Hi eds! Just wanted to know what are your thoughts about Nabil Fekir. I've seen 5-6 games of Lyon following Lacazette, and in the process I noticed Fekir. For me, he seems to have a brilliant future,
and I think he will be the replace of Laczette in next few years. He still has to grow up to be BPL player, but do you know if LFC has looked at him?

nikobaresi

{Ed001's Note - we have been looking at Lacazette, Fekir has been noticed but theyare not looking to sell him.}

1.) 09 Mar 2015 13:03:13
Do you think we have any chance of signing Lacazette Ed? If not, where is he likely to end up?
Cheers

{Ed002's Note - They will not sell both and look likely to let Fekir leave. If Lacazette leaves it will not be to Liverpool.}

Hi edds, was Connor Randal loane to Shrewsbury? By the way, congratulations to Dunn who scored his second goal with Cheltenham, while the other two red lads played the whole game too . A good news some of our kids are winning some experience, hopefully in the future they can get better ones in upper tiers.

nikobaresi

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, for a month initially.}

Eds, there's real interest in Manuel Lanzini? or just media rumours? He'll be good competition for coutinho, or maybe he can even free him from the left wing so that he can play as #10. He may be relatively cheap

nikobaresi

{Ed002's Note - Lanzini has been watched by a number of clubs with interest being shows from as far a field as the Middle East and Japan. He is one of the players looked at by Liverpool in 2012 but we avoid discussing because of the grief it brings.}

Hi edds, sorry if someone already asked this, but from what i read regarding to alisson's possible bid i haven't seen anything of what i'll ask. I wanted to know if we do get alisson, that will mean we won't go for Fekir (for financial issues) or do you think are unrelated.

nikobaresi

{Ed002's Note - They are unrelated.}

Edds, Have one of you ever heard the story of Carlos Kaiser (Carlos Henrique Raposo)? He is known as the biggest cheat in southamerican football history. Would be awesome if one of you know the story as it is and share it with us; its a really good football anecdote.

nikobaresi

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, he is on the list of articles I want to write.}

Great edd. That's a great fun story, i'd like to know more details than the few things i know.

{Ed001's Note - it is an amazing story, he was a proper spoofer.}

Fellows happy 2018. I've been out for some days with family so I haven't been able to give you my best wishes for this year for all of you fans and edds. I'm so sorry for your loss edd 01, it's hard to see a friend go, hope he's in a better place.

In regards to coutinho's replacement I'd love to see fekir in Liverpool's shirt; not exactly his direct replacement but those definitely would be make up the next fab four. I guess it will not be possible for this transfer window and I think he'll be off to one of the bigger clubs in europe, but he'll be my choice. This time we have a much better team and with or without direct replacement in this window I hope and think we can still make top 4. Cheers and the best 2018 for all.

Edd001 i'm not completely sure you haven't been asked this (sorry if it was), but what is your view on Lovren?

nikobaresi

{Ed001's Note - in what way mate?}

1.) 24 Aug 2017 16:04:31
Looks out of 10 please Ed.

{Ed001's Note - oh he is defo a 6.}

As always great insights. Stil I have a couple of questions for you Ed 002, and a couple of comments.

1. I know we have made many mistakes appointing Sporting directors; but i wish to know what would make a candidate for Sporting director a good fit for this job, and what would make him/ her a good fit for liverpool sporting director spot.

2. In your point about Wrest Power Back from the Players, you talk about player's image rights, oeher third parties payments, and some of the other clauses you would addemend. So my question, is there any big club that right now has this kind of clauses on their players (specially on their star players) . I ask, beacuse as mucha as this is desirable, i can't imagine players and specially agents, nowdays would like to sign this kind of clauses.

3. I don't know if this was part of your point about football business, but our status and image in the transfer system has been awful for years. So if we can't clean our image, and if we can't get a good mix of players in tranfer windows we will continue in a all life transition team, just bringing good prospects or signing lots of mediocre players, never stablishing a team that can really compete at the highest level again.

4. I love Klopp, he has made a stronger team and squad, but you are right he should have found some solutions by now in problems we have had for a long long time. Stil impressed Migs's our number 1 (I like the lad, but just can't have him as n1 of a team trying to win PL and CL) . Defense and the issue of fitness/ rotation/ consistence are just other.

Hopefully we'll get back into greatest teams again. Since one or two years i think we are finally going forward; just hope we continue to go that way.

nikobaresi

{Ed002's Note - (1) Yes, Liverpool has screwed up. Better options would be the likes of Rangnick, Zorc, Monchi, Marotta or Raul Sanllehi (who has just joined Arsenal. The pick would be Luis Campos. (2) Yes, at least one Liverpool player benefitted from substantial payments up until recently from image rights. Other clubs have players who have a serioes of strange clauses. In the past there have been players paid in classic cars and oil paintings and many paid off shore in tax free havens. Most of that has gone. (3) Liverpool need to act professionally for a sustained period if the wish to build a good image and have other clubs show respect to them. (4) Klopp is a good manager but the great manager learn from their mistakes.}

Taking into account our finances I completely agree with your choises Ed002 (with exception of Sanson who I haven't seen enough). I will add Luis Adriano to forward list.

nikobaresi

{Ed002's Note - I am a little surprised that there is no firm interest from Liverpool, AC Milan or Arsenal in Adriano at this time. It should be Darmain not Germain.}

Wasn't stupid numbers tu buy Carrollo for 35m, Johnson for 19m, Coates and Ilori for 7m each one, and perhaps markovic and Lallana for 20 ans 25m respectively, etc?? The problem not always is to overpay or not for some players, but to overpay for the wrong ones; something we are experts for.

In this one i must be against you edd and fellas. As you say he is a very cultured, skilful and intelligent midfielder, so in many occasions it is a pleasure to watch him but if he was in my team it would also be a pain to watch him in several games. Perhaps he have covered a lot of ground for his teams and maybe he is most of the time positionally ok, but in my point of view most of the time this is a waste of effort is in the real moment when you need to tackle, to make a hard man-marking or an aggresive press he just doesn't do it, this makes many players to take advantage of this as many just pass nearby him with much less effort than by the side of a player who will not let him get through so easily, this means he is not able to delay many of the other's team attacks. Also I've never seen him block a player on a one-two pass of when a player is running to a space, which again leads to the other team to be able to have a direct attack just by passing through him leaving many times just the RB/ LB against 2 players.

Now Ozil is a top top first touch player, and he usually knows how to move, and he does creates chances which turn on goals as you pointed. But i can't remember many times he takes the ball, dribbles and he himself create a whole chance from his feet, just like Iniesta or david silva do (just to point 2 players with similar abilities and flaws) . He is more a player who takes the ball makes a pass and runs to a space in order to create this kind of chances, so in many games this will be more predictable and easily to mark, if the defense of the other team can block the spaces where he runs. I think this is the thing that makes me be more dissapointed of him, because he will never take a team in his back, just like top top players do. He will depend in many ways of the other players in his team to be effective in creating chances. Arsenal fans loved more likes of Sanchez (ven when Ozil can be far better technically), because he with his attitude created chances, but also inspired the team, while likes of Ozil will be looked as great heartless players.

I will never know if is because of his flaws he himself never be confident enough to take the ball and make something extraordinary (apart from passing) to make his team react to a moment of need, or if it is he really don't want to make that effort, or he believes in his teammates to as a whole make a change, either way i will never be a complete fan of Ozil just because i think he will never lead a team to anything.

We will have a very narrow tie against England. We will miss James, but we have a decent team that can get the best of each player when we are motivated to: Colombia is a team that uses to play their best football against "big teams", is like having 11 wijnaldums. We also prefer to have teams that like to play the ball rather than teams who park the bus, as we are short and most of our team has no pace, and we have good players creating long range passing chances.

We feel just like you. If we get into next round we may have a shot of winning the WC, considering how accesible are the keys before the final.

So fair play, and I hope we have a good game worthy of a knockout game of a world cup. Go Colombia!
