Eds, who will be fired for this saga?

raviance

{Ed001's Note - I very much doubt anyone will lose their job. They should, but it won't happen.}

1.) 08 Jun 2017 06:52:38
Edwards should go as head of transfers he should have made sure the club was not put in this position.

{Ed001's Note - has he been there long enough to alter anything? I think he should be given the chance to resolve this first.}

2.) 08 Jun 2017 07:19:12
Personally thought it was a crazy appoitment in the first place.

{Ed001's Note - why?}

3.) 08 Jun 2017 07:24:58
His previous role as technical director/ performance analysis gave him experience in how transfers are conducted? Obviously not.

{Ed001's Note - I fail to see how that makes any difference? How many people have any experience in conducting them? The role has far more to it than simply negotiating transfers. Narrow minded comments like yours are embarrassing, give the guy a chance! He might well have the skills needed to perform the role to a high level for all you know.}

4.) 08 Jun 2017 08:50:41
So where does the buck stop for this embaressment if not at the feet of the bloke in charge of transfers.

{Ed001's Note - that depends on who was involved. The guy in charge is new to the role and might well have delegated it out while he got settled in. As for the buck stopping, Klopp is a repeat offender, he has to carry a share of the blame as well.

The question is how to proceed and ensure nothing like this happens again. That is the role that Edwards has to fulfil.}

5.) 08 Jun 2017 10:04:47
I am astounded how Klopp seems to routinely be implicated in these faux pas. Is it just naivety? Or trusting that other people are doing there jobs?

6.) 08 Jun 2017 11:31:37
To be fair ed if we had got a monchi would this of happened. The fella might probe to be good but you can't deny putting someone ibto such a position without any real experience is a silly risk for such a big club as are. The smaller clubs can get away with stuff bt there is so much scruitiny on us we can't mess up.

Its the same issye as appointment a small time manager and big one. You do get different results.

Eds, I read that Ings is back in training. What is the news on Joe Gomez?

raviance

{Ed001's Note - Square Tomato is the best person to ask about that.}

1.) 20 Feb 2016 10:06:40
He's doing great he can run and sprint now he could be working with a ball in April, he's also been saying how brilliant Danny Ings has been in keeping up spirits.

2.) 20 Feb 2016 12:42:19
Good to know Square T. Thanks for your info.

3.) 20 Feb 2016 20:20:24
Totally agree ed about begovic we should of bought him instead of migs all that time ago it seems he's such at waste at Chelsea (no offence) behind coutious don't know how to spell his name sorry.

4.) 21 Feb 2016 08:37:02
I would've loved Begovic when he left stoke and if we can get him now that would be 2/ 3rds of that triangle tgats so important in a team - gk, cbs- subotic again stated by ed02, could be that player- sell the cbs who have failed. .

24 Aug 2013 07:51:35
A question for the eds. Will we be looking at Victor Moses if Willian moves to Chelsea? {Ed002's Note - There has been no interest shown by Liverpool at this time.}

raviance

1.) As decent as I think Moses is I think we should aim a tad higher than him.

2.) We've aimed higher three times this window and missed. Realistically, with just over a week left to secure a wide midfielder, I'd be happy with Moses for 8m. He's used to the league, has tremendous potential and could certainly change a game off the bench or push Aspas/Henderson for a starting role. We might not have expressed interest, but I wish we would. Be better than not adding anyone else, that's for sure.

3.) Let me get this straight youd pay 8 mil for Moses as an impact player from the bench and hopefully push Henderson who Moses is better than anyway and Aspas? Glad your not doing our transfers. You don't just buy players for the sake of it.

Eds, I see some questions being asked repeatedly. Perhaps, you can create a FAQ section and update it once in 3 months or something?

raviance

{Ed002's Note - That exists already in the form of the Sharkopods.}

1.) 04 May 2017 10:04:55
Is there a new Sharkopod due soon mate?

{Ed002's Note - No, you had one recently. There are a couple of others to do first.}

2.) 04 May 2017 22:56:22
I speak for the majority when I say we're very grateful ed 😘.

{Ed002's Note - You are very sweet.}

02 Mar 2017 11:06:04
In the summer, I wish we sign players with good experience and not just youngsters with potential. Grzegorz Krychowiak and Douglas Costa are two I can think. Both have over 200 senior appearances and have won trophies. Opinions please.

raviance

1.) 02 Mar 2017 11:12:08
They would be fantastic signings for me but we have to get Champions League first otherwise we can forget them.

2.) 02 Mar 2017 11:09:27
Someone should ask about Grzegorz Krychowiak on the European page. He is a monster of a CM. Was solid at Sevilla. I would love him at Liverpool. Big tall and excellent on the ball. He is very fast for a DM.

Costa won't happen.

3.) 02 Mar 2017 12:46:46
Douglas Costa? As in the Bayern Munich player? You think a regular starter for Bayern Munich will drop out of guarenteed titles and CL football for us?

4.) 02 Mar 2017 13:43:04
Both fifa signings lad. Great signinfs but unfortunately not going to happen.

They would turn us into monsters.

5.) 02 Mar 2017 14:24:20
Rav, its a catch 22 situation, we need Champions League to attract the best players, but we just can't get into the top four with the players that we have now, so it might take a while .

6.) 02 Mar 2017 14:50:24
As a Polish supporter I know Krychowiak also from NT. He can't get game time right now in PSG, he is workhorse and very professional but is limited on the ball. He's like cross-over of Milner and Lucas.
I'm not sure if he would suit Klopp's style.

7.) 02 Mar 2017 16:10:16
Never watched much of krychowiak but not sure he is what we need, despite being highly rated. Costa most definately, cannot see it happening though.

8.) 02 Mar 2017 16:28:51
Krychowiak and Douglas Costa are both not regulars from their teams this season. I think LFC would struggle to bring them in even if we get CL football, but both would improve the team certainly.

9.) 02 Mar 2017 23:48:17
Krychowiak is a very good player and excellent in our system as Sevilla played the high press under Emery BUT w/ o CL, ain't going to happen.

10.) 03 Mar 2017 01:53:38
What about that Polish lad at the Euros - Kapustka?
He looked pretty decent.

Just realised Kapustka signed for Leicester.
Oh well, could snap him up if they go down 😄.

11.) 03 Mar 2017 08:45:14
Ron, Kapustka disapeared in Leicester reserves. It's hard to admit but polish league is too weak still to look there for players.

12.) 04 Mar 2017 12:38:19
Thanks for all the responses. Yes, we will get them only if we qualify for CL. Costa is not getting regular game time or so i heard. I was surprised to read Kamil's post that Krychowiak is limited on the ball.

28 Dec 2016 06:31:14
Eds, what do you make of Klavan in the last couple of games? Better than what he was at the start of the season?

raviance

{Ed001's Note - last night's game was ideal for him, up against an opponent with no pace and no one breaking from midfield with pace to trouble him either. He has not really developed a partnership with Lovren yet though. When he got dragged over to the right, in the lead up to the goal, the pair of them never really got themselves sorted positionally. However, he did well mostly and he does have a good touch and can pass.}

1.) 28 Dec 2016 16:32:13
His solid performances of late, will definitely help his confidence. I do think his lack of pace is an issue City could profit from with Aguero and midfield runs from Silva, KDB and even Fernandinho. It will be up to our CM`s to track those runs and protect the CB`s from being overrun or isolated.

22 Jul 2016 11:07:45
Are there any plans to hire a DoF at Liverpool Football Club?

raviance

1.) 22 Jul 2016 11:35:02
To remove Jurgen Klopp?

{Ed001's Note - no to plan for the long term, so we don't buy players to block youngsters. Klopp operated under a sporting director at Dortmund.}

04 Jul 2016 13:28:48
How did Ikay Gundogan pass his medical on crutches?

raviance

1.) 04 Jul 2016 14:02:40
Must've hopped? ;)

2.) 04 Jul 2016 15:38:34
slowly?

3.) 04 Jul 2016 16:05:50
Medicals don't mean much if the club truly wants the player and if the injury is not serious. We signed Aquilani while injured and Spurs signed Steed Malbranque injured as well in the past and there are many other examples.

4.) 04 Jul 2016 18:40:52
A medical is just a formality players have to go through. If the club believe they are still worth the purchase or like Gundogan likely to be fit for the start of the season then the medical can be pretty pointless. He may require a private one when he is fit to be insured for the upcoming season.

{Ed001's Note - it is not a formality at all, it is required for insurance purposes, without insurance a player can not be registered to play.}

5.) 04 Jul 2016 18:55:06
If I remember correctly, one of the Eds has said that the buying club would look into type of injury, length of recovery, progression of recovery, and injury history with the player involved.

6.) 04 Jul 2016 19:07:29
Ed01 not sure if this is just heresy but is there any truth in Liverpool fully expecting Torres to fail his Chelsea medical? Hence the last minute scrabble for Carroll?

{Ed001's Note - the last minute scramble for Carroll was because we were turned down by lots of other strikers and got desperate.}

7.) 04 Jul 2016 22:05:50
Thanks Ed.

Absolutely agree with Robin in the Hood. I am miffed every time a Liverpool player leaves for free and delighted when we sign a good player for free. That is not hypocrisy. I am Liverpool fan, not the Secretary General of the UN.

Billy Big Balls, and I am pretty sure UTD won 2 trophies last season and qualified for the Champions League.

I am in no way advocating rash spending or spending for the sake of it. But let us not ignore trophies being won by others.
