I read that Utd may be interested in Mount. might be paper talk but have we any interest. young English and a good player. with Klipperty he could be even better.

djandyh

{Ed002's Note - Whilst another side asked about Mount and were told he is not for sale, neither Manchester United or Liverpool have are any approach to Chelsea.}

1.) 31 May 2022 19:18:39
Can’t see Chelsea selling or him wanting to leave, he’s a Chelsea supporter playing for the team he loves with a new owner. Unless United (or someone else) offers absolutely stupid money, he’s staying put.

KONOPLYANKA: David Maddock of the Mirror says.

"Liverpool believe a deal can still be done for the winger, but rate their chances as no better than 50-50 at this moment in time, so perhaps he's not collecting the boarding card just yet.

"And as we suggested earlier, it seems we may still be here at 11pm, waiting to see if they finally get the deal over the line."

As much as I would love to see Mbappe in a red shirt if the word out of Spain that Madrid will be signing him on a free in the Summer with an £800,000 a week pay packet is true I don't love him that much . world has gone mad.

1.) 31 Jan 2022 17:35:54
Ed002 has been saying this for 2 years mate.

2.) 31 Jan 2022 17:56:24
We were never in for him anyway 😅.

3.) 31 Jan 2022 18:05:38
I can see a surgeon or doc that saves lives but not a
Footballer I’ll throw the towel in and be done watching the game.

4.) 31 Jan 2022 18:11:46
1,000,000 euros a week

gotta love the "beautiful" game.

5.) 31 Jan 2022 18:12:13
He really isn't THAT significantly better to be worth that no way.

6.) 31 Jan 2022 18:15:43
I know £200m+ is a drop in the ocean for the PSG owners but I can’t think of any other club in the world who would of made such a dumb idea to refuse Madrids offer last summer. I can only think that they had some deluded idea that they could turn the head of a player who said who wouldn’t sign a new contract and wanted to leave. any how who needs Mbappe when we have the forward line we have YMWA.

7.) 31 Jan 2022 18:18:46
Will be interesting to see if he can do it in Spain. I've yet to see him turn up when it counts in the CL for PSG.

Spanish teams are used to Messi and Ronaldo banging in 50 goals plus a season and for that salary i'd expect that's the bare minimum expectation.

I think it was a case of getting the c##ks out to see who had the biggest between the 2 clubs.

9.) 31 Jan 2022 19:52:22
Jk23 he will defs be able to do it in Spain. More interesting is where he will play and they have Vinicius on the left. Will probs replace benzema as CF which will mean no haaland signing. Will no doubt be a great signing and be banging in the goals though.

10.) 31 Jan 2022 20:03:26
JK23 I agree it will be interesting, I don't see him hitting Messi or Ronaldo heights, he is undoubtedly a very good player, but 800K per week good? I don't think anyone is worth that but its the world we live in, where does it end? What does Haaland get paid (Who i think is more effective than Mbappe) get?

{Ed001's Note - Messi was on 1m before he left Barca.}

11.) 31 Jan 2022 20:07:32
Our future is players like Elliot who play for the badge.

12.) 31 Jan 2022 20:12:53
Ed 001, I didn't know that, and intuitively I think as good as he was its outrageous cash, but If your employer will pay it, then who am I to voice disapproval.
Different times and adjusting for inflation, but how much would Liverpool legends such as Dalglish, Rush, Hansen, Barnes etc be getting paid these days?

13.) 31 Jan 2022 20:29:56
I had a tooth our for a sheriff's badge when I was a kid. it hurt : (.

14.) 31 Jan 2022 22:13:15
I was thinking about Trevor Francis earlier and whether anyone had spoken to him about player’s weekly wages being equivalent to his record breaking transfer fee.
I never thought it would happen in his lifetime. Now I am not so sure.

Evening eds

Just a question regarding transfers. with contracts for some players worldwide ending on the 30th of June making them available on a free and the transfers window I'm assuming opening as usual if we were to buy a player early in the transfer window will he be able to play for us this season? Giving us a chance to bed the player in ready for next season or has the transfer window been delayed to stop this?

djandyh

{Ed002's Note - No. Liverpool may only use players registered for the second half of the season.}

02 Jun 2018 15:19:29
Would anyone want Reina in?
He's a free and has been playing at a decent level since he left us. I appreciate he is past his best but as a no. 2 he is better than what we have and if the talk is Butland he could pass in some valuable experience and I would love to see him back in a red shirt YNWA.

1.) 02 Jun 2018 15:36:26
No thanks.

2.) 02 Jun 2018 15:38:17
Just heard a rumour we are after Courtois. I hadn’t realised he was still so young as it feels like he has been around forever. My understanding was he wanted to go back to Spain?

Be a better signing than Butland but I would be surprised to see this one happening.

3.) 02 Jun 2018 15:38:20
Yes, I will take him instead of blowing it out on Butland. Reina was terrific for Napoli. He knows our system and would fit in brilliant. He is a leader, I would love this to happen. Would save huge money.

4.) 02 Jun 2018 16:01:18
#WonderdogSparky would LOVE it 😎.

5.) 02 Jun 2018 16:10:13
Reinas gone to Milan.

6.) 02 Jun 2018 17:47:26
How does Reina know out system if he's never played under Klopp?

7.) 02 Jun 2018 18:06:30
Flash

Napoli plays very similar to us!

I heard at the weekend a theory that should Neymar go to PSG and we lose Phil that as the dominos start to fall we will look at Lanzini from West Ham . does this sound like a realistic option.? Don't know much about him as a replacement.

djandyh

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Liverpool making any approach for Lanzini.}

1.) 02 Aug 2017 18:22:02
Good lord, transfer dominoes now.
Whatever next?

2.) 02 Aug 2017 18:34:44
How about Transfer Risk - that about sums it all
up!

3.) 02 Aug 2017 18:40:39
Transfer top Trumps 👍.

30 Jun 2017 16:49:14
With our defensive frailties hopefully being addressed with a cb and again hopefully a lb coming in I can't help feeling that the issue of a commanding gk has been put on the back burner.
I know Klopp has been fairly supportive of our goalkeepers but still feel this is still an area of concern
I like a keeper to be good with crosses and barking instructions to the defense and we don't have that.

There are some good keepers particularly in Spain (Jan Oblak at Atletico (23yrs old), Ruffier at St Etienne (older at 30yrs old) )

Thoughts?

djandyh

1.) 30 Jun 2017 17:15:06
Don't think we need one. Migs, Karius and Ward should have enough in the to keep each other on their toes.

2.) 30 Jun 2017 17:18:21
Oblak isn't going to happen. Madrid won't sell a top keeper while they can't buy and the price would be astronomical, Rufier isn't better than either of our current keepers. Plus Mignolet appears to have turned a corner and pulled out some really good performances last season, improved his overall game as well as being consistent. So I don't see the point?

3.) 30 Jun 2017 18:36:48
I'll throw my two cents in with My Two Cents.

4.) 30 Jun 2017 20:39:03
Oblak ain't coming and even if he came, we don't have the defence that he has at AM, which is one of the stingiest in Europe.

Complicated deal to get over the line due to the loan back. both parties wanted it. we wanted the player . Fulham don’t want him to go abroad for nowt in the summer . unfortunate but there’s a will so it will maybe be back on in the summer . he’s a talent and wanted the move so fingers crossed.
