Hi edds1 of my friends says that Klopp has fallen out with the owners. Have you heard anything.

kings

{Ed001's Note - nope.}

1.) 22 Sep 2016 19:52:24
lol. gullible is the word that comes to mind kings ;)

2.) 22 Sep 2016 20:35:12
If he had I'm sure he'd have given us at least a hint in the press with a typically humorous comment. Klopp is an outspoken person and isn't likely to stay silent on matters like this.

3.) 22 Sep 2016 21:52:06
Sounds like complete bull to me. Haters trying to stir the pot with FSG.

4.) 23 Sep 2016 00:02:27
OP, seriously you are either that gullible or this is a whine up post.

5.) 23 Sep 2016 08:25:07
I heard they're all going to have a straightener at Melwood after the Hull game to sort it all out. Jurgens not happy about his internet speed, they got **** **** for him, ' and the owners are getting fed up of hiring a pooper scooper to follow Jurgan and his dog. It was bound to go off eventually.

6.) 23 Sep 2016 16:24:02
I didn't think it was right, thought i'd check. Gullable. probably.

Hi Edds do you think Liverpool missed a trick with anyone that HAS moved this window. In that a player we SHOULD sign but has gone elsewhere. sos in advance if already asked.

kings

{Ed001's Note - not that I can think of.}

1.) 07 Aug 2018 15:38:16
Thanks for the reply. Who out of the signings do you see as having the biggest impact? As a window as a whole do you think its been tame?

{Ed001's Note - Alisson.

No, it has just been made into a shambles by the idiocy of Premier League clubs voting to shorten their own window because they are too stupid to see that they are making the issues they complain about worse by doing so.}

2.) 07 Aug 2018 15:42:37
I wouldn't call it missing a trick but I think Gelson Martins would have been excellent in our team, at least from what I have seen. Not sure on what he is like as a person off the pitch.

3.) 07 Aug 2018 16:10:33
What was the actual reason behind the shorter window ed?

{Ed002's Note - There was a proposal to end the transfer window before the start of the season and more than the required 70 percent of PL sides agreed.}

4.) 07 Aug 2018 16:20:43
I just think we missed a trick in general with not signing a quality player too rotate amongst the front 3, cos we are still light there if injuries, sturridge is injury prone and in my eyes unreliable but if he could stay fit is genuine quality, solanke is raw, origi seems too have all the attributes but shot off confidence, shaqiri I like but he is better used deeper . Taking into account these options we basically have same prob as last year, same could be said of defence couple of injuries an we exposed . The club need too take into account the amount of games we will b playing and there will be injuries, the business we have done is great but we still short off a flexible attacker and a central defender.

5.) 07 Aug 2018 16:04:13
Ed001, I think you and Ed002 have both talked up Andriy Lunin - the young keeper who chose to join Real Madrid.

Roma have done some good business. Ante Coric could be one who develops into a special player there.

Arsenal have signed a good one in Torreira but you would make a case for Fabinho being a better player.

Despite what Mr Mourinho thinks we cannot sign everyone :)

{Ed001's Note - he is extremely highly rated and we were very interested. Might prove to be a loss in the long term, but I am over the moon with Alisson.}

6.) 07 Aug 2018 16:27:46
Oh I think we're all swooning over Alisson Becker!

Forgot to mention Lenglet being a good one for Barcelona and Odriozola to Real as well. Good signings.

7.) 07 Aug 2018 16:34:32
We have klopp.

That's the biggest thing.

If we signed Lunin then we would of need Alison anyway for the at least the next few years.

We have a keeper who is superb now n9t in 4 or 5 years.

A keeper also has a huge life span. If Lunin comes good then real are sorted for the very long term and where else would Alison go go play. It's in our best interests for Lunin to become a worldy.

{Ed002's Note - What are you talking about?}

8.) 07 Aug 2018 17:08:25
Ed002 😅.

9.) 07 Aug 2018 17:48:09
Thanks Edds and everybody else interesting reading your opinions!

10.) 07 Aug 2018 17:26:05
We tried to sign Lunin before Alison.

Surely Lunin wasn't coming as number 1, and would of needed some time so we probably would of needed a number 1 now aswel.

Maybe that would of been Alison. Who wanted real Madrid.

The fact that Lunin has gone there to under study navas means that in a few years If Lunin becomes there number 1, then they won't be in the market for gk and who would want Alison and be able to afford him from us other than them that we would sell to? So just saying that Lunin could help us keep Alison for a very long time rather than just a few years.

11.) 07 Aug 2018 17:57:18
Translation anyone?

12.) 07 Aug 2018 18:33:14
Imo, the best signings in our league are

Alisson
Keita
Jorginio
Mahrez
Fred
Fabhino

Have City even signed anyone? Apart from mahrez. I thought pep might sell sterling. After that world Cup where raheem looked like someone who had won a competition, I guess it would be hard to find someone willing to pay 60/ 70 mil for someone who can't kick a football. Give me James milner ALL Day. He may be 32 but he's fitter than sterling. Cleverer, stronger and can strike the ball cleanly, as we saw in Dublin. What a goal! Sterling just scores tap ins by falling in the general direction of the ball!

I don't think we missed a trick with nabil fekir, oddly I think the alternative, shaqiri, is going to work out fine. Even better than fekir. There is a question mark over his attitude (which has been very good so far) but he has a bit of magic, like coutinio had and salah has got. They're all different but all have a touch of wizardry to their play. He knows how to get over the line, and is one of few who have won league titles and champions league titles too.

I think if he gets real fit, Klopp fit. (Look how much weight the Ox lost) And listens to Klopp, I think his technical ability will demand that he plays. I think he will feature in every match. If he starts, great. If he comes on for 30 minutes, that's great. I think he could turn out to be the best buy of them all. Controversial I know. Definitely the most decorated of them. Don't get me wrong, I think keita will be a revelation this year. Fernandinio will be eating his dust.

Alisson looks a class act already, we have to give him time to settle but he is awesome. I haven't felt like this about a keeper since Bruce.

Fabhino looks solid already. His play will be under estimated by the motd clip watchers (those who think Henderson is rubbish! ) but I really like him. I would not want to play against fab. Imagine trying to attack liverpool. You've got keita snapping at your heals and fabhino, big, in front of you. If you get past him then you have van diike to deal with, followed by the world's most expensive (and confident) goal keeper.

But I see wonder goals for shaqiri. And million dollar passes. Look at the three he has in front of him! He is going to create space for the 3 musketeers. I bet shaq gets over 20 assists this year. And 10 goals, well 5 to 10.

{Ed025's Note - i stopped reading when you preferred milner to stirling robbie, i like milner dont get me wrong but as an attacking threat james is a non entity, stirling is not the finished article by any means and poor in the finishing department...but he craps all over milner as a footballer mate..

13.) 07 Aug 2018 21:38:08
Can't agree with that. Sterling runs fast, then falls over. He spends half the game on his arsepart looking at the referee, hoping to curry favour from him.
Milner brings more to the table, not least in being able to cover several positions and stay on his feet when he gets the ball.

14.) 08 Aug 2018 00:05:00
Doesn't Milner hold some record in the champions league?

Sterling couldn't hit a barn door 😂😂 he's absolutely terrible. Literally just fast. He only ever taps the ball in the net. Kicks like a girl. No power in his feet. Can't cross. Trully trully awful.

Sos to add to your ever expanding list . How about Costacurta and Zevamir Boban.

kings

{Ed001's Note - added both thanks mate.}

1.) 31 Oct 2017 08:01:10
davor suker ed? don't know how good he was, but my dad speaks always highly of him.

{Ed001's Note - added he was excellent mate.}

2.) 31 Oct 2017 10:22:26
Armendn, he was not just very good. He was a legend. He was a CF with the softest first touch you will ever see and was so composed in front of goal that he took his chances next to no effort that it smacked of non-chalance.

3.) 31 Oct 2017 11:09:19
For me surely Marcus Babble should be on there a true legend of the game for me. Excellent attitudes d a excellent professional, we and football were robbed of him far too early.

I remember the glee I felt the day we signed him (and on a free if I remember rightly) . Such a brilliant defender and versatile.

4.) 31 Oct 2017 12:08:59
Jones, like you I watched Babbel at LFC, Bayern and with Germany where he formed a ruthless pairing with the brilliant Thomas Helmer (who did a decent man marking job on Alan Shearer at the Euros in 1996) and he was a brilliant CB who could also play RB. He was not the most flashy BUT he was very effective at what he did and had a great career regardless of his health condition.

02 Jun 2017 08:29:43
Hi im not sure who mentioned it. But what caused the change in Mings form near the end of season. Did we change the goalkeeper coach?

kings

1.) 02 Jun 2017 08:55:49
very happy with his development, Hopefully he keeps it up!

2.) 02 Jun 2017 08:57:44
No but Achterberg used different training techniques which have clearly paid off.

3.) 02 Jun 2017 09:28:13
Felt really confident with him for the last 2/ 3 months or so, he dominated the penalty box and made some crucial saves, long may it continue.

4.) 02 Jun 2017 10:55:05
I hope we see similar progress with Karius. I think once he irons out a few issues he can be a very good keeper. Well done to Migs for stepping up (finally)

Hi edds if you are about me and the old man were discussing paul ince. Was he a bad influence or did Houllier just didn't like him.

kings

{Ed001's Note - dreadful influence, arrogant prick of a man. He would be the one player who would not even acknowledge fans at Melwood. All the rest would sign autographs and chat, except him. He strutted around like he owned the place.}

1.) 21 Sep 2016 06:59:14
thanks edds we thought he was a fool dnt realise how much!

2.) 21 Sep 2016 07:22:49
Anyone who refers to themselves as "the guvnor" has to be a massive bell end.

3.) 21 Sep 2016 07:39:08
he didn't do his son any favours either, look at how his career is turning out.

{Ed001's Note - to be fair, his son is just not good enough, he did the right thing for him, in my opinion. He got him first team football.}

4.) 21 Sep 2016 08:20:49
Cheeky bugger! 87! My stage name is 'The Guv'nor'! . I sing up and down the country and sometimes abroad for a living. I didn't get my name from him mind. I got it not taking any nonsense from dodgy promoters lol. a bellend I am not! . made me giggle though cheers ha!

5.) 21 Sep 2016 11:12:22
It's all subjective RichieTyler, as to whether you are or not ;)

6.) 21 Sep 2016 12:23:48
ha, awkward richie!

to be fair, there's a big difference between a stage name and calling yourself the guvnor in football because you believe that's what you are!

7.) 21 Sep 2016 17:02:38
Maybe that stage name got to his head.

24 Jun 2015 13:51:02
HI been thinking about Illori's situation. Edds what do you think of the idea of Brenda using him as the right back beanz we've not bid for the Saints man again!!

kings

{Ed001's Note - why would we do that? Why not just play him as a centre back?}

1.) 24 Jun 2015 14:46:07
ed

That just makes no sense

{Ed001's Note - I know but sometimes I have these wild ideas about playing players in the position they are used to. Mad but it happens. I will try to ensure it doesn't sneak into my replies again though.}

2.) 24 Jun 2015 15:43:45
sos I should of said isn't that the type of thing we are used to seeing from the great man.Playing people out of position

3.) 24 Jun 2015 17:31:16
I'm just curious ed, I remember reading that Wisdom was played in midfield to improve his ability on the ball,is it common for young players to be played out of position purely in order to gain certain certain skills or to broaden their understanding of that position? e.g. a defender playing as a striker.

{Ed001's Note - quite often it happens yes. Kolo Toure was often used on the wings when he first broke into the Arsenal team, it was just to make sure he got on the ball and got a feel for the first team without pressure. Gerrard played just about everywhere on the pitch, and Sterling played numerous roles to improve on his understanding of the tactical side of the game. Sometimes it can help, other times it is just stopping them getting a better understanding of their natural role.}
