Hi Ed's, what's going to happen with Ter Stegen and Halilovic, are they still Barca bound?

liljack23

{Ed002's Note - Both deals are expected still to go through.}

1.) Even do barca is unable to complete any transfers the comming 2 windows?

{Ed002's Note - Of course. Again, this is something for the Barcelona or European page - it is nothing to do with Liverpool.}

19 Mar 2014 13:36:34
hi ED's, anyone interested in Marco Marin, saw him playing the other day for a spanish club (I can't remember what club) and he looked pretty good from what I saw =)

liljack23

{Ed002's Note - He would like to stay at Sevilla and they would like to keep him - but it will be a matter of whether or not they can offer enough money or other deal to Chelsea. He will move on this summer.}

1.) I suspect he will try to stay as far as possible away from the EPL.

29 Jan 2014 14:30:31
hi ed's, what's the situation with Alvaro Morata? it looks like Anchelotti doesn't rate him. Also has anyone showed interest in Kiko Casillas? a GK from Espanyol, not for us, I like Migs, but he seems pretty good. Also have we showed an interest for Matuidi? cheers

liljack23

{Ed001's Note - he is just a kid, Madrid would let him go out on loan if they can recall him in need but they are not looking to sell. No idea about Casillas at all sorry. Matuidi is out of our reach, City are highly interested in him.}

1.) Cheers for the reply, Morata's 21, and Jese Rodriguez (20) gets quite a lot of game time. And it's Casilla, no s,
my bad.

08 Dec 2013 19:50:09
Hi Eds has anyone showed interest in Berardi?

liljack23

{Ed002's Note - Crystal Palace and Cardiff enquired after loans for Berardi in the summer.}

21 Aug 2013 10:59:18
Hey ED's, just a few questions of questions :)
have we spoken to Arda Turans agent? would he be open to a move to us? have we showed any interest in Lamela? and is anybody interested in Muriel?, I know there are WP issues but if a club was that interested surely they'd try. Cheers {Ed001's Note - his agent has spoken to us, we have also spoken to Turan's club regarding him. His agent spoke to us at Arda's request, he would love to join us. We have been showing interest in Lamela all summer, but not done much about it, for numerous reasons, including his ownership. There is a lot of interest in Muriel, though it is mostly restricted to other Italian clubs now.}

liljack23

1.) We should buy either turan or lamela,

2.) Would be interesting to see if we make moves for Turan, lamella or Muriel in the next week or so after other targets have moved elsewhere.
Turan would be a great move at the right price, seems he would walk over hot coals to come here.

3.) Thanks for replying, regarding Lamela, ownership issues within AS Roma? or do River Plate still own a percentage? {Ed001's Note - I have no idea who owns the other bits, but it is not within AS Roma, they only hold part of him, as did his previous club. Probably agents, even corporations invested in him.}

4.) Ed001, is that something we have done lately. Speaking to Turan's agent that is.
Keep up the good work. {Ed001's Note - yes.}

5.) How recent was the contact with Turan Ed? {Ed001's Note - just before Anzhi went into meltdown, I believe. At least that was when I was told about it.}

6.) Hi Eds
Do any of you know why the club have not tried to sign Turan over the past few seasons when he would love to play for us. Surely having a player that would love to play for us is better then one that did not care?
He has skill & would improve the team.
Cheers {Ed001's Note - there were fears over his consistency and ability to cope with the Prem.}

7.) So basically we are interested in both Lamela & Turan but Lamela looks unlikely due to the fee and ownership issues where as Turan would jump at the chance to join us, we won't bid anymore for Willian as we don't rate him the same as Anzhi or Spurs so hopefully we will finally bid for Turan, tbh I haven't seen too much of Turan to judge him but I gather he is very skillful, good dribbling skills and gets a fair amount of goals so wouldn't be a bad signing if were serious this time.

8.) Ed001's on the back of this do you expect us to try to sign Arda Turan? {Ed001's Note - personally no, he doesn't seem to be the type of player we are looking for.}

9.) Eds do you see us making a bid? {Ed001's Note - I just don't think he is the pacey forward type we are looking for.}

10.) If LFC could pull it off I think Turan would be an amazing buy! Better than Willian, not only cause of his talent but because you know he would love to play for this club! He would have great hunger and pride wearing this shirt! Just the kind of player we need! What are your opinions eds?

11.) Ed001 can you still see us signing an attacker? {Ed001's Note - if we can get one, yes.}

Hey Reds, I think if we are going for Navas, as 002 seems to believe (rodeo clowns rarely make mistakes) its likely Klopp hasn't lost faith in Karius, Navas isn't exactly a long term solution, and I feel he is more competition for Karius than a number 1, which is what Allison or any GK with a big pricetag would expect. Only time will tell if Karius can infact carry us or if he will crumble under pressure, but im backing him and Klopp, and if he can't hack it, atleast we have a decent backup, i have watched Keylor somewhat, being a part time madrid supporter and I put him above Migs.

liljack23

1.) 22 Feb 2018 11:10:03
Navas would only come to us is we told him he was number 1.

2.) 22 Feb 2018 11:35:50
liljack I'd agree with that theory, Klopp seems to have a very progressive way of doing transfers and building teams. I feel like if Karius continues to perform then an older experienced keeper will come in to replace migs ala Navas. And if Karius doesn't perform to the required standard he will look for a more suitable first choice ala Alisson! Seems smart to me.

3.) 22 Feb 2018 11:37:41
Then maybe he doesn't come then.

4.) 22 Feb 2018 12:02:16
Spot on, Putney. Navas, a Real Madrid first choice who has won 2 CL's one La Liga and several other pots, is going to come here and "compete" with a young, talented GK with NO trophies nor pedigree yet to his name. If you believe that, I have a swamp full of gators down in Florida I'd like to sell you. Utter horse manure. Navas if he comes, is going to start and Karius won't stay to be second choice after building up his career at Anfield after what he went thru and endured from the haters. NO CHANCE.

Oh and btw to those saying Navas is an upgrade on Karius, I propose you go watch his game vs Betis on Sun where he was responsible for 2 of their 3 goals. And there's a lot more where that came from as well.

5.) 22 Feb 2018 13:02:44
I am not one for dissing our players or prospective players.

Haven't seen any of Navas, however the argument that he has won this that and the other makes him good is just not true.

Exhibit A: Claudio Bravo.

6.) 22 Feb 2018 13:06:06
Real Madrid want to sll though BRover is a key point. I doubt Navas would chose to leave otherwise.

7.) 22 Feb 2018 13:06:38
BRover, what career has Karius built here? And what did he go through that many goal keepers have and still go through weakly. It’s a tough position in professional football where your mistakes cost matches, if he is not strong enough to cope with that then he has picked the wrong profession.
DebGea took much worse abuse for much longer but is incredibly strong and that shows in his current ranking as one of the top GK in the world.
There’s enough excuses being made for Karius, he needs to stop the recurring mistakes and man up or get replaced.

8.) 22 Feb 2018 13:15:21
BRover, see also:
Napoli
Las Palmas
Dortmund
Sociedad
PSG (the goal he conceded was bread and butter stuff) .

There’s loads more too. He’s only kept three clean sheets all season and he’s begins a better midfield and defence than ours.

I’ve watched a lot of Madrid and he’s the weak link in their team.

9.) 22 Feb 2018 14:36:54
BRover and Putney, on the contrary. Just because you can't see how a player would move doesn't mean it wouldn't happen. Claudio bravo, Romero, that other Barcelona keeper whose name I forget, they all left top teams number 1 spot for a back up Role. Some players understand their level and when the time has come to move on. Real don't want him, and he isn't a top top keeper, I'm not saying we are getting him, but I find it completely viable that he replaces migs and becomes Karius' no2.

10.) 22 Feb 2018 14:38:12
Also BRover, not one person on this thread has mentioned Navas being better than Karius?

11.) 22 Feb 2018 15:35:09
Neither of them are the answer. Until we address the goalkeeping issue seriously we will continue losing our best players who want to win things but know that, however many goals they score, the keeper will throw more in at the other end.

12.) 22 Feb 2018 15:30:19
I am sorry but we are supposed to buy who is better than the current one’s. If we are comparing Navas to Karius and Migs then that says it all lol.

13.) 22 Feb 2018 15:33:31
Victor Valdez you mean TIA? And they all flopped mate! Didn’t they?

14.) 22 Feb 2018 17:42:42
Valdez was a poor keeper. Couldn’t ever understand why Barcelona stuck with him. Was completely found out when he played in the premier league.

Ed 002 (I think), when you said that there would be talk very soon about Oxlade Chamberlain with regards to Liverpool (or words to that effect, can't find the post, may have dreamed it) was that to do with him liking a comment on instagram or is it unrelated? I recon he would be a decent signing personally, in Klopp we trust :)
Hope all is well
J.

liljack23

{Ed002's Note - I know nothing of Instagam to be honest, but perhaps it is that. You live a clearly very enlightened life.}

1.) 08 Aug 2017 07:48:49
Seriously can't understand how people think he's a decent footballer, he's a slightly over weight Andros Townsend at best, with worse shooting.

{Ed001's Note - he is absolutely nothing like Andros Townsend in any aspect of his play.}

2.) 08 Aug 2017 09:13:27
Runs down blind alleys, is very one dimensional in his play, no intelligence on the ball and relies on physical prowess rather than skill or guile.

{Ed001's Note - Townsend uses pace to a degree, but he also thinks he has skill, hence his tendency to run down blind alleys as he thinks he can get out of them. Oxlade-Chamberlain wants to link play, Townsend wants to be on the end of things. Totally different types of players.}

3.) 08 Aug 2017 07:30:26
Ed is the post in question deleted?

{Ed002's Note - What?}

4.) 08 Aug 2017 10:38:08
Ed002 I feel Laddie Bunton was referring to the post where you mentioned future talk of the Ox (you may just be messing with us, it's hard to tell a lot of the time) I just read about him liking said post on instagram (not much of a social media-man myself) and put two and two together, not overly enlightened just yet, and FranklyMrShankly I seriously can't understand how people think they know more than the club, it's just ridiculous, how many times have you watched Chamberlain play in the past year or so? cos I can asure you one or more professionals at the club will have been watching him quite in depth over the years and frankly I trust their views more than yours, weird, i know.

26 Oct 2014 18:02:14
I think part of our problem this season is we're lacking team spirit, with Suarez, not only did we have an amazing footballer, but we had a player who would literally bite someone's hand off to win a game, and the whole team felt his hunger to win. This season we have Balotelli, who although is obviosly a talented footballer, lacks a bit of enthusiasm, I'm not saying he doesn't care, and I'm not blaming him for any poor result, but someone needs to show a bit more fire, because the whole team will see it and it will no doubt make them want to try harder.

liljack23

1.) Maybe the Goddamn captain Steven Gerrard should be doing that.
Oh and give up blaming Mario for everything, it can't all be his fault and he shouldn't be the first player mentioned in almost every post.
It's Steven Gerrard job to motivate the team on the pitch he's the bloody captain, those who have had the honour to captain teams in sport or work know how important your position is, to me Gerrard is badly lacking in this department this year.

2.) Mcgoveb, why don't you read what he put before slating him? He said he's not blaming him for poor results. What he is blaming him for, however, is his lack of enthusiasm and the lack of will to win the game which is exactly true. If we had someone upfront with a bit of energy and worked harder we'd have scored a few more goals than we have. Don't forget Mcgoveb, he hasn't scored a single premier league goal this season. His only goal coming against Ludogorets at home. He's every bit to blame for the lack of goals scored. No one is blaming him for the poor defence but it is still his job to score goals.

3.) The great Eusebio, my apologies, my point was made at liljacks comment that Suarez had that will to win and it's missing now, that is what the captain of any team should be doing and that is seriously missing in Gerrards game, watch him next time and see if he does a captains job at ANY stage of a game.
My point regarding Balloteli is purely down to frustration at the huge amount of posts here which seem to mention him with regard to all our problems.

Let's be honest here, if we were harder to score against we would be in a much much better position even with our minimal goal scoring than we are now.
The root of all our problems this season and last to be honest is how bad our Defense, goal keeping and DM have been.
Fix these problems and like Chelsea become hard to score against then we can look at the attack

4.) The only thing I agree with you on Mcgoveb is the fact that we need to be harder to beat until we figure out our attacking issues. As for the rest of your post, I`ll pass on commenting on it.

Rakitic had another good game against Valencia, every time I've watch Seville play he's looked really good, think he would be great for us.
Parejo didn't play brilliantly, probably because Seville know how important he is for Valencia and were on him every time he got the ball, but he could have done better.
Looking forward to the next leg =)

Hi Ed's, did Atletico Madrid buy Diego for 1.3M? if they did that's a hell of a deal, I'm sure he's on high wages, but that's cheap. Sad about not getting Kono, their president obviously rates him, I reckon we'll get top 4, next up West Brom, come on you Reds!

liljack23

{Ed002's Note - When he was 18.}

1.) Diego ribas from wolfsburg not d.costa, this season. lol

2.) Ah I think they've loaned him, but his contract runs out in June, so yeah, good deal IMO.

haha good one Ed002, it reminds me of the guy with a eastern european accent who entered a pharmacist and asked for a Viagra, the pharmacist said, "You must be croatian". Confused, the man said, "yes, how can you tell? " The pharmacist, who looked like a well travelled man, said, I've been told croatians can't get past a semi.

Well said Spasmith, I can understand having a different view on who we could potentially sign, but if Klopp and the club like what they see, they are probably more qualified than most to make a decision on whether they are right for the club, I remember someone calling the Ox an overweight Andros Townsend, at best, Im just glad that fact has changed now ;) I really like the guy, I'm sure he's great to have round the dressing room too.

Emre, are you saying Loris can't carry us? have a word mate :P we are pushing for a new keeper, but if Klopp can't get the man he wants, I'd rather not panic buy, Im not sure Alisson is the answer, can't someone convince Courtois how sunny Blackpool can be this time of year.

In no particular order

Agger. Love for the club
Riise. One of my first memories of lfc was him sliding around like a mad man
Lucas. Great guy, great player, Unlucky.
Gerrard. Nuff said
Suarez. Magic/ Numpty

Shoutout to Owen for making me fall in love with the club, even though I've since found out he's maybe not the best Idol, without him who knows who I would support.

Hey Ed001 (or anyone with an opinion on the matter) where do you see AOC being in Klopps plans? I think would be an upgrade on our current right full back/ wing back options, we obviously favour attack inclined full backs and clyne isn't that, TAA is but perhaps isn't ready to be the main man just yet, or does Klopp see him as a versatile squad player, in which case will he want to come just to fill in gaps, I think he's a good player and seems like a good charater.

liljack23

{Ed001's Note - I believe he sees him as a versatile squad player.}

Sounds like you need a new internet provider! I get decent enough net speed in Malaga, and there are more than enough english speaking people round these parts haha, all the best mate.

{Ed001's Note - I am not in Malaga mate. Did you enjoy the snow?}
