Are we interested in Dzeko? he fits the criteria
and it's reported that City are interested in Sterling, no chance of a swap?

{Ed002's Note - Dzeko may well be leaving with firm interest from Juventus - but interest from Valencia and just perhaps Inter remains tentative - Fenerbahce may provide a solution for Dzeko.}

1.) 24 May 2015 08:59:06
I'd rather we went for Mitrovic, he's more mobile and considerably younger. Dzeko is nearly 30.

26 Jan 2015 12:22:30
there is talk of us being interested in signing Bogdan from Bolton, is this true? I mean have we been watching him for a while or does it take just one good game nowadays?

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}

1.) 26 Jan 2015 13:55:23
Can't deny he's played great 100% of the time I've watched him!

2.) 26 Jan 2015 15:10:50
Surely there is no truth in this what so ever and it's nothing more than lazy journalism just because he had a decent game against us!

3.) 26 Jan 2015 15:52:03
I heard his contract is up soon. Would be a wise move.

4.) 26 Jan 2015 16:36:40
He's a good quality keeper, we haven't been watching him for a while because he's been injured but if he's available for free i would have him in a shot.

5.) 26 Jan 2015 17:50:37
As a cheap replacement for Jones, if we aren't going to try Ward ever, then fine. As anything else, pull the other one!

07 Jan 2015 10:57:07
Are any of our loan players up for sale? if so who is the most likely to be sold?

{Ed002's Note - I would not expect any of the loan players to be sold in January - certainly the club will look to be moving them on at the end of the season in order to raise funds. You can reasonable expect the club to listen to any offers for the likes of Aspas, Alberto, Ilori, etc.. There will be some dependency on what happens with the management. There may well be some loaned youngsters questioning whether or not they have a future at the club.}

1.) 07 Jan 2015 11:38:27
You say the club will be looking to move on Aspas, Alberto and Ilori etc. My question is would the new man in charge get a chance to look at these players first or is it a case of
a) the club want them gone and will be desperate for the money
b) the players want to move on to save their careers due to being Brendaned
c) all of the above.

Only reason i am asking is because i think Ilori and Alberto have potential to be good. Go as far as say i would rather Ilori right now rather than Lovren

{Ed002's Note - As I said, "There will be some dependency on what happens with the management."

Ilori and Alberto have had their careers disrupted by the move to Liverpool - they have to think about what is best for them.}

2.) 07 Jan 2015 15:43:15
Looking to move a manager on after signing a four year contract extension confuses me?

I guess a manager must live and die by their signings. Houllier, Benitez and Rogers all good managers but some of the players they have bought to this club have been their downfall.

3.) Surely we paid decent money for Illori and he was rated very highly, thought to be an LFC star in the future.How quickly things can change, especially the minds of managers.

{Ed002's Note - And Aspas and Alberto.}

4.) 07 Jan 2015 20:15:14
thank you Ed002 and Happy New Year to all you hard workers . .and slackers LOL

24 Dec 2014 21:17:54
is Salah of no interest to us anymore? has that ship sailed?

1.) 25 Dec 2014 09:52:38
That ship was sunk by the verbal ice berg that is Brendan Rodgers. Never let go Jack.

2.) 25 Dec 2014 12:41:48
Bigmouth struck again.

3.) 25 Dec 2014 13:09:12
ship sank when he choose money before LFC

{Ed002's Note - The Salah move to Liverpool did not happen because of (a) the derisory bid, and (b) what Rodgers said.

However, Inter, Besiktas and Fiorentina have shown an interest in Mohamed Salah but it is Spartak Moscow who yesterday put an offer on the table. Chelsea are not looking to sell but if an acceptable offer is made and if the player wants to leave, the club will not stand in his way.}

4.) 25 Dec 2014 20:48:58
A. that's what you get with a transfer committee derisory bids.
B. Rogers can't hold his breath a lesson was not learnt by him and LFC in keeping him from opening his mouth

5.) 26 Dec 2014 14:03:24
What did BR say again?

{Ed002's Note - It is of no consequence now. Move on.}

12 Oct 2014 13:50:40
Could anyone help me decide about Valdes, the latest reports are conflicting, either he has lost the plot and is not wanted or it would be a great deal? he is being hawked around according to reports on the internet and press, now the agents have got some interest in him they are starting with the demands, If i were about to pay him good wages and all that goes with it i would want to know i am not investing an a Turkey! i have a bad feeling about this, i don't think he is the answer, if we are going to replace Migs go and buy a top keeper and be done with it, bargain basements are well too risky, and a top goalie is essential if you want a successful team.

{Ed002's Note - See previous answer Jack.}

I hope and pray we buy Dzeko, he is better than Benzeke and not a mercenary either!, he is far more suited to our style of play, he can shoot right /left and he can head a ball, plus we could get rid of the waste of space known as Sterling the wonder boy

{Ed001's Note - seriously? Dzeko? Not a mercenary? And he is just not a good player either.}

1.) 03 Jun 2015 20:39:19
Both terrible. Sterling is better than both

2.) 03 Jun 2015 20:44:29
Lol he would love you to ghost wrote his autobiography.

3.) 03 Jun 2015 21:21:48
They are both not good enough.

4.) 03 Jun 2015 21:32:20
Leave Dzeko 1 on 1 with a defender and he makes a regressive pass 10/10.

03 Jun 2015 19:18:58
What is it with players like Benteke? "if i am not automatically in the first team then i'm not signing" and the latest one "if the club is not in the Champs League i'm not signing" well that rules LFC out then right? the arrogance and ego of players like him make me want to vomit, the tables have turned, the players run the game these days, LFC want to make him very rich and he spits in our eye! give him a wide berth i say, he is not the only striker out there, he was rubbish against Arsenal and if you can't sweat blood for the FA Cup final???

1.) 03 Jun 2015 19:31:50
I don't why you are getting your knickers in a twist! Did Liverpool make an offer for him? Maybe Liverpool didn't want him? Is that as bad?

2.) 03 Jun 2015 21:29:53
Why are you worried? Do you want him here? because if you don`t like I don`t then don`t pay attention to it.

3.) 03 Jun 2015 22:03:53
Perfectly legitimate from a player who consider to leave his team to go for a team in which he will be in the starting 11. Players want to play. I honeslty don't understand players like Dzeko who with his ability is willing to come from the bench in most games. What's the point of that? Benteke is playing for a Pl side who just got to the FA cup final. He is their first striker and always play when fit. Doubtful if he will win mroe trophies with us why would he move if he will spend most of the time on the bench? Or play for Chelseas but only in games when Costa is not fit? And of course he can choose a side who is in the CL - if no CL football then why leave AV? He is quite happy there.

4.) 03 Jun 2015 22:21:54
Has anyone ever watches dzeko there's a lot of comments out there suggesting he's this great player!

27 May 2015 23:31:09
Balotelli wants to stay at LFC could it be he won't get the same money anywhere else and stays here for the amount written in his contract?

{Ed030's Note - As well as no team wanting to pay the amounts of money Liverpool are asking. }

1.) 28 May 2015 08:40:00
Balotelli himself is not that concerned with money if what people in Milan say is true. It's his agent that pages for higher wages. Mario gives a large portion of his wages away.

2.) 28 May 2015 14:17:54
Nevada. I like Balotelli and hope if he stays he can prove us fans wrong and adapt to the system.

27 May 2015 22:29:10
Has Ancelotti ever managed a team that was not full of world class players?

1.) 27 May 2015 22:38:15
PSG 2011

2.) 27 May 2015 22:39:26
AC Milan was hardly "full of world class players" he had a few stars yes and some very, very good players, but I'd hardly say they were all world class.

3.) 27 May 2015 22:44:35
Pretty sure neither Reggiana nor Parma were full of world class players.

4.) 27 May 2015 22:53:34
hsf, he had kaka in his prime the best in the world at the time.

5.) 27 May 2015 23:06:39
Parma have always been deceptively full of talent in their youth Team.

6.) 28 May 2015 00:03:29
i consider his AC Milan side to be one of the best club sides I have ever seen. I mean look back at that starting eleven that night in Istanbul.

GK Dida
RB Cafu
CB Jaap Stam
CB Alessandro Nesta
LB Paolo Maldini (c)
DM Andrea Pirlo
RM Gennaro Gattuso
LM Clarence Seedorf
AM Kaká
CF Andriy Shevchenko
CF Hernán Crespo

That to me is what made that night even more special. The fact that an Lfc team including djimi traore, Harry kewell and Milan baros beat them is still amazing.

7.) 28 May 2015 06:04:52
You make a great point wassa. I'd say that the only "weak" points of that team were Seedorf (who's powers had significantly waned by the time we played them) and Gattuso (who, though a battler, has always struck me as a somewhat overrated player). No doubt about it though we punched so far above our weight it was insane. A special night, I'm happy I was actually able to see it in the flesh.

8.) 28 May 2015 08:16:31
Haych I hope you were taking the mick when saying 2011!!!! That wa sa team more than capable of winning its own dometics league and going on a decent cup run in europe.

The AC Milan squad has always been good for as long as I remember(Till 3 years ago).Pretty sure, he had Abiatti,maldini,schevchenko,Pirlo,Gattusso,etc when he took over. Once again a strong team,with a very good nucleus

29 Apr 2015 16:48:58
I would like to say Lovren is starting to show why we bought him the last few games and after a lot of critics had a go at him and called him a failure and waste of money.

1.) 29 Apr 2015 17:02:48
Has to carry on performing, but yes I agree, he's been doing well recently.

2.) 29 Apr 2015 17:06:04
And the criticism was justified because he was embarrassing in the beginning and poor in the middle. He has improved and that's commendable, but he needs to now show the consistency though that's easier said than done under the ineptly managed defense by Rodgers.

3.) 29 Apr 2015 18:14:55
Like most things he needs time

4.) 29 Apr 2015 19:03:39
Playing with Skrtel would make Kompany, Boateng, Fonte or Alderweireld look poor and the fact that BR thinks he is our best defender shows how little he knows about fixing a defence

5.) 29 Apr 2015 20:29:57
I am still not convinced

I agree, if Casillas was that good he wouldn't be for sale to anyone daft enough to buy him, i really hope we don't sign him, Bergovic, Cech yes, and promote one of our younger goalkeepers like Ward position sorted

Will we ever play anyone else from our over abundance of forwards than look at me Mario and the big slow one!

Click To View This Thread

We may be over run with forwards but they couldn't score in a brothel with a £50 note pinned to their shirt! maybe the question should be any chance of getting rid of the poor forwards we have and replacing them with forwards who know where the back of the net is?

sorry to say i agree with Curled 1, what i cannot understand is this. every Red's fan and his dog have known for a very long time what players and positions needed sorting out, yet nobody at the club has addressed the obvious! why? good question, this buying young players cheap then hoping to sell them at a profit a couple of seasons later has not worked, we have needed a top striker since Suarez left, goalkeeper position was embarrassing last season and Rodgers, well it's all been said, is it any wonder top players don't want to come to play at Anfield.

maybe we should throw £50/60 million at world class players with huge wages and that will make the difference eh?

I have said it before and will say it again the worst Liverpool team i have ever seen, the club has been mismanaged for years, i thought we had a chance with Kenny but he was deemed not good enough, if we don't buy wisely this time we will suffer so badly.

We need goals from ALL over the pitch not just a striker.
