Away from the Fekir deal. Just wondering if there is any genuine interest in Nick Pope, haven't seen his name mentioned before?

1.) 10 Jun 2018 12:03:04
Id rather have Pope than Butland tbh, but most of all Id just stick with Karius, if we don't go for a proper upgrade anyway.

2.) 10 Jun 2018 13:22:14
I’d ratger neither. You can’t and shouldn’t buy a player on the back of one good season after a few mediocre ones. Screams of Charlie Adams. Pope plays in the most defensive team in the league. Its the Michael Keane thing all over again and look how well it’s worked out for him at Everton.

3.) 11 Jun 2018 14:48:52
Pope is with the England team in Russia, we can take a look then, it starts midweek,
he does tick a lot of boxes tho .

4.) 11 Jun 2018 21:14:02
With Frankly, on this one. Pope is decent BUT plays in a defensive system and he is not asked to do all the things Karius is asked and CAN do as in play out the back, play the high line, sweep up, be proactive with the ball. We have no clue if Pope can do that cos he has not done that at Burnley cos he is not required to do that. IMO, if you cannot get a GK like Allisson who will sort the position out for the long term, might as well stick with Karius. The Pope' and Butlands of this world, are nothing but bandaids personally, I am not interested in.

Reports linking Fekir to Bayern and Atheltico this morning. Hope its not true. Eds will this encourage Lyon to hold out for money and make the deal more complicated?

Thanks for your info and time. much appreciated.

{Ed002's Note - You all keep telling me it is "done deal". Lyon will do what they think is right for themselves.

I predict by mid to late afternoon today there will be something else as a feature of discussion taking over from the multiple "done deals". I expect the word "conspiracy" to be used by those who can spell it.}

1.) 31 May 2018 11:43:49
When I see Eds write things like that, I know I'm about to have a bad day.

2.) 31 May 2018 11:44:36
Interesting eds.

3.) 31 May 2018 11:50:50
The Fekir rumour is a smokescreen for our interest in Fellaini. Just leave it people.

4.) 31 May 2018 12:02:09
I guess we have been told by UEFA to play 1 champions league game behind closed doors. I guess it was coming.

5.) 31 May 2018 12:06:51
Zidane leaving real.

6.) 31 May 2018 12:10:30
Related to the UEFA charges we're facing over our indiscretions in Europe perhaps? I'm just guessing but I can't think of anything else unless we've done something really stupid in relation to transfer (again) .

7.) 31 May 2018 12:10:50
Totally UNcool. Would be really amazing if we get Fekir, Fabinho and Keita - fighters with multiple boxes ticked, players who others were after, not Konchesky, Voronin and Charlie Adam type of players.

Too bad it's all just rumours until it's on the official page. My guess (IF they do it) would be that we won't go for anybody else up front if we get Fekir and we would get Lallana, Can out of the first team. And that would be the best business by far I have seen Liverpool do in a very long time. Please, do.

8.) 31 May 2018 12:11:29
Am guessing something to do with uefa and the Man city bus incident. Just a guess of course.

9.) 31 May 2018 11:44:56
Is that anything to do with the Uefa findings due to be published against us today ed002?

{Ed002's Note - Yes.

10.) 31 May 2018 11:46:37
Hi Ed love the site. Does this have anything to do with possible games having to be played behind closed doors in Europe next season?

{Ed002's Note - It has to do with today's meeting over a number of sides on the naughty step.}

11.) 31 May 2018 11:46:50
Apologies ED002. Didn't mean to say anything bad just a fan who gets excited about these transfers rumours.

12.) 31 May 2018 11:48:31
Ed I don't know if I'm worried or excited 😂 is Salah leaving or is their a Sharkopod in the pipeline haha.

13.) 31 May 2018 11:49:22
Could you please elaborate just a bit for us mere mortals ed2.?

{Ed002's Note - The mere motals will be whining later.}

14.) 31 May 2018 12:18:35
Play behind closed doors to kill the Anfield factor when we play our first Champions League group game next season . against Real Madrid.

15.) 31 May 2018 12:23:23
Banned from europe again?

16.) 31 May 2018 12:31:52
I read this morning a behind closed doors game and fine for the bus incident and then further punishment for crowd trouble with Roma.

17.) 31 May 2018 13:48:44
certainly no conspiracy. You can't attack an opposition's bus. Bunch of morons ruin things for the proper fans again but action must be taken at least try stop future happenings like this.

18.) 31 May 2018 14:05:45
Did you just Predict that Zidane would leave Madrid?
You probably own PSG or something.

19.) 31 May 2018 14:39:13
The Ed's just p*ssed that we're in the the position to be on the champions league naughty step 😂😂.

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure if the answer will be tonight or tomorrow now. I have just spoken with someone from another side (who are also on the Naughty Step) and they were told they may hear the results today but tomorrow is more likely as they are hearing cases against eight clubs with multiple charges agains all but two. One relates to an appeal (Buffon) which is an easy fix the others they have been batching. The side concerned had 8 charges against them and provided a series of small statements and an overall apology - their prior record was raised, so they don't know where this will go.}

20.) 31 May 2018 20:41:48
Atleast somebody happy here!

29 May 2018 14:25:22
The Guardian reporting Liverpool are in advance talks to sign Fekir. Doubt this has any truth in it at the moment due to the Lyon president's and also the player comments. Guessing that this is just the newspaper trying to get some readers.

1.) 29 May 2018 14:51:18
Guardian is generally reliable.

2.) 29 May 2018 15:30:21
Agreed DRM. They have fewer rumours, and what they print seems to be always within the possible.

3.) 29 May 2018 15:35:13
Ed002 did explain our interest and he expects us to make an approach to Lyon. I doubt this has happened yet however.

4.) 29 May 2018 16:18:43
Yeah, he wrote that we will make a formal approach only the other day, I will believe him over the Guardian. Although I wish the rumour was true.

5.) 29 May 2018 16:33:44
Why do you doubt it? Fabinho signed without his own mum, dad and wife knowing so do we expect to be tipped off about everything before it happens? Yes, if you want to alert the world to what you are doing. I reliable paper who has close to zero history of fake/ Twitter/ sensational stories posts and we dismiss it.

The guys here all do a good job but things do go on behind the scenes and for good reason.

Positivity please.

6.) 29 May 2018 17:58:07
You just want to keep your name ;)

11 Jan 2018 09:24:25
Hi Eds. Just wondering if there is any interest in Timo Werner? I think he could be great with Firmino.

Thanks Eds.

{Ed001's Note - yes, interest.}

1.) 11 Jan 2018 10:14:39
Werner would cost a bucket load of money (as much as Keita imo) and where would he play? Makes no sense. Fantastic player but the likes of Solanke and Ings will be throwing strops if Werner joins.
The money should be spent on our midfield first and foremost as it is weak as s**t.

2.) 11 Jan 2018 13:37:05
He's going to City mate. He likes quiet stadiums.

3.) 11 Jan 2018 11:07:44
I’d presume Werner would create a rotation and mix things up from the bench solution which Ings, still coming back from repeated injury and Solanke being inexperienced doesn’t provide. As things stand the drop from Firminho if he needs to be rested is a bit bigger than you’d like.

08 Nov 2017 11:58:33
What do you guys think of bringing Suso back from Milan to replace Coutinho. The lad has been playing well, similar type of players and maybe he has a point to prove, as he never had a real opportunity to show what he could do.

{Ed002's Note - After interest from another Premier League side this summer he signed a new contract. Liverpool has no interest and Milan don't want to sell.}

1.) 08 Nov 2017 12:33:35
Was Tottenham the interested side, Ed002?

P. s Really appreciate all the hard work the Eds have been putting in recently.

{Ed002's Note - Yes, in the summer.}

2.) 08 Nov 2017 13:47:17
Ante Coric I think would be the best fit if we have to replace Coutinho with a like for like.

Personally I would get a top Striker.

Before all of this however must come moves for defensive players and a chance for Ward to prove himself in goal.

3.) 08 Nov 2017 14:13:20
There was a point in 2014/ 2015 I think where Coutinho got injured for a while, we lacked any sort of creative spark, and Suso was bang in form for the u23’s - side was crying out for a like for like replacement and he was it, but we didn’t make the move. big miss on our behalf.

It happens sometimes, no point in crying over spilt milk, like I presume Chelsea fans probably are now over Salah.

{Ed002's Note - There were two reasons that led to Salah leaving - I don't think the fans think about it.}

4.) 08 Nov 2017 14:32:06
Fair enough - have no idea why he left but the point is fans always tend to moan about the one that got away rather than supporting those they currently have waiting in the wings. I’d like to see Woodburn getting a chance.

Hi Eds,

Tried the search function but nothing came up..............

{Ed002's Note - Random player - try the European pages.}

11 Jan 2018 15:40:33
Just in regards to the information macca gave earlier, is it possible that 2 players could come in? with one of them being Keita if a deal can be reached or would we just wait until the summer.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what he has said - why not ask him? I have explained over and over what I know about Keita - maybe Macca can put me right but Liverpool has already significantly over paid for him.}

1.) 11 Jan 2018 16:44:56
How can you say significantly over paid for him? Look at salah, we have significantly under paid for him then, nobody thought he was as good as he's showing, let him kick a ball for us first please ed002! 😉.

{Ed002's Note - The amount of money paid for Nobby Keita is well over what anyone considers he is worth - and the level of grief that comes with him will certainly be making people at Liverpool wonder about him. He has on field issues and off field issues and often goes missing.}

2.) 11 Jan 2018 17:22:50
Within 1 year the amount we paid for him will appear small comparing to what other similar players would cost. Just read an article on Firmino which said we paid 21 million for him. I know Ed 02 says we actually paid much more for him than that with all the extras on top, but even so, it is an absolute snip in todays market, even if We actually paid closer to the 40 million mark he is still cheap.

The market has gone crazy. What would Salah be worth by the summer? The mind boggles. We paid a lot for young Nobby, but we have got a good deal for him I assure you.

{Ed002's Note - The article is wrong.}

3.) 11 Jan 2018 19:15:28
Saying that, if we got the deal of the century with Salah, Chelsea are running us close with how much they paid for Kante. A terrfific bit of business - exactly the type of player that we are missing IMO. Am not sure why more clubs weren’t interested - especially us!

{Ed025's Note - he was a steal nick..

4.) 11 Jan 2018 19:23:04
Absolutely agree with ED002 here.
We are already paying a premium for Keita so why pay more? Clutching at straws springs to mind.

5.) 11 Jan 2018 19:38:49
Keita is 22 years old. Last season he was the second best midfielder in Germany. Many top players used to get sent off early in their careers, some of the very best. Keane, Gerrard, Viera. So I don't worry at all about a player trying too hard.

I would pay £15m extra to bring him tomorrow we really need him and he needs us.

6.) 11 Jan 2018 20:38:04
I agree with Kate and ed002. I don’t see what the big deal is with him.

7.) 11 Jan 2018 21:24:37
Id rather be patient and put the £15 million somewhere we need it, like de vrij, akanji, or even thiago alcantara since ed002 has basically nailed on that he will be with us by the end of the window.

8.) 11 Jan 2018 22:44:12
I agree we should put it in my bank.

9.) 11 Jan 2018 22:58:05
When Keane went to United for just under 4 million, everyone said they overpaid. That turned out pretty well. If Keita brings success, then he'll be worth it and then some.
I'm not 100% convinced he's going to be world class yet, but he should not be judged until he's at least kicked a bloody ball in anger lol.

17 Dec 2017 14:11:10
Just read that David Luiz maybe available in January. What's people's thoughts if he was to join Liverpool?

1.) 17 Dec 2017 14:19:24
Don’t fancy the costs involved.

2.) 17 Dec 2017 15:05:47
0% chance, juve and real want him and compete consistently for everything also we don't pay £200k+ a week so even if he was the best CB in the world (which he isn't) it's a non starter.

3.) 17 Dec 2017 17:19:43
Don’t think he’d suit us or solve the problems.

{Ed0333's Note - I think he’d solve some of out problems on his day he’s better than any of our center backs and he could shield the back four with ease.

13 Dec 2017 14:27:32
Hi Eds, Just wanted to know if there is any problems between Salah and Mane? been reading a few reports stating that there is. Im guessing its total nonsense.

Many Thanks!

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any problem that Salah has with Mane or anyone else at the club right now.}

1.) 13 Dec 2017 17:07:10
The media are trying to cause problems once again, during the champions league press conference with mane, the press kept asking mane if the other players need to score more, hinting at him also saying it's a one man team, I think it has played in his mind since, Moscow game was a little greedy and same with Everton.

{Ed002's Note - The media has no interest in causing problems for Mane.}

2.) 13 Dec 2017 19:40:46
Heard Mane is not happy that Salah getting all the acolades.

10 Jul 2017 21:03:05
Hi eds, just a quick one on solanke. Is this still going to a tribunal or is that over with confirming the signing. Just bit confused. Much appreciated!

{Ed025's Note - its going to tribunal unless liverpool make a fair offer kss..

1.) 10 Jul 2017 22:12:07
Thanks ed.

{Ed025's Note - no probs mate..

Although Sanchez is a good player, I think Liverpool should stay away. Lot of problems. Always moaning and whining when things don't go his way. Plus his wages would be a joke.

Did anyone notice Fraiser Fosters error on the weekend. It happens to all goalkeepers. Just give karius a chance. Its his first season and he will only get better with time.

The lad did score 11 goals and assisted 5 from midfield last year. Also to take in to account that it was his first year in the premier league and was in a poor newcastle team. For the right price might not be a bad buy.

{Ed001's Note - stats mean nothing, he was one of the main reasons that team was so poor.}
