NZONZI

Have Liverpool shown an interest in Nzonzi? Tall, aggressive player with Premiership experience that won't cost much (think about 6mill). Will be a great addition to our squad.

scruffy

{Ed001's Note - no.}

2 questions for the Eds:

1. Is there a clause whereby Clyne can be called back from his loan?

2. Also, is there anything in the clause preventing him from playing against LFC?

Keep up the great work.

Scruffy.

scruffy

{Ed001's Note - 1. No thankfully. Why would we want one? Both Milner and Henderson are better right backs than he is.

2. Why would we need anything in the clause? Premier League rules already forbid it happening.}

1.) 06 Feb 2019 10:41:39
Is there any clause in the deal to force him to play against LFC? 😉.

{Ed001's Note - if only.}

2.) 06 Feb 2019 10:46:48
Big statement to say Henderson and Milner are better full backs ed

Clyne isn't excatly cafu but could do a job also would allow Milner and Henderson to play midfield were they are better.

{Ed001's Note - not a big statement at all, Clyne has never been any good for us, but even worse since we expected a full back to offer any kind of attacking support. I have seen people shank better crosses than his better deliveries.}

3.) 06 Feb 2019 11:15:01
Clyne was and is woeful. He’s done nothing for Liverpool in all the time he’s been there but all of a sudden he’s our saviour?
Do me a favour the guy is a donkey we’d be better off with Camacho at least he might try to go past someone at some point in his career.

4.) 06 Feb 2019 11:21:09
I was at our last home defeat in the PL and Clyne showed one of the worst performances I've ever seen from a professional footballer, and I've been to Scottish league 1 matches . He was replaced by a 17 year old TAA who looked to me instantly more positionally aware and tactically astute . Clyne was never Liverpool class in my opinion.

{Ed002's Note - The constant trashing of every player who has played for Liverpool (except ironically The Runt), everyone who plays now and any potential players is what sets the Liverpool fans apart.}

5.) 06 Feb 2019 12:11:50
Ed2 believe me it’s not isolated to Liverpool fans only. I was at Wembley recently and the criticism Spurs players were getting from their own fans was shocking. Trippier especially.
The Clyne question is because people are using our loaning of Clyne to Bournemouth as a stick to beat us with trying to make out that Clyne is some world class player that would’ve seen us slaughter Leicester and West Ham when in fact he would’ve made no difference.
We are giving our opinions on a player that the club no long wants to give some perspective to the clubs decision.
Don’t try to make it more than it is.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any Liverpool fan suggesting that Clyne is a world class player. Don't tell me what I can and cannot do or say. Many Liverpool fans trash all of the players (except of course The Runt) who was supported by the fans even after costing KD his job. I see a lot of whining from the little bitches even though the club is doing well and top of the league. It is a great pity that so many cannot give their support to the players - particularly given that we know that at least three have been affected by the abuse from the fans in the recent past.}

6.) 06 Feb 2019 14:32:44
That’s fine Ed and I apologise for any offence.
I too get annoyed with some of our fans and have voiced that on here recently after the draw (or did we lose 10-0 I’m really not sure sometimes) with West Ham and the poisonous comments that followed from certain quarters.
This thread however was not that. It was merely some fans giving reasons why they thought the players we already have in the squad are better than a player that we’ve allowed to leave. The media have made Clyne out to be the world’s best right back that would’ve won us the league at a canter. We all know that is very far from the truth.

7.) 06 Feb 2019 19:01:50
Well said, Ed02. You can have an opinion on whether a player is good enuff or not BUT to see the vile abuse raining down on players from some "knobheads" (at LFC or other teams) on SM is quite pathetic and frankly, dangerous. I'm afraid it won't change tho cos everyone seems to be be tough and act tough behind a keyboard of a PC (in their mom's basement) or on their phones. Sad.

Barca can have Coutinho for 50mil + Turan, Rafinha and Gomes.

scruffy

1.) 27 Jul 2017 12:14:37
No they can't.

2.) 27 Jul 2017 12:18:49
Ummmm No thanks. I 'd take the 100 million plus cash. And use it to sign some real quality players like Keita and VVD. LFC are not a charity home for Barca's deadwood.
And have u even seen Gomes play? Awful player by every stretch. Rafinha is just coming back from a serious injury and Turan used to complain about Simeone's training methods so God knows what he will have to say when Klopp puts him through his paces.

3.) 27 Jul 2017 12:20:04
haha surely we need Mathieu and Paco Alcacer in exchange for Mane and £30m too?

4.) 27 Jul 2017 13:41:35
I say this not as a defence to any of those players named above but as a point of principle. I certainly wouldn't refer to anybody who isn't playing first team football at another club as deadwood.

It should be remembered Couts himself struggled to break into the Inter Milan team before transferring to us (which saw a loan spell at Espanyol the season before he moved) .

5.) 27 Jul 2017 12:29:21
All three? Basically all central midfielders aha!

6.) 27 Jul 2017 12:34:36
Confession: I'm not a huge fan of Coutinho (I know I'm in the vast minority here) . But if we can get around £100m for him and invest it directly back into the team, I would see it as good business. Depending on who we spent it on, of course.

7.) 27 Jul 2017 13:09:02
£100 million + Suarez.

8.) 27 Jul 2017 14:17:23
£1bn + every Barcelona player, a brand new stadium and nice leather chairs for all the Eds.

What do you mean this isn't Football Manager?

Injury update on Mane please.

scruffy

{Ed001's Note - too soon, takes a couple of days for swelling to go down enough to make a scan effective. It will be either later today or even tomorrow before any definite news emerges.}

BALOTELLI: Can't the club put Balotelli up for sale to the Chinese clubs? Surely Balo would look into that with all the money on offer and media hype around the league now.

scruffy

1.) 18 Feb 2016 08:25:13
There should be an interest in the player mate. You cannot force the Chineese to buy Balotelli. Yes they have bought some players paying over the odds, But all of them had proper conduct on and off the pitch.

2.) 18 Feb 2016 09:59:46
If jelavic can go for 4 mill ish to the second division and AC Milan's buy clause is for 4 mill ish then you'd pray to god we'll get our 4 million pounds at least and be done with him ha.
I do have a funny feeling Milan might buy him and sell him to China for double the price! It'll just still be good to move on though!

EMRE CAN: LESS IS MORE!

Stop running with the ball and stop taking so many touches. Many times 1 or 2 touches will suffice but instead you take 5 or 6 - momentum gets lost and spaces gets closed down.

The ball doesn't get tired so let it do all the work!

You are 1 of my favourite players, just do the basics young man.

scruffy

1.) 09 Nov 2015 07:52:20
Word.

Same goes for Lallana. Gave himself 20 touches on the ball before he decided to pass back to Moreno in a corner move- a pass back on his first touch of the ball would have sufficed. Those moves are usually meant to be quick but Lallana gave the defence way too much time to react to it.

Can needs to watch the great midfield players like Scholes and Pirlo. They only dribbled the ball into space if they needed to.

2.) 09 Nov 2015 08:13:23
He's a young man he would have games like this from time to time. tbh he looked really tired from the 1st minute imo.

3.) 09 Nov 2015 09:17:32
i almost pitied lallana the way he was run ragged by Palace's midfield. If RS can bulk up and hold his own against bigger size players, i dun see why lallana cannot.

4.) 09 Nov 2015 11:03:32
Some good points made here.

Things ARE improving.

Even the comments.

5.) 09 Nov 2015 11:15:35
Lallana's body is no longer developing and I don't see him bulking up. After talking a lot of waffle in press conferences and interviews, and couple of hard working performances, he has gone back his old self. He needs to be consistent and start scoring goals or providing assists or be sold soon.

6.) 09 Nov 2015 19:03:38
If a player talks more than he plays, then that player is probably not that good which at the moment, Lallana is.

I am not a Casillas fan at all but the guy is surely worth something considering all his accolades at Real Madrid and Spain.

scruffy

{Ed001's Note - was it down to him or the rest of the team? Only the one time he was called upon to show what he could do they won nothing because he let simple shots go straight past him.}

Why don't we try to get Turan or Rakitic included in the deal (provided they're willing to come of course)?

Chelsea's Matic could prove to be a viable Plan B; cheaper with Premiership experience.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. The league is a "marathon" and only time will tell if we're genuine top 4 contenders. All the signs look positive but let's take it 1 game @ a time gents. I think we have a very impressive squad this year with quality in most positions which augurs well. YNWA.

Some GK's look at the positioning of the Penalty Taker; that can also give you an indication of the direction he's intending to kick in.

scruffy

{Ed001's Note - Xavi Valero used to instruct goalkeepers on this, he would also have dossiers prepared on all the potential penalty takers for the keeper to read before a match. Among the many other things that made him such a great coach, and one we should look to bring back.}
