Hi Eds,

So for months now we've gotten little snippets here and there regarding RM making a move for Salah. Most of it is just garbage paper talk, but there have been things like Ed002 (I think? ) saying that Salah himself had his agent talk to them.

My question is: now that Ramos and Real have effectively unified Egypt in hatred, do you see that possibility as being essentially dead? Or do you think it'd all be forgotten as soon as Salah signed for them?

Thanks!

I have asked that same question since Saturday night. It will be interesting to see, right? Or, I guess we're just plain naive and blinded to the business called football.

I don't see salah going to Madrid. A team where gareth Bale (lw) can't get a game and at rw they have Ronaldo.

Salah needs to prove he can maintain his brilliant form this season. Moving to Madrid could kill his career, similar to how going to Chelsea too soon didn't work out. I also think he is a man of integrity and will honour his contract. Of course there is paper talk after such a strong season but I think Eden hazard is more likely to go to rm than salah.

Salah would be fine at Real, what we need to do is make it so that it's not in his interests to move, that means winning titles. If we still haven't won anything in two years time (or maybe even next year) then Salah will be thinking about other options.

I think the Final was a game that he very badly wanted to win, but didn't, and after some time the disappointment will wear off (even though we never completely forget) . Based on the video interviews I've seen, Salah is a very focused, determined type of guy with a definite plan in his mind. And the plan is always to go up to the next step until he reaches the top. It's been like that throughout his career. So if he sees Real Madrid as the top, he will end up there one way or another. Sure he has a contract to honor and he can't move unless LFC deliberately sell, that's a given. But we've already seen with many players that if a player is no longer interested and the financial reward is worthwhile, then selling is not such a difficult choice to make.

Hi Eds,

This Kovacic thing is a weird one, huh? Even before the latest rash of rumors we've had lots of foreign sources talking about the deal as though it's almost complete, while the English press is STILL throwing their hands up as though not even a scrap of it is true. I'm not really inclined to believe either side, though with you yourselves saying that we're at least in negotiations, there must be SOME smoke to this fire.

As far as you know, has there been any real progress made in the last few days? Thanks!

{Ed001's Note - we have already said a deal has been agreed with Inter.}

Thanks for the post, Ed. Sorry to bother you, but one question: when you say "another option may be Liverpool, but not first choice, " do you mean that Liverpool isn't Amorim's first choice or he isn't ours? I'd hate to see any promising manager go to United, let alone one I'd like to have here!

Also, who in their right mind would want to manage Chelsea in their current shape?

{Ed002's Note - Alonso is first choice for Liverpool. There is plenty of interest in Amorim.}

The S*n's entire "evidence" for this seems to be A. that we're going to tribunal (which just means Chelsea are pissed and/ or we can't agree a fee with them) and B. there was a report saying we were going to sign him back in February. There isn't even a BS "sources at Chelsea accuse Liverpool of tapping up Solanke" quote.

Ed001 - I know you won't tell us what exactly is happening and I understand why. But could you at least tell us: is it Ayre who's responsible? I am often left to wonder, when things like this have come out over the last few years, whether Ayre is the cause or a symptom.

{Ed001's Note - it is the club as a whole, Ayre is a symptom.}
