I think Origi needs to play to his strengths more. I understand its harder when they sit deep but he plays best off the shoulder of the last defender. How many times today did he try and beat a defender and lose possession. It was driving me crazy before the sub.

1.) 02 May 2017 04:29:59
he is simply out of form atm, sturridge showed more goal threat when he came on.

2.) 02 May 2017 07:13:55
He should be sub at the moment. He plays better as a super sub and Firmino plays better through the middle.

3.) 02 May 2017 08:19:28
Had Sturridge not got injured Firmino and Origi would be warming the bench by now.

4.) 02 May 2017 09:23:21
Warming it for Sturridge so he doesn't get cold?

Sorry UEFA but Firmino would not be on the bench.

5.) 02 May 2017 10:55:12
Origi is tall, fast, strong, skilful and works hard. All the attributes that should make him a world beater.

The fact that he is not. shows that something else is missing. I think the missing factors are a genuine football brain and desire. His decision making and final ball is often disappointing and he doesn't show the desire of a Costa or a Suarez to make it difficult for defenders.

I can't remember the game, but a long ball was putting two defenders under pressure as they back-pedalled to deal with it. Costa or Suarez would have forced their body between those defenders and won the ball or forced a mistake. Origi politely slowed down and let them deal with it. That's the difference, and he should think about that next time he is on the bench and wondering why he is not playing.

{Ed001's Note - his age and lack of experience is more of an issue than the lack of a genuine football brain. He is still learning the game, players never play his role well when young.}

6.) 02 May 2017 13:07:22
I take your point Ed1, as he has time to learn. He needs to be taught to get himself into positions between the sticks in the 6 yard box, where he will score more goals, which will increase his confidence. I don't think he has that natural instinct of someone like Aldo.

7.) 02 May 2017 16:12:09
Kloppo, he is a very intelligent player and DOES have goals in him. He's still young and still learning so just let him be and see what happens. Not everyone is the great Ronaldo of the 90's who was terrorising teams at 18/19yrs old. That player will never be seen again. Allow him to develop cos Klopp ain't getting rid no matter how much people cry about it.

Harry, Studge can't play 2 games in a row without breaking a nail and can't do all the work that Firmino does so how will he have benched them exactly? Didn't think so.

Ed02, I remember reading in one of your pices on improving Liverpool, you saying something about needing to end the kit deal with New Balance. I was just wondering why this is? From the outside all seems fine. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool could do better with one of the bigger players, Nike or Adidas.}

1.) 06 Apr 2017 11:10:30
Adidas would be good. Always wondered why did we go for New Balance.

2.) 06 Apr 2017 12:50:28
Liverpool and Adidas is what I remember being a young whipper snapper. I'd like us to go back to Adidas strips.

3.) 06 Apr 2017 14:36:45
one of our best shirts was an Adidas .

4.) 06 Apr 2017 16:07:27
Have we ever been Nike? Wouldn't mind seeing what that would be like even though I'd prefer adidas. New balance is unique though, about the only positive I could say about that.

{Ed002's Note - In what way is New Balance unique. They are simply a small player in the market.}

5.) 07 Apr 2017 12:33:40
Exactly how would it make a difference? I can't find the "improving Liverpool" post that Zaappp mentions.

I'm guessing having Nike/ Adidas would boost shirt sales and help with international branding, right? Would it also have any impact on attracting players associated it those brands? Sorry for my lack of knowledge. It's really not an area I know much about.

{Ed002's Note - Much higher income from the shirt deal from a higher profile sponsor who can help the club in other ways.}

6.) 09 Apr 2017 06:01:19
Didn't Adidas choose not to renew with us because we missed out on CL for long time?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, at the time the club was not a regular at the highest level of the game. There is nothing wrong with the club saying they would like the option to talk again particularly after Adidas were dumped by Chelsea.}

Anyone see the article Carra wrote? It's about the Klopp comments on Studge. Pretty much seem's like he's written it to Sturridge tell him to go out there and show what you can do.

1.) 29 Nov 2015 09:13:00
Id prefer mane he's rapid and scores goals although mahrez is very good! can we have both its xmas.
I think our main priority is a gk. I have never liked mignolet yet another of the football geniuses buys.
Where would we be now if klopp had been given 200-300 million?

2.) 29 Nov 2015 09:25:42
Swanseared do you even care about the actual football? Or is it all about transfers and what/who we could buy? I'm enjoying what our team improve and excited to see where this team can go.

3.) 29 Nov 2015 12:18:06
Lol so am i i was being sarcastic, with most fans wanting 2 buy a new team each summer!
I don't think we are that far off being very competative but a new gk is a must u can't trust migs atal.
Jurgen klopp is the only singing i wanted an we got him - i'm very happy.

22 Nov 2014 21:39:09
Something red, he might be best like that as you said. But when we have coutinho, lallana, markovic, gerrard that can play in the hole, sterling may be the best option up top. Personally I play lambert off him and get lallana into the team

1.) 23 Nov 2014 02:54:55
On merit, Sterling won't start a match for us. One goal till now is a very poor stats.

03 May 2014 04:44:44
Just a quick question Eds. If the English teams do well in Europe for a couple of years on the trot, is there a possibility of the Premier League ever getting a 5th Champions League spot?

{Ed001's Note - no.}

1.) The Premier League already had a '5th spot'. When we won the Champions League and finished 5th in the Premier League and Everton finishing 4th. England had 5 teams in the Champions League, in some capacity the next season.

{Ed002's Note - That was an exception.}

At the end of the day we did not do enough to win the game, regardless of the results. All we can do is hope we can pick ourselves up for the next game. Top 4 is still ours to lose.

Are the loan to by deals mainly done to help the buying club in regards to FFP? Just trying to understand the reason for a loan to buy instead of getting the deal done straight away. Thanks.
