset as a manager, should have been a blueprint on how football should be played. FA/ UEFA/ FIFA should have amended the rules to encourage that type of play. (Extra league point for every 5 goals scored? )

16 Jun 2016 18:48:50
Hi eds.

Wonder if I could ask your expert opinion compared to my plebian one.

Gareth bales free kick today against England. assuming you have seen it?

But what makes it so special? Commentators on TV and radio were going crazy about it. but I just don't see it. To me great free kicks are payets numerous ones this year. risse against united. beckhams numerous ones.

So what makes bales so special. is it simply the pace and speed he gets it up and down over the wall?

Sorry if it's a daft question.

Regards.
Tom.

tomtom0349

{Ed001's Note - no idea, I didn't watch. I very rarely watch international football as it bores me. I spend the season watching 3 or 4 games a day every day, so tend to take the summer off watching matches. I made an effort for the World Cup and it was not worth it, so I haven't bothered this summer for the Euros or Copa.}

1.) 16 Jun 2016 19:01:13
Nothing special about his free kick. Joe Hart was terrible.

2.) 16 Jun 2016 19:16:15
I think by saying it was amazing it detracts from harts howler.

3.) 16 Jun 2016 19:16:44
Hart positioned himself terribly should have been more central and despite that he got two hands to it so should have been able to keep it out.

4.) 16 Jun 2016 19:23:15
Tom not a daft question. joe hart was all at fault for that.

35 yards out centre of goal, there was no real up and over the wall as it was that far out.

Clanger from hart IMO.

5.) 16 Jun 2016 19:34:33
Guys don't be surprised at Hart's mistake as well as you shouldn't be surprised that Vardy came on and scored. I won't go into why.

6.) 16 Jun 2016 19:37:33
It was a good free kick that was on target. Became a goal because Hart has butter fingers and let the ball slip through his outstretched hands.

7.) 16 Jun 2016 20:36:03
Hart is overrated. English players seem to get a cult status after a few games and seem irreplaceable even when others deserve a chance. Just look at Rooney. English pundits trying to convince everyone including themselves that he is good in midfield. His Hollywood passes disguise the fact he gets caught on the ball and doesn't do the simple thing when available. Then there's kane and pundits saying hodge was brave putting on Dan and Vardy. so brave putting on the in form Vardy and England's most dangerous, most talented, most natural footballer I'm Dan 😅.

8.) 16 Jun 2016 22:51:36
Hart is below average at best and today showed that for the upteenth time.

9.) 17 Jun 2016 06:17:23
It was a good shot (nothing spectacular) from about 35 yards, not much movement on the ball. Joe Hart is crap is the simple answer like most posters noticed and the Eds have said for a while

10.) 17 Jun 2016 06:26:46
Hart = Clangerprone.

11.) 17 Jun 2016 07:11:41
No body seems to have picked up on Hart was laughing to himself just before free kick was taken. It was like he was saying to himself"really Gareth, you are thinking of shooting and beating me from there"? Made himself look stupid doing that. Watch it again and see.

12.) 17 Jun 2016 07:44:06
Basically Hart needed to deploy the "rashoumon" tactic and then Bale would have had no chance. 😎.

13.) 17 Jun 2016 08:55:08
Totally agree slaphead that really annoyed me he is an over confident and over paid Head and Shoulders pin up boy!

08 Jun 2016 15:12:18
Hi eds . appreciate this is a Liverpool page all. just be keen to get your thoughts on what's happening over the blue side of the park? Seems like a good bit of business getting koeman in if you ask me.

What are your thoughts.

Thanks as always
Tom.

tomtom0349

{Ed001's Note - hard to tell, he did not do a good job anywhere else, so he is a gamble. Is he that good or is it down to Saints' set up? Only time will tell, but I remain to be convinced by him personally.}

1.) 08 Jun 2016 17:07:50
it is going to be interesting to see what happens across the park, is the new owner going to be patient for example, we know he is ambitious but so are most of the owners in the premier league, looks like 8 clubs fighting it out for 4 places, which means 4 clubs come the end of the season will have failed, there simply is not enough room for everyone, he will have £100m to spend, but as we know only to well it all depends on what you spend it on, scott dann is now worth £15m, there fans are going to expect bigger and better signings than that, if they get monchi that will be a great coup and will help with player recruitment.

2.) 08 Jun 2016 18:20:19
I've heard they're trying to get monchi in as dof that would be a good move for them,

3.) 08 Jun 2016 19:06:14
Monchi would be good for most clubs.

22 May 2016 09:16:25
Interesting reading the ed01 and 02s opinions on klopp. ed01.seems much more confident in his ability.02 seems rather more critical.

tomtom0349

1.) 22 May 2016 10:21:33
Long term readers of the site will remember ed002s opinions on Commoli being spot on from day 1.
Also his opinions on Rodgers where also spot on from day 1.

2.) 22 May 2016 11:09:56
I have to agree, ed01 is a Liverpool fan and as Liverpool fans we can see the potential we can have under klopp, it just depends on some very important variables throughout the summer. Having said that it could go completely the opposite way and not work out for klopp at Liverpool and eventually people will want change again. Not saying that's ed02 opinion but I find a lot of his opinions about people within football to be quite accurate. I also have agreed with most of the things he's had to say about klopp.

3.) 22 May 2016 11:54:42
Football is all about opinions - both Eds are very knowledgeable and well worth listening to.

4.) 22 May 2016 14:01:11
They were easier to get correct though - ed001 was skeptical about Comolli and Rodgers too, as were most people I think. Comolli has never really been a big success anywhere, and Rodgers was a relative rookie with absolutely no experience for the job. With the greatest respect to ed002, ed001's views on Klopp are IMO more comprehensive. Ed002 was blaming the EL loss on 'gegenpress being found out'. when we didn't even use gegenpress!

{Ed002's Note - Would you like to point to the post where I said that Nick?}

5.) 22 May 2016 18:31:36
Ed02 stain NO such thing. He/ she just said that the gegenpress which Ed01 has repeatedly said that Klopp has stopped doing and that we no longer do, was found out in Germany hence the reason, he had a bad run in the end of his tenure in BVB, an opinion ED01 has repeatedly disagreed with.
