the deal fell through as the dnipro owner wouldn't sign the paperwork
surely they could have known this 2 days ago
why on earth did it take 3 days to not figure out that he wouldn't sign the papers? this seems utterly bizarre to me. they must have known he didn't want to sell so why carry on pursuing it for days

we started the season with 4 midfielder
of these four lucas and allen injury prone and gerrard ageing
i suggeted we were light one or 2 in midfield then
now we have 2 fit midfielder and injured lucas and allen who isn't quite fit yet
the club has had six long months to have midfielders lined up to join this window . there are no excuses really. the players weren't available . poor excuse. chelsea seem to have been able to do business fairly easily, everton have done business relatively easily and we are left one injury away from basically catastrophe
its so bad. 3 weeks ago we were challnging for the title and with 3 top sgnings sorted this window we still could have been. it was there for the taking . we really could have been challenging for top spot.
and very safely in the top four. instea we are worryingly looking over our shoulder at the chasing pack and face thefight of a lifetime to keep them at bay
to say I am currently disgusted by the clubs lack of ambition is an understatment
a very disillusioned fan

do you think the club might be waiting until champions league football is assured before adding to the squad bearing in mind it is an adeuate squad to challenge for the league title in a purely domestic season (it wasnt the defense that stopped us winning the league last season it was having no pacy alternative to mane and looking devoid of ideas without the genius of phil)?
And furthermore could possibly have 2 large deals lined in the event we do receive champions league football. for example keita. we didn't goi in with a third bid at 75 m but maybe we know that is rb liepzigs asking price behind the scenes and are seeing what else might unfold in this window re coutinho and the success/ failure of getting into the champions league proper.

but why does klopp only seem to have one individual target in mind for each position in the squad he wants to strengthen? this seems inane.

so you believe klopp is to blame for lack of alternative targets should deals like keita not come through?
is klopp so narrow in his focus that only these two players can improve his side. surely he realised there are lots of midfielders and centre backs who are stronger than our current midfield and centre back options. i just don't understand his all or nothing approach. he did it last season regarding left back chased hector got quoted 20 m a price he deemed too much and went with milner.
this season can't get keita and once again milner is now a midfield option.
if he doesn't get vvd does he have a bck up? if not how cn our defens improve? it was fifth best last season in the league. we are minus lucas and added robertson . currently the heart of the defense is weaker than last season.
it seems very narrow minded and rigid in his thinking to chase two such specific targhets failing to get them comes to the conclusion that milner will do or our current cb options will do when there are other players out there that could yet strengtthen us.
why is klopps field of targets so narrow? surely one would expect a list of at least five possibilities for each role needed filling in the squad.
what have the been doing since the january window? shouldn't they have sounded out the possibilty of getitng their prime targets well in adavance of the window opening and even when the window opened and if not possible move onto the next target down the list.
i really don't understand why klopp appears not to do this.
