So many fickle liverpool fans. Klopp has us playing well and a few bad results and all of a sudden we need a new squad and to invest 100 million in our squad. It's ridiculous the things I've read. Go all out and sign van dijk? Henderson is rubbish apparently when he dominated pogba last week. I trust klopp he's the best manager we have had in recent years. Would you rather we go back to hodgson Rodgers or Dalglish? Every team has a dip we have to realise that. We need to get behind the team and support them. Not go out and spend 10 billion on a new squad. Look how well spurs are doing from good recruitment, good manager and a strong team spirit.

1.) 21 Jan 2017 18:12:35
Couldnt agree more. I've started to not go on match chat room on here as I can't stand the so called "fans". Just suck it up. You win some you lose some.

2.) 21 Jan 2017 18:13:25
our defence has been dire all season we've just been scoring gor fun but now that side of things has slowed down in the ladt few weeks it shows how fragile we are . we do actually need a centre back and possibly a keeper .

3.) 21 Jan 2017 18:27:07
The team is playing badly since four games running now and still they shouldn't be criticized?
Every one of the players that played today had full one week rest except maybe coutinho. Should they play so lethargically and slow?
Sorry not acceptable.

And yes we do need signings maybe not now but definitely in the summer. People say we are missing mane. But simple stuff is we shouldn't need to have such a massive effect missing one player. We need someone similar.

Youth will have its say when they are ready but they definitely aren't right now.
Also I just hope klopp has second thoughts on the interview he gave yesterday that we don't need a new LB.

We definitely need one if not 2. Milner and Moreno is just NO.
No one's saying spend 100+ million but yes the squad needs refreshing and depth.

4.) 21 Jan 2017 18:35:49
It's pretty plain to see that without pace up top (mane) we are a completely different team. Lallana in that position along the top 3 doesn't work and we miss him Terribly in That deeper role.
Our system has changed in recent weeks to accommodate the loss of mane, and it shows.
You mention Rodgers, his downfall came from his change in shape and mind set, so those saying we need to improve the squad are quite right and we need to recruit players who can play klopps system. Or the alternative is that the manager coaches a different system with the players at his disposal.
It's all frustration from the loss, but some points are very valid

5.) 21 Jan 2017 18:50:21
Agree with navjot, we need some leaders which we don't have enough of. Henderson is too hit and miss to be a top player and emre has let me down I had great hope for him but he seems useless lately

6.) 21 Jan 2017 19:09:03
I would get timid it were a dip in form but it's not. It's several games where we have looked poor. Not just tired here and there but poor and we haven't got the chocolates.

United we let cut us open a few times, and except for some poor finishing we got the draw, and threw away the 3 points
Against Bournemouth we showed our inability to hold onto a lead. We were terrible vs west ham, and struggled vs sunder land. We aren't linking well with Studge, Studge and origi haven't clicked yet and probably won't if we keep operating a false 9.
The team has pretty much dropped the press since Hendo was injured and lallana got pushed further forward. Bobby clearly requires Pipco to operate a 100% several poorly played games without a strong result, for me is indicative of more than a blip

7.) 21 Jan 2017 19:15:12
Missing Mane!
But can't help thinking we should settle on a centre back pairing and allow them to develop.

Top 4 is what we should be hoping for this year. Let's be realistic

8.) 21 Jan 2017 19:20:52
Yeah we have had our best forward, midfielder and defender out the last few weeks. Still in top 4. Would bite your arm off at that in August.

9.) 21 Jan 2017 19:23:42
Not for me nav. Milner is probably one of our best performers this season. Not the fastest but I can not remember anyone doing him with pace. His reading of the game has been very good, would rather see him on the right for his delivery. Clyne just offers nothing going forward, the guy has trouble even with simple passes at times. Defensively he can be suspect, nothing to do with today but he gets caught ball watching, take his pace away and we have a very average play in him.
Keeper I don't think we need replacing, I'd let mings go and I'd be more than happy to let karius and ward fight it out next season. Sure mistakes will happen but they are both young and should learn.

Can is a player I am concerned about.
Not sure if it is lack of confidence or game time. There is something I like about the lad just not sure what it is, and not sure whathis best position is. Not enough quality up the field and the worst timing of jumps for headers I've ever seen this includes Sunday league.

10.) 21 Jan 2017 19:32:47
Losing 3-2 at home to Swansea is meant to be criticized. Doesn't mean fans are fickle. When should fans wait to criticize the team? At the end of the season when the team doesn't get a champions league spot?

11.) 21 Jan 2017 19:50:39
Lack of proper defending lost us the match not a loss of mane.

12.) 21 Jan 2017 19:54:36
Usually you can take at least a couple of positives from a bad performance but this is not one of them times. From start to finish we were terrible. Henderson and Can constantly giving the ball away, Lallana playing out of position and the the shambles that was Clyne, Lovern and Klavan. Seriously annoyed with that result and i don't want to hear " it was a once off result " because we all know it wasn't.

13.) 21 Jan 2017 20:43:47
Agree wholeheartedly with the sentiments. However, something has to be done about the defence. When Matip doesn't play the defence panics. Any balls into the box and they panic. Van Dijk seems to be similar to Matip in terms of his ability to read the game. If we can sell Sakho and Lovren I'd buy someone like Van Dijk.
I'd also drop Clyne and Can. Can is having a shocker and Clyne is consistently poor. Get TAA in at right back.

14.) 21 Jan 2017 21:17:53
I think that Swansea had a strong game plan, and played to it really well,
so I say, well played Swansea .

15.) 21 Jan 2017 21:32:34
I agree with a previous post about the live chat. Yes it was a poor performance and yes people have every right to criticise players and their performance but what annoyed me almost as much as the result was the number of fans calling for klopps head and reminiscing the days of Rafa. I mean seriously? Come on!

What some people seem to be forgetting is that under klopp we've gone from a team that was seriously looking at a possible relegation/ bottom half finish under rogers to a domestic and European cup final in half a season without any significant signings. We've then progressed to a team that prior to today's game were second in the league, top scorers, undefeated at home and still in a cup semi final and FA cup. All this has been achieved with only two major additions in Mane and Matip.

People need to realise and appreciate the progress made we've made in such a short space of time as well as realise that our first team can compete with the best but importantly our squad as a whole still needs work. We've had a number of injuries and absences which has affected our form. This does not mean the manager does not know what he is doing! Only so much can be done in a short space of time and more importantly only so much money can be spent. The last thing we need is another Steven caulker!

And I'm not even going to justify the Rafa remerks with a response!

16.) 22 Jan 2017 02:50:04
Sorry redhead 101
Criticise Rodgers all you want after all his spiel but please do not mention him in the same sentence as Kenny.
You seem to forget what Kenny took over from, what he won in his first full season and the way he was off loaded by fsg in favour of Rodgers.

and that doesn't include all he won and done as a player, manager. And a leading campaigner for the 96 WHILE it was still an impossible dream for justice.
Thanks for listening.

{Ed025's Note - i will buy into that dermot mate..

17.) 22 Jan 2017 16:01:41
Matip? And karous

Claiming you want a new keepe, isn't mignoelt the messiah you all cried for?

Karius and matip in the team. Mane back and we qill be just fine.

18.) 23 Jan 2017 02:01:01
The only thing Mingolet and the Messiah have in common is one was crucified and the other should.

Both not fond of high crosses either.

{Ed025's Note - good stuff dermot..

19.) 23 Jan 2017 16:42:51
Thanks Ed.

{Ed025's Note - no problem mate..

20.) 25 Jan 2017 02:44:22
Hi Ed
Can you clear up a point of contention with me and my mate.
Is the club carrying much debt?

If so is the club in good financial fettle?

And lastly how is Danny inges injury recovery coming along and will he be fit for next season?
Thanks

{Ed002's Note - (1) Yes and even with the owners writing some debt off the club has a lot. (2) Yes the TV money has seen to that. (3) The club has not provided an updated about him recently.}

21.) 25 Jan 2017 15:15:37
Thanks for the reply Ed.
I don't think the first team squad is carrying any dead weight now bar SaKho.
I'd say our wage bill has dropped massively as well but the new stand needs paying for but will pay for itself.
But I'm concerned about the status of our club as not so long ago we could compete with any club in the country for a player but not now we seem to be dropping down the order of clubs to attract players.

{Ed002's Note - How do you expect the stand to pay for itself - and how long do you think that will take?}

22.) 25 Jan 2017 23:20:22
Sorry Ed.
I meant the increased revenue from the extra seats in the w new stand and maybe naming rights over the years will cover the cost of construction.

Like Arsenal have done at the Emirates. The increased revenue from the Naming rights and increased corporate and public seating means they are now debt free apparently.

{Ed002's Note - They sold naming rights to the stadium, can generate far more corporate income than Liverpool, have higher priced seats and did not spend on players whilst paying for it. Liverpool are not in that position so the comparison doesn't work.}

04 Aug 2015 12:44:53
bit of a negative post but curious to find out what your responses are. What do you think is the biggest mistake Rodgers has made being liverpool manager?

I would have to go with benching Carra first 6 months of his reign which probably lead to him retiring (when he was by far our best defender)

A close second is selling Maxi. What an under-rated player he was. Always grabbed a goal and didn't exactly sell him for a lot either

redhead101

1.) 04 Aug 2015 13:09:15
Simple. Losing the league.

It was ours to lose and we did.

2.) 04 Aug 2015 13:18:21
I'll go with appointing Pascoe.

He needed a number 2 with experience who could help him pick a player. In general transfer dealings have been woeful except for 1 window when we bought Sturridge and Coutinho. This window is yet to be judged.

3.) 04 Aug 2015 13:30:12
The constant souring of relationships, between he and players(our own and others)
Carragher,Reina,Sahin,Sakho,Sterling,Salah,Agger, sinclair the list goes on I can't even remember. half the lads he's pissed off.

4.) 04 Aug 2015 13:34:10
Last two seasons Rodgers made the same mistake. In our title race, we lost to Chelsea when all we needed was a draw and last year we lost to Man Utd when a draw would have seen us finish 4th.

Both games no other great manager would have ever lost, it may not have been pretty or part of the "philosphy" but it was what needed to be done.

5.) 04 Aug 2015 13:34:57
Completely agree with Wassa we could of won the league but some rookie mistakes let us down. Gutting

6.) 04 Aug 2015 13:35:26
Selling Dirk Kuyt and Daniel Agger both for peanuts for me. Keeping Skrtel over Agger is unforgivable for me. I was gutted when Dirk left as well because they both loved the club so much

7.) 04 Aug 2015 13:44:55
Mine would have to be ballsing up the signing of Bony which resulted in us signing Balotelli. Worst. Signing. Ever.

8.) 04 Aug 2015 13:47:40
Play for a draw is idiotic. You play to win. That's what the greats do

And for the record we would of won the league if captain fantastic hadnt of slipped on his hoop :)

Brendan did all that was expected in that season, as did everyone else. It was one slip that's all.

9.) 04 Aug 2015 14:12:42
Thomo121, One of the daftest post I have read in a long time. Keep players just because they love the club. Danny Murphy loved the club are you suggesting we shouldn't have sold him also

10.) 04 Aug 2015 14:27:42
That fake Tan

11.) 04 Aug 2015 14:47:55
That's right Ron, it's never your man crush " THE TEETH ", is it? Put all the blame on his poor assistants just like that RAT did! Tell you what Ronald, you've definitely put all your eggs in one basket haven't you lad, when he gets sacked you'll be on suicide watch!

12.) 04 Aug 2015 15:13:12
His biggest mistake was becoming Liverpool boss when he wasn't ready to.
Too many mistakes to really list here and that says it all.
I'm hoping his new back room staff can guide him properly this year, they can't and won't be just yes men and will likely have more power than Rodgers would like but it's what's needed.

13.) 04 Aug 2015 15:39:51
No forever96.

The greats always ensure first and foremost that you don't lose.

14.) 04 Aug 2015 16:13:06
Red Since not just because they loved the club, they were both very good players especially Agger who never should have been sold over Skrtel. If you don't think Kuyt and Agger were good players then you are mad. It's in the past but they were great professionals and great players

15.) 04 Aug 2015 16:18:45
Lol@Waro. My thoughts should he get sacked are well documented so, respectfully RTFP.

How is "not picking a decent number 2" NOT Rodgers fault?

You're losing the plot a bit Waro.

16.) 04 Aug 2015 17:22:03
Well well well Ronald, that's my last two posts you've replied to now, funny how ( as I predicted ) you failed to reply to my first post yesterday because what was it " I only have time to scan quickly through the posts so must have missed what i had asked you ",hahaha.

Let's go back to your point here though, your saying his biggest mistake out of EVERYTHING he's done ( and I'll defend BR here ) was not having the ability to see into the future and realize that he should have discarded his right hand man who he'd had relative success with @ Swansea because 3 years down the line the lack of a more experienced No 2 was the answer to his many failings? Is that what your saying Ronald?

That to me if you cut away the BS from your post, is YET another excuse from you for keeping a poor manager in charge of one of the worlds biggest and most iconic football clubs!

By your reasoning here ( and I think someone else has said this in this thread ) his biggest mistake was not saying " sorry this jobs to big, I'm NOT EXPERIENCED ENOUGH YET ", now that is a comment I will accept.

As I said last night Ronnie me boy, your just like your man crush, " A BLAGGER & A BLUFFER ", FACT!!

17.) 04 Aug 2015 17:56:34
I love you too Waro, more than I love BR.

Xx

18.) 04 Aug 2015 18:50:50
Oh Ronald i'm flattered😳😳, a career in politics awaits you I think fella!

19.) 04 Aug 2015 18:51:04
BRs biggest issues for me are his remarkable ability to alienate players and inability to accurately assess a players qualities. Whether it is down to him favouring those he gets on with better or for another reason it is detrimental to the team. Case in point is Agger who was our best defender by a country mile but Rodgers didn't rate and so alienated him and sold him for peanuts. It looks like he will do the same with Texiera who is already head and shoulders above Allen. I apologise for the rant but our manager really is a concern, I just hope the new coaches can help with these inadequacies.

20.) 04 Aug 2015 19:36:59
His biggest problem was signing too many players and expecting them to gel.

By the time they should ofbstarted to adapt, the morale of the team was low and the manager was fighting an uphill battle.

I'm hoping it's.not the same this season.

21.) 04 Aug 2015 20:38:08
biggest mistake Real Madrid away total disrespect for travelling fans and a smack in the chops for SG. also the sight of him clueless standing in the rain soaked to bone not knowing what to do when getting battered by palace I think that showed us up no end!

22.) 04 Aug 2015 22:52:23
The one big thing for me is his lack of a plan B. When everyone in the stadium can see what needs to change, except him.

23.) 05 Aug 2015 00:08:17
Waro, you are spot on with Ron. He and BR belong together because they think alike. Nothing is ever their fault, it's always someone else who needs to take the blame while they take the credit and when all else fails, throw your trusted and devoted number two to the wolves to save your own skin. True men of integrity and honor that would make great politicians but aweful football managers.

24.) 05 Aug 2015 09:49:36
Please, no more one moment of blame on Stevie. Yeah, he slipped, but if you want one moment that lost us the league it was Hendo's red card. That's what was different for those last few games. Gutting, I know, and I've followed the Reds since 1964, and waited since 1990 for us to win again. Twice so close in all those years. Never mind top four, let's win it.

Just watched footballs greatest steven gerrard. best player I've ever seen in my life. Is anything happening when he leaves this summer like a ceremony?

redhead101

1.) 01 May 2015 03:01:23
Great player who should always be revered as a Liverpool great. The downside is I felt he had his best season in the right hand side under rafa but later refused to play there so not a great club man but an outstanding individual player. For me Xabi alonso was always our best midfielder when at the club. I know many pros have said that Gerrard was the best player they played with and are definitely better judges than me. That said I'm entitled to my opinion and for me Xabi alsonso was always a better centre midfielder due to his awareness and positioning. However in his prime I don't think there have been many better right sided midfielders than Gerrard. Shame he refused to play there

2.) 01 May 2015 09:16:26
He wouldn't have won us the CL or the cup final playing right sided midfield

3.) 01 May 2015 12:06:59
at istanbul he played every position bar keeper, suprised he never went in goal for pens

02 Jun 2014 13:02:40
apparently QPR are looking to sign Ashley Williams for a bargain £4m? Why are we not showing an interest? We need a solid defender and BR knows him well from his time at Swansea

redhead101

{Ed002's Note - Is all of this "why aren't we interested in ..." nonsense going to continue all summer? If so we can cut back on the editing as there will be nothing of interest.

we are a bit thin on the ground defensively. If clyne and milner get injured who would step into their shoes? Would like to see Flanno back personally.

I see Can getting replaced. Milner is currently playing right wing. I would be disappointed if we accommodate Can by sticking Hendo out on the wing. Hendos best position is CM and I would rather him play alongside an experienced Lucas rather than a raw Can. Lucas is 1 of the first names on the team sheets for me.

EG- i've been reading your posts for months now and have realised that you are quite strange. If you cannot compare 2 wingers like Ibe and Sterling (Sterling plays on the wing for MC), then who can you compare?

yes they are different people, they have different attributes, but they play the same position so stop trying to play it down with technicalities like Ibe is more direct because no 2 players will be exactly the same

maxlfc, you are definitely contradicting yourself.

you are also wrong about Wenger never changing his style. he changed it against City and Spurs and went more defensive. also at the beginning of his career he played counter attacking football and preferred physical players like Vieira, Adams, Keown, Lauren. Now he is more technical and possession based.
