Here is today's poll for u eds. Should we sell balotelli in January

Borini has to go then btw so heads up to his agent- do u no if he is trying to get a deal done behind the scenes now?

{Ed002's Note - Rodgers has screwed Borinin as he has with so many other players - I would not be at all surprised by him leaving in January. I cannot see Balotelli leaving in January.}

1.) Dont see why he couldn't try borini up front with balotelli. It can't be any worse.

2.) As frustrating as Balotelli has been he would be better with a striker alongside him. Borini might not be everyone's cup of tea but he is what we have available right now. It frustrates me to see how stubborn BR can be at times, alienating players benefits no one.

3.) Hi Eds'02 I hope you don't mean screwed in the literal colloquial sense as that would be a tad disturbing. Can you elaborate on 'screwed'?

{Ed002's Note - Give me a break.}

4.) I think he told him he could leave in The summer-borini I mean ! He certainly told the media that.

What about getting Defoe in 4 the season ?!

5.) Defoe? Give over.

6.) U may laugh but Defoe would get goals n cost nowt apart from wages.

Ok let's just get berahino then :-)

7.) Ha ha ha

What's going on with diarra? QPR were due to sign on Arry day but it fell through? Wud we look at him?

17 Sep 2014 22:57:19
Tello looking good for Porto, would we still be interested? My view is that's an area we are over subscribed in but he is quality

{Ed002's Note - No - life has moved on and Liverpool have put their money elsewhere.}

06 Jul 2014 08:03:25
This World Cup has proved what great player mascherano and medel are, any chance we are sniffing as pat of the Suarez deal 4 masch or after medel. Cardiff have said thy have had enquiries

01 Apr 2014 19:56:08
Goretzka is being tipped for greatness plays as a CM has anyone seen much of him? Rumours linking him to us aswell as bakkali who plays forward. 2 great potential stars we should pursue this summer

{Ed002's Note - PSVs Zakaria Bakkali has attracted attention from Chelsea, Arsenal, Norwich and Augsburg. I don't know of any Liverpool interest but he is a light year away from first team football in the EPL and any move this summer would potentially be a dent in his career.}

Eds what happens with the Eriksen situation. Did we ever make an effort or bid to sign him. For ages he was allegedly linked to us and the price was much higher then at the last minute with little media coverage he turned up for about 7 mill at rubbish hart lane?

He is a great player and I think with him n hendo our midfield would be great n can sat just behind. Eriksen is very much a gerrard of old for me.

{Ed001's Note - we never bid for him in the end. When we were ready to make a move he said he wasn't ready to move.}

1.) Cheers for that. I wonder if he is happy at spuds and if we would ever make a move in the future BTW I love the way the posts get changed even when we try to sneak a swear word thru! Rubbish hart lane it is then!

2.) 19 Oct 2014 08:00:25
my favourite is the changing of g.o.d. for Guaranga

24 Sep 2014 05:39:11
So is suso off to Milan? Lots of people saying so and Ed002 saying he can talk to clubs in jan? Does he want to go? Does he have a chance of getting games for us and at the expense of who? Very difficult for the lad and for BR to find a place for him at the expense of other players (the commitee have chosen to pay big money 4)

Interesting situation

1.) Suso wants to go because BR has already made his mind up. Today, I know what the meaning of the word "Brendaned" is. See below:

1. Having told the player a that he is no longer required, the player doesn't leave and BR responds by benching him, picking others (who are not ready or who needs a rest) ahead of him. BR however, panics, forgets all this and calls up the player when his team is losing. Example: Suso and Borini.

2. Indifferent to having a player, but when he doesn't leave, gives the captaincy to 2 players (Toure and Lambert) in the same game, who joined way way after the concerned player joined. BR's way of showing that he doesn't want you.

Example: Lucas against Middlesbrough.

2.) 24 Sep 2014 06:43:24

Spot on.

3.) 24 Sep 2014 09:48:24
suso won it for us really. he could have got a second.

we looked much better with him on the pitch

its a shame brendan can't see what we can all see. better than most of the 20 mil players we bought in the last few years, and will get better

4.) AG, Agree mate, even though it was a great honour for Lambert to be made captain I think Lucas should have got it, did you notice Lucas when Lambert passed the armband to Toure, not happy, don't know if Lambert was somehow told to give it to Toure or if Toure just took it on himself to take it,

5.) It's the league cup

Hi all, Now the chaos has died down and most of the plastics have left for a while I wanted to ask how people found getting tickets recently? I and everyone I know who isn't a season ticket holder and only has light membership got nowt at the sale date yet Over the last few seasons I've managed to buy at both sale points during the previous 3 season. Really disappointed with the way the sales are handled and even if u do go as regularly as you can without being a season ticket holder this counts for nothing and you start from scratch every season.

I'm sadden not to be able to see my team this half (and I predict probably the rest) of the season. Resigned to be an armchair fan

1.) Here here man, hopefully this Anfield expansion will bring us non-season ticket holders a little more joy in the future.

2.) 12 Sep 2014 08:44:41
Plastics? As in uni students that can't afford to travel to Liverpool and buy a ticket? Or am I plastic because I don't live in Liverpool? Hmm

3.) My mates had the same problem Dan.
It would be interesting to know if anyone on here was sucessful?

4.) Fully agree. I'm over from Australia with my wife in Oct/Nov and it was a lifelong dream to see Liverpool play at Anfield but the tickets are rarer than an England World Cup win. Might have to make do with a stadium tour and Match of the Day.

5.) Blocked there's never really been a better time in recent years to come to the UK, your dollars go so much further.You can ge tthe tickets from those ticket companies at £90. I play AFL and a great deal of the aussies that played for us would happily pay that, given how far their money went due to the exchange rate

6.) I noticed this year that the tickets this year sold out fairly quickly in the first members sale. Most properly due to the fact that after last years good form demand for tickets went up and the supply stayed the same.

I've managed to get a fair few tickets and even bought a ludogrets ticket yesterday on members sale so they aren't impossible to get.

As the tickets on your members card follow on the next year u can try and build up your games each season to get priority, also usually there are tickets left on members sale a few weeks before the game.

It is frustrating but u can see why the club do it, so they can try and get people in who regularly attend and can create an atmosphere.

Apologies for the rant but I know how frustrating it can be missing out on tickets. Although I'll be in the kop sat for the villa game :P

7.) What is a plastic fan? never fully understood what it is, would someone please explain, if someone called me a plastic fan I would poke him in the eye but I wouldn't know what for LOL

8.) 12 Sep 2014 14:21:06

Thats the question of the year. Lols.

9.) 12 Sep 2014 15:14:45
Put it this way - the plastic fans are the ones that you never even knew cared about football, never mind Liverpool, until about the 85th minute of the home game vs City last season. At which point they were the most dedicated Liverpool fans in the world. Until the point where Gerrard slipped about a week later, at which point they went back to claiming no allegience to any football team.

If you come from outside of Liverpool, if you don't get to many games or even any games, if you're overly critical to the point of embarrassment. you might be many things. But as long as you care full time, plastic you are not

10.) 12 Sep 2014 16:00:28

The goal was in the 75th minute and around

11.) 12 Sep 2014 16:11:19
I'm aware Reet. They didn't follow the huge game closely enough to notice as it happened though. Frankly, saying they started to notice within 10 minutes is generous

26 Aug 2014 08:03:42
Eds n reds as everyone I am disappointed after last nights game but there has been enough posts on here analysing and commenting on the result and how we played so I'm not going to add further instead I wanted to raise a concern about our RB position following Johnson going off injured. Manquillo seems to be our only RB whilst flanno and GJ are injured. Is there anyone else who can play there?

If like most of the fans we get our wish n Johnson is sold (because he is awful) I'm not sure we have adequate cover in manquillo and Flanno as they are not the most experienced to be up against the worlds best in the CL

We let Kelly go for peanuts So I'm not sure BR will sell GJ this year and to be honest not sure it would be wise to despite my frustrations at having him still at anfield

1.) Show me a team that have more than 2 right backs? Most teams have a first team RB and a back-up RB. We actually have 3 RBs yet you are worried we have no back-up for the back-up!

23 Aug 2014 17:19:03
Anyone know the score in the U21 game v Sunderland? Did Yersil player, eds is he staying or going out on loan. I was really excited for this lad, hope he gets a chance in the 1st team sometime soon

Tiexeira scored again today 2 in 2 :-)

{Ed002's Note - I would expect Yesil will stay but would think his long term future is elsewhere if Rodgers keeps adding forwards.}

1.) The U21 vs Sunderland was last week, we won 1 - 0 Ryan McLaughlin scored. We played Man U U 21's yesterday at Anfield 1 - 1.

Some good performances from Ojo, Mclaughlin.

2.) The game finished 1-0 to us & McLaughlin scored & yesil played 20mins & if I'm very kind got the assist. Since then we've drawn again Manchester United again he came on as a sub for maybe 10mins but made no impact.

3.) Thanks guys. Hope he does make an impact. tiexiera though :-)

This used to be called MOTD fever ! Whenever a player starts getting a bit of tv coverage and the press bandwagon starts rolling everyone gets lined and everyone starts asking if we are interested.

He is quality tho and I think he would fit nicely with our quick attacking play. Add him to the list!

Be nice to think the club Would start their striker replacement list as early as people do on here ! They will probably leave it until 30th of January tho!

Click To View This Thread

I was going to ask if he was any good. Earlier posters think not :-( I would agree no more average players. Buy 1 very good striker or Eriksen from spurs

Always rated him. Think we should always go for prem proven players, Everton have built a Side on it and aren't too shabby. No need to spend 20 mill on a bit part player. 6 mill on Diame on the basis he is squad player n if he does well he gets more games . Simples

Apologies Ed002 I meant in relation to this question. Reading back you do seem to comment on the managers position regular as well but it is interesting that both you and ed001 are putting forward (all be it as responses to questions) potential replacements for BR. Do u both honestly feel he should be replaced ?

{Ed001's Note - I am of the opinion that he is running out of time.}

Click To View This Thread

So ed001 thinks BR should go judging by recent posts. What about the other eds? We only hear from 001 and occasionally 002, let's have the views. Personally I'm disappointed by ed001's views and feel this site is very negative at the moment

{Ed002's Note - Ed001 was answering a question about who might be manager if Rodgers were to leave. He doesn't write the questions. And I rather think people hear from me rather more often than "occasionally". The other Editors will likely have no opinion on the subject.}

Mario plays like Andy Carrol, he waits on the edge of the area for the ball with back to goal, he doesn't chase down defenders, he is slow to track back and he is selfish taking on players n losing the ball. In addition his shooting accuracy is awful (so far) and his availability and positioning to link up with other players and find space is poor. None of that is down to fitness as suggested by earlier poster that is his style of play and has been at all clubs. I think it's not going to work out people

Click To View This Thread

End of the day Mario has moved every other year and been managed by some of the best managers in football and they couldn't get the best out of him. BR or the board took a gamble on Mario. it hasn't paid off. Time to Sell him and move on

Cheers for that. I wonder if he is happy at spuds and if we would ever make a move in the future BTW I love the way the posts get changed even when we try to sneak a swear word thru! Rubbish hart lane it is then!
