Any views on Liverpool being interested in Luke shaw and Michael Keane?

sutt

{Ed002's Note - Nope.}

A Manchester United player, and an ex-Manchester United youth player? Both of whom are currently average!

Shaw cannot get a game ahead of Rojo, Blind or Darmian which says everything I need to know. Maybe he is a future solution, but I am skeptical. I have never subscribed to his hype. He was a good young player with potential, now he is a guy in his 20's clinging on to a reputation after injuries and lack of development. He is a left footed Flanagan. Robbed of their potential careers, and now risks we cannot afford to put in our first team.

Keane is just not good enough though. Burnley pack their own box with 8 players in two disciplined banks of 4. At a top team where they will want to win more games, he will need to play in a far less rigid and far more expansive system which would see him brutally exposed in my opinion. Dyche is just a very good manager and a very good tactician. When you can get players like Keane, Mee, Barton, Hendrick and Vokes playing well in a top flight league, you are doing something right.

Some players at lower teams are good in spite of their surroundings (Gibson, Robertson etc) . Some look good because of their surroundings (Keane, Shawcross etc) .

It's easier to play CB when you are set up defensively with 3 other defensive players in front of you. We saw how that worked out with Lovren who was great as Saints due to Koeman's defensive protection of his CB's and then when he came here where you are not as protected, he was poor and it has taken Klopp's management and coaching acumen to improve him. Players like Keane aren't good enough individually to play in our system cos our CB's are often exposed due to the way we play and if you can't defend one on one then, you are toast. Hence, CB's like Keane are a NO for me. Now Ben Gibson of Boro is a different issue. He would be perfect for us. Left footed CB, has pace, positional sense and can pass out of the back.

Could there be any interest in Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly if they are having to sell him . Also if Salah was tempted to move to madrid would we go for Jadon Sancho tim werner. would complete the puzzle .

sutt

{Ed002's Note - No, Sancho would be an option to replace Salah but there has at this time been no approach. Tim Werner would be a Firmino replacement or on the bench.

1.) 14 Nov 2019 20:33:57
The puzzle is already complete.

2.) 14 Nov 2019 22:58:42
from what I have seen of Sancho I hope we keep well clear. Not seen anything special from him.

3.) 14 Nov 2019 23:46:33
Imagine replacing Salah with Sancho, for goodness sake. That’s the type of move we’d have made in more banter era times.

4.) 15 Nov 2019 10:30:02
Salah has done nothing for us to feel he is going and needs to be replaced. I know there are talk from his agent at time and ex egypt players but its disrespectful for us to talk like this without any facts out there that he wants to leave.

Just today he's been hanging out with liverpool girls team which he doesn't have to do.

Stop having this conversation untill a need arises.

And the puzzle is complete. Trust in Klopp.

Hear hear. Salah has been nothing short of phenomenal for us. don't disrespect him.

If liverpool are in the market for a goal keeper . Are there any thought on fraser forster or Guillermo Ochoa.

sutt

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 29 Jun 2018 16:45:36
Sweet mercy.

2.) 29 Jun 2018 17:11:00
Not unless we were looking specifically at a downgrade.

3.) 29 Jun 2018 17:13:42
Ochoa always looks good in international competition mate but not so good for the rest of the time. Foster is overrated. Think he showed potential a few years ago but flaps far too much.

4.) 29 Jun 2018 18:30:27
Forster makes Migs look like safe hands.

5.) 29 Jun 2018 18:53:59
Yes, we need a new back up keeper for Grabara in our U23s and both Ochoa and Forster are being heavily considered for the role.

6.) 29 Jun 2018 19:04:00
Ed001 has some thoughts on Fraser Forster 👍.

{Ed001's Note - Fraser Forster player profile

7.) 29 Jun 2018 19:09:15
Fraser Forster has been dodgy for years. Not a chance. Ochoa is nowhere near good enough either.

8.) 29 Jun 2018 20:37:34
😄 good job Ed001 👍.

{Ed001's Note - thought it was the easiest way, as I had it prepared.}

9.) 29 Jun 2018 20:38:08
The perennially awful Forster was benched for Alex Macarthy, who is not even that good so why would we want him? "Memo" Ochoa? He plays here in Belgium for Standard Liege and he ain't all that either. He may be good for Mexico BUT LFC is not Mexico neither is the PL the World Cup hence, we move on.

Would love to know why liverpool wouldn't go for Charlie Austin
English for one
Had a great partnership with danny ings
and a steal at 4 million
thats a guy who would be great at liverpool.

sutt

{Ed002's Note - A few reasons: (a) Liverpool has no interest in him whatsoever; (b) he wants to live and play in the south of England so any package to get him to play anywhere else would need to be very attractive; (c) Liverpool are overrun with strikers, even if they could unload Sinclair this month; (d) Liverpool has a very bloated squad with, after adding players grabbed back from loans and the addition of an unnecessary centre back, more than forty first team players to chose from; (e) money is an issue.}

1.) 16 Jan 2016 12:40:48
Maybe overrun with strikers
But let's buy one that could hit a barn door
Needs to trim the squad that doesn't have a future with liverpool.

2.) 16 Jan 2016 13:06:12
Or let's persevere with the injured one.

3.) 16 Jan 2016 13:23:23
Charlie Austin is not who we need.
