Greetings all,

I am seeing more of the big money stories regarding Liverpool crop up again .

Question for the Eds .

Do the press understand the financial constraints we have on us at the moment ?Is this a case of simple headline grabbing or is the club actually considering spending big money (that we don't have ) again .

I would have thought that given the current FFP position and large debt, Liverpool being in a dodgy financial position is a better story .

kobi

{Ed002's Note - I really don't want to get in to discussing money. I understand that the Daily Express announces one "superstar" signing for Liverpool per day. The only issue is are there enough pegs in the dressing room to allow Cavani, Ibrahimovich, Martinez, Reus, Benzema, Higuain, Draxler and Furlong to hang their clothes on.}

Greetings all,

I would like to say great job to the Eds for managing another silly season.

I would like to ask the Eds, if assuming we get a LB how far have we come since this time last year in terms of personell.

kobi

{Ed041's Note - so far you have bloated it further it seems.

You will get the answer for this question only next May. There is absolutly no way to know how signings will turn out in advance. Signings are always a bit of gamble.

2.) 25 Jul 2016 20:01:24
7 in
Out- Enrique, Toure, Skrtel, Rossiter, Sinclair, Texiera, Ibe
Canos and vigoreux.
6 or 7 youngsters released
3 out on loan.
Still bloated and I'm sure the club are working on moving 5 or 6 more first teasers on but as we know it's not always that simple.

Greetings all,

Just like to say embarrassed to read the lack of support to our team in defeat.
We are a mid table team, in transition with a number of players with questionable fitness after injury. City are just hitting form for the first time.

Some of the comments on Klopp and personal attacks on individuals frankly a disgrace.

People need to remember we have never bought world class players, we have made good players better. Remember the abuse we gave a young lucas?

We are not the best team, we don't have the best players but we are Liverpool!

Best fans in the world
. my arse!

{Ed001's Note - well said.}

Couldn't agree more Kobi. Reading some of the posts and comments on the live chat leaves me shaking my head. It's about time people realised that we have been in decline for years and we are where we deserve to be.

2.) 29 Feb 2016 08:00:17
Exactly kobi some fans are so negative it makes me sick. unlucky to the players staff thanks for your efforts, if your one of those horrible fans man your life must be miserable.

3.) 29 Feb 2016 08:07:08
Have not read the pages this weekend on purpose for reason not sure i want to read on tbh. Was going to say props to the team for showing guts and not caving in after the migs mistake. We could have even won it in extra time, so great effort and on we go.

4.) 29 Feb 2016 08:50:17
Well done Reds, not the desired result but lots of guts shown and we can look forward to better outcomes with a bit more luck. Overall proud of almost all for the effort and fight shown.

Beat Man Utd in EL and I'll be happy overall!

5.) 29 Feb 2016 09:10:32
I haven't read many of the posts following the final and it appears I should not waste my time doing so.

I thought the live chat was a great idea but found that there was too much negativity and abuse of players there for my liking, plus I struggled to keep up with it and focus on the footie.

A win would have been great for confidence but the team needs support from us now to see us through to the end of the season when we hopefully will strengthen key areas give the players a rest and the allow Klopp a good pre-season with the boys. Onwards and upwards!

6.) 29 Feb 2016 09:22:29
I don't agree that we have made good players better. I think our main problem in the last two years is that players that came to play for us lost it and their level dropped for some reason. Benteke, Balotelli, Lambert, Lovern, Lallana, Markovich and I can go on about it (Mings? Henderson of this season, Milner - could he have been that poor in City? Firmino) . Other players didn't progress much - Ibe, Can, Moreno, Clyne.

It may be our style of play, it may be the pressure, it may be other things but I think most of our players consistently under perform.

I just want to say that I hope Sakho gets a run. He may still be a bit raw, but he has huge potential to develop. He is young physically a beast and seems to respond in a positive way to being out of the team.

His passing is consistently among the best stats wise not just in the club but also when compared with any CB in the country. Gets more stick than anyone except the Loven. Who has been so poor, it's frankly quite sad.

I do think that we need a calming influence at the back, Sakho, Skittles and Lovgone are all ball winners. The all get overly involved in personal battles which often drags them and others out of position.

If you add Migs into the mix you add another element of uncertainty. I still think that Toure has a role. If your defensive leader is a tactically naive hot head then you will always struggle.

Is he not having a run at the minute. Can't remember the last game he missed off the top of my head.

2.) 18 Oct 2015 12:13:33
You can't remember the last time sakho missed a game ahah?

3.) 18 Oct 2015 13:53:25
Sahko missed the first three PL games because BR was trying to get shot of he along with Lucas. Just FYI, Ron.

4.) 18 Oct 2015 14:13:53
Not off the top of my head but I'd guess just before the Sion game?

Great info as always Macca.

I just want to say that if the club are to make a change then they need to think carefully. No matter who gets the job it will be a massive challenge. We are miles of being a consistently successful club.

I hope we go for Ancelotti, I think his sides have generally been built on a solid defence and we have been dodgy at the back since rafa left. (possibly a bit before as well)

Fans need to accept that short term a new manager will struggle to make order out of the mess but, whoever it is I just hope that we sign a manager who's value is in his ability and experience of a big club. Not just PowerPoint and teeth so bright they must have been made by Nasa.

Anyway here's to Studge sinking the bitters!

Greetings Eds & fellow reds

Just seen we are nailed on to sign.

Benteke
Higuain
Lacazette
Gomez

This was on one site! Just goes to show that it really is silly season.
Given the amount of rubbish being spouted every day just want to say great job to the Eds.

Not always right but never far off .Great knowledge .

Not always right? They're telling us where there is interest so I believe they are always right in what they say.

If they know of an offer they tell us and if they don't then they say they haven't heard of any confirmed offer, etc.

They don't make false claims trying to jump the gun and guess just to keep some people happy.

Whilst I agree they have potential to form a good partnership we are short in that area . Lovren, Klavan are both ball winners. Matip acts as a kind of baby sitter at times. Gomez needs opportunities but is not ready for a significant role as yet.

With his injury record I worry that we rely on him too much.

Just my opinion but I am concerned that with CB seemingly not being a priority and with Lucas going we may be even shorter in this position next season.

Whilst I agree with you N Red, the fact is that we will look for players with development potential as per FSG strategy . Whilst I suspect Klop will look for proven quality in some positions we will also need to look at potential.

Zaha has had a documented bad attitude throughout his career, his quality in my opinion was never in question.

I remember we were right in for him before he joined UTD. Although we dodged a bullet then, his attitude by all accounts is significantly better.

I would say that he would be a player that many 'top' sides may take a punt on as he does have the potential to be a huge player.

Not my first choice by a long shot but if Klopp feels there is something there he may be the man to bring him on.

Difficult to tell .

I would say that Tierney has not had the same level of challenge week in week out as Sessegnon.

Although both players are attracting interest as good young players with bags of potential. I would say that Tierney may not move this year, and if he shines in Champions League his value will rocket with United reportedly tracking him along with others.

For me Sessegnon looks a bit closer to starting and seems to be available and keen on a move. A bonus for us will be the fact that of all the top 6 he has an opportunity to nail down a shirt with us due to a lack of quality in that area.

Totally agree with Ed, Xavi was the best and worst transfer in the last 15 years ( Best In, Worst out )

I think Stewart will prove to be a very good transfer, especially for a free .

Klopp was actually an amazing transfer, especially when you consider how bad we are in general at conducting our transfer business.

When you look at the transfers over the last 15 years its not always great reading .
