Hi eds, I was wondering, what went wrong for Robbie Keane at Liverpool.
Do you not think he could’ve been a success given more time playing in his correct position?

I’ve seen on Twitter that Liverpool are interested in a player called Alireza Jahanbakhsh from AZ alkmaar as a back up if the fekir deal falls through again. Do you know of any interest or if we’ve watched him before?

Hi Ed002. Your comment above that Lyon won’t be open to negotiations. Does that mean they have set the price/ terms and we either pay it or we don’t, or does that mean they are no longer interested in selling Fekir (at least, to us)?
Bit worried we have made fools of ourselves again here.

I would turn my attention to a GK (Alisson) and a backup for Mane and Salah (Shaqiri or Simon) . Revisit the CAM situation once the world cup is over.

I know business is business and you want the best deal, but we Do seem a little arragont to say the least expecting a team to let a star player go cheap when our demands for fringe players are well over the top . I don't know if we conducted ourselves in the right manner years ago but always seemed to me that Sir John Smith and Peter Robinson were professional in the way they did business .

It's was always going to be about price. The specifics may be wrong, but the figures quoted were far too low for a player of his supposed quality, in today's market place, dealing with a known tough negotiator. We got an exorbitant amount for Coutinho and regardless of the fact they are not connected, Aulas knows we got paid handsomely and that Fekir would be Coutinho's replacement. He's just looking out for Lyon - he has set a price and we have to meet it, simple really.

I agree with you ed. No need to make knee jerk reactions either cough up or move on. Draxler would be a good option imo and possibly a better fit.

We tried negotiating it didn’t work. They are firm on what they want and that is the best price they can get for Fekir. They hold all the cards. If we want Fekir all we have to do is meet their demands. If the club isn’t willing to pay what Lyon want they should move on to other targets. It’s not that difficult to understand.
