If Henderson wasn't the captain who would be a good choice?

rush1972

1.) 19 Dec 2017 20:36:00
The vice captain.

2.) 19 Dec 2017 20:39:20
I’d say Firmino, I know he isn’t the most vocal player but he always leads by example and puts 100% in every match. He is everything Klopp wants in a player. If I were to pick another player to be captain I would pick Lallana for the same reasons. In the future maybe gomez as I think he is a vocal player who also gives his all just lacks experience!

3.) 19 Dec 2017 20:47:01
Ox springs to my mind, I think he'd do a top job followed by Gomez in the future.

4.) 19 Dec 2017 20:54:40
Good call lfcleon.

5.) 19 Dec 2017 21:11:37
Gomez! Said it a while back, once he cements a place in the centre I would make him captain.

6.) 19 Dec 2017 23:17:47
Don’t think Hendo is anywhere near done yet, but with Milner and Couts (how did he get the armband? ) and Can likely to move on I think the likely candidates are Bobby, Lallana, and here’s a controversial one, Lovren.
No wait! Come back! He seems a player based on confidence and in my opinion is our best defender. Yes frustratingly inconsistent but a vote of confidence such as the captaincy could be the making of him? Maybe? Anyhow think it will eventually be Gomez but not yet.

7.) 19 Dec 2017 23:24:33
Good question and the fact there are few others that are capable or worthy speaks volumes. We are crying our for 2 or 3 leaders . Problem is they are few and far between.

8.) 19 Dec 2017 23:26:12
If Hendo wasn’t Captain I would give it to Hendo 👍.

9.) 20 Dec 2017 03:26:28
lallana when fit.

10.) 20 Dec 2017 07:49:03
"If Hendo wasn't captain, then the new captain would be whoever Klopp picked" - Michael Owen.

11.) 20 Dec 2017 07:51:52
Spot on, Mikey. Hendo is captain and has been capt. under two managers. Why this is even a discussion, I will never know.

12.) 20 Dec 2017 08:38:49
Id go for lovren. Feel like the responsibility would do him good.

13.) 20 Dec 2017 11:21:11
Karius- it would put the keeper fiasco to bed.

18 Oct 2017 17:36:36
Much preferred Millner as captain a real driving force.

rush1972

1.) 18 Oct 2017 18:21:45
Until he has a poor game or we get beat mate and everyone will winge again.

2.) 18 Oct 2017 18:54:14
Captain material? After one game? Come on, man. You are aware that Hendo had a very good perf. vs Utd and bossed the LC game where he scored the winner, right or are we going to act that all that did not happen? At least, be honest in your assessment is all I'm asking.

Kloppsreds17, I agree with you as well. The moaners will be back moaning after Milner screws up as if our players are not allowed to have bad games anymore.

3.) 18 Oct 2017 19:10:26
Another fan moaning about fans moaning 🤦🏻‍♂. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

4.) 18 Oct 2017 19:37:03
Emre Can, He is a Captain in 2 years time. Make him one now!

5.) 18 Oct 2017 20:05:45
Captain of Juve in two years though, unfortunately.

6.) 18 Oct 2017 20:40:36
Jayden, you are correct about everyone having an opinion. That is not the point. The point is that having a go and slating a player relentlessly just cos he had a bad game is just useless and unproductive as that will not help the situation. Everyone knows that. Frustration is normal BUT self control is more important as you don't ever wanna throw the baby out with the bath water just cos you're peeved.

7.) 18 Oct 2017 21:23:39
Jayden you blame people for stuff you actually do yourself lad you keep winging about other people bringing other teams into it, yet yest you did with spurs. Yes everybody is entitled to there opinion but when you do it 10 times a day it gets tedious, stop dictating and putting folk down thinking you control things here ha ha ha grow up instead of thinking you control people if you don't like what people write why not just pass by instead of thinking you need to give an opinion on every single post that gets wrote trying to micro manage every posters views.

8.) 18 Oct 2017 21:28:59
Knuckles telling people to stop dictating 🤦🏻‍♂🙈.

9.) 18 Oct 2017 21:34:14
Bingo I totally agree with you on the slating of players relentlessly part is out of order. But people predicting he is going to get slated on the assumption of him playing bad before an actual game is being a bit OTT.

10.) 18 Oct 2017 21:54:01
Yes you jayden every post your name is up turning on other peoples posts And your turning things round to make them suit you. Honestly kid you need to grow up fella like you keep saying people are entitled to there opinions without you trying to make out they saying stuff they aren't lad.

11.) 18 Oct 2017 22:22:17
Jayden, I am said that cos it happens all the time on this forum. Have you not been reading the post on here after games? Look at what people have done to Ox. The guy (tho I did not want him hereBUT still gets my support) is yet to play 500 mins for LFC and was getting slaughtered on here cos he did not do a Lionel Messi when was was making cameo appearances. The lad scored vs Maribor and was still getting slated.

Same with Hendo. People want him canned or sold and say he's not been good enough this season, knowing fully well that he is carrying his heel condition and is trying to get fit while at the same time, forgetting that he bossed the LC game and got us the winner and was imperial in the Utd game. You would not know that with the way he gets ripped to bits on here incessantly and even when he plays a good game, nobody mentions that and he gets the blame whenever we lose. That is what I can't stand and will continue to speak out about.

12.) 18 Oct 2017 22:38:50
Bingo my initial post wasn't aimed at you mate. And reflecting now I probably shouldn't have posted my initial post in the first place.

13.) 18 Oct 2017 22:46:05
Oh, sorry Jayden. I too was surprised at the content of the post myself cos I know you must have seen people moan for moaning sake, slating players after having one bad game. Once again, my apologies.

14.) 18 Oct 2017 22:48:34
Well that thread was just ridiculous.

15.) 19 Oct 2017 00:14:55
Bit like a romantic drama.
I hate you. 😡
I'm sorry😥
I always loved you 😘😘.

Regarding our transfer success did it really matter that we got champions league.

rush1972

1.) 01 Sep 2017 13:29:27
No. This year and the year after is important though.

We did sign keita and that wouldn't of happened with Europa league.

We have to consolidate our position now and be a cl team. Semi final after semi final minimum.

Qualifying for one campaign doesn't make you a top team again, same as a boxer winning one fight. You have to keep winning and keep winning.

Mayweather has 50 and no loses and even some people don't call him the greatest. It's all opinion and players have those opin8ons aswel.

All we can do is keep being successful. It won't convince every player but a lot will see that they can achieve with us.

Vvd was fighting to get to us over others so the success can be seen. Just make sure people know it wasn't a fluke like the last times we have had moderately good seasons.

Couple of trophies and top 4 is a minimum now.

2.) 01 Sep 2017 13:32:52
Of course. Would kieta have agreed to sign if we weren't?

3.) 01 Sep 2017 14:04:58
A couple of trophies minimum? One trophy would be great. I'd rather we qualified for next year's ucl and put in a decent showing in this year's. I think the kids will get a chance in the league cup and maybe F. A cup. Personally I'm not that bothered about the two domestic cups.

United and city are our biggest competition this year although write off spurs and Chelsea at your peril. I also think Arsenal fans should sort their nuts out. Defeat to liverpool at anfield and it's the end of the world! They will be pushing for top four, make no mistake about that. Truth be told I think finishing in top four will be easier this year than it was last year. Spurs and arsenal don't look as strong for whatever reason.

4.) 01 Sep 2017 15:02:08
I honestly think getting UCL in this country is very, very hard, so achieving that constantly for the next few seasons would be a major achievement in itself. The other thing is, we failed to win the league, narrowly, on a couple of pretty weak seasons for the other clubs, that will possibly happen again in the next few seasons and the club needs to be able to take advantage of that this time round.

5.) 01 Sep 2017 15:16:46
Spot on, TB. We need to kick on and continue to move in the right direction with what he have achieved since Klopp arrived. We need to be a true CL team every season andf build from there and hopefully, the title will appear at Anfield BUT we have to learn how to win on a consistent basis first. There will be difficult days for sure and this is where we have to hang together and not turn on each other with negativity and finger-pointing.

6.) 01 Sep 2017 15:21:56
You think we should aim and win the carling cup and fa cup?

We should be in both of those finals. That's a minimum.

That's where we should be aiming. Not a lot of people take the darling seriously and we should take advantage of that. As for the fa cup well that's where we have to be at the end of the season. Top 4, had a good run in the cl and a final.

That's Liverpool.

United managed two with a worse team than we ha e now.

15 Aug 2017 14:19:36
The spine of our team just isn't good enough.

rush1972

1.) 15 Aug 2017 14:40:25
Thats why Ancelotti wouldn't take us over. Smart man.

2.) 15 Aug 2017 14:52:21
We have spend considerable amount of money to make it right. Can't blame the owners here. Just that we spend on Klavan and Lovren!

3.) 15 Aug 2017 15:03:47
Klopps net spend is 25 mill.

4.) 15 Aug 2017 15:45:11
And what has Ancelloti achieved at Bayern, exactly? By the way, winning the Bundesliga does not count.

5.) 15 Aug 2017 15:54:58
Haha bingo red. A league title doesn't count in which world.

6.) 15 Aug 2017 16:36:45
Jay, in the world of a one-league team where the one team (Bayern) weakens the competition by buying their best players hence, there is no competition really.

Again, winning the German title for Bayern is just like Celtic winning the Scottish league or Juve winning the Serie A. It does not matter nor does it count.

7.) 15 Aug 2017 16:54:45
So in that case Hoffenheim should be a walkover tonight. What with them coming from a one league team.

13 Aug 2017 20:53:54
I have read here that we have no leaders in the team. Shouldn't Henderson be more of a leader 'he is the captain.

rush1972

1.) 13 Aug 2017 21:21:35
I think Henderson does a good job personally. I think there are many factors tho why there aren't that many leaders in a lot of teams nowadays. But we do seem to be a club lacking. I always think more local lads would help.

2.) 13 Aug 2017 21:22:43
He can't do it all on his pal, east at least need a strong keeper or centre back.

3.) 13 Aug 2017 22:06:47
I said it last season, we have a lot of players who are liable to phone in performances when it's not another team in the top six they're up against.

And Hendo and Milner, whilst they're good pros in their own right who always give everything, aren't strong or vocal enough to captain a team like that and keep people on their toes, imo. They're just too nice, basically.

4.) 13 Aug 2017 22:08:57
i think people are talking about a more directive leader. stevie wasn't this type of leader either. people like carra (and unfortunately I can't think of anyone else recent enough.! ) who would take responsibility of their own sh*t as well as get things organized for their team.

5.) 13 Aug 2017 22:14:11
Big fan of hendo as a player, but was quite saddened by his lack of reaction to the 2nd goal we conceeded.

6.) 13 Aug 2017 23:31:39
No one really reacts when we concede a goal, that's part of the problem.
