Metro (usually one of the most unreliable sources) claiming that we have interest in Mateo Kovacic. I know we have been linked in the past and that was purely speculation, however he does seem to fit the transfer policy and seems like he would be a good addition to midfield. Claims that he has fallen out with the coach are the reason given for a potential move. Any truth that Liverpool are after him or any other PL clubs for that matter? Thanks

Hi Eds,
Longtime reader but I don't post often. Please keep up the good work, and apologies in advance as this post will likely bring out all the fans that just like to be contrary and ignore the information you have provided. Lfc and Klopps indiscretions when it comes to transfers have been well documented on this site. It may be too early to tell, and best reviewing at the end of each transfer window but: Does it appear like we are attempting to conduct our transfers in a more appropriate manner, or more particularly - are there are any fresh complaints about lfcs conduct in relation to transfers by other clubs? Would be good to know if we are moving in the right direction on all fronts and that seems to have been our biggest downfall over the last couple of years.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any complaints about Liverpool, or specifically, Klopp tapping up any players this season.}

Red Kurd, you start off by saying that it's "an Arab mindset" to want to go to Real or Barca, and then end your post with the example of Owen who went. He is definitely not Arab. And it's not about Arabs or Chinese or South Americans or anything like that. It's about the history of these clubs, all the titles they have won in both local and European Leagues, their stadiums, their crazy fan following (globally) .

Not to mention the managerial talent they attract. And perhaps even the fact that La Liga is arguably an easier league to play in (emphasis on technical skills) compared to the more physical EPL (it's easier on the bones) . Any player from any country would dream to end up with Real or Barca. It's not about any ethnic mindset, it's a global "footballer" mindset. Ask Laurie Cunningham who went to Real Madrid in 1979.

Hi eds, can you please clarify if a fee has to be agreed for a medical to take place? Ed1 mentioned a medical for fekir will be done when a fee is agreed however I thought if clubs were in negotiations and not far off reaching an agreement, the selling club could allow a medical if they wanted. And similarly with allowing a buying club to discuss terms with the player. I imagine this would typically happen at transfer deadline day too. This may have nothing to fo with fekirs delayed announcement but is a possibility in my head (e. g. basic fee agreed but haggling over 1 mill add on, or agent fee responsibility etc) . Thanks for your help and the information you provide, i thought i knew a lot about how transfers worked but have learned a lot from this site.
