Hi Eds, hope you're having a good day.
Wanted to ask, if nobody meets our asking price for Balotelli is it possible he stays? Or will we try to get rid by any means whether it be a minimal fee or a loan where we pay some of his wages and an option to buy
Cheers

YoungRed

{Ed002's Note - If nobody makes an acceptable offer then he stays.}

1.) 09 Jun 2015 13:13:24
I'm sure we're better off selling Balo but I still kind of long to see him and Sturridge up top together one last time - I watched the first Tottenham game again over the weekend and was noticeable how much Balo brought to the game vs. a few notable others. I even think Balo + Ings or Origi would be interesting in a twin striker setup.

While potentially a disruptive influence (can't really comment on that, just from rumours) I can't help but believe we couldn't have gotten more from him by treating him with a bit more respect and playing him with a strike partner.

2.) 09 Jun 2015 22:02:07
Could a bag of Quavers and a couple of bald tyres be considered an acceptable offer, or is that too much ?

3.) 10 Jun 2015 16:11:44
Only if the bald tyres have mohicans

Hi Eds, I've noticed you've said we hold an interest in Mane and Goetze.

Do you reckon we want both, or is it a case of one or the other?

Cheers.

YoungRed

{Ed002's Note - I would avoid trying to complicate matters YR. My expectation is only one will be likely, but if some, say Firmino, were to leave then that might change.}

1.) 23 Jun 2016 17:16:52
Gotze won't be coming here. If we'd beaten Sevilla and got Champions League footy, maybe we'd have had a better chance of getting him, plus, Arsenal are now sniffing around him. The reported £30m asking price for Sadio Mane is very steep, but, given our transfer history under Fenway, we will probably pay it.

2.) 23 Jun 2016 17:28:32
Ed it would appear that we are pushing for Mane the most, Or is that just because Goetze is at the Euros?

{Ed002's Note - "the most" eh?}

3.) 23 Jun 2016 17:50:40
Lol yes mate "the most". Or at least that's what it appears to be to us imortals who rely on scraps and need your expertise.

4.) 23 Jun 2016 18:27:23
I get nervous when ED002 uses examples as in "but if some, say Firmino, were to leave then that might change". Sometimes it's a hint, and I hope to God it isn't in Firmino's case.

5.) 23 Jun 2016 23:00:17
Yes because ed2 might really be meaning coutinho. It's gone quiet for now but it is still likely he wants to leave and will push for a move. Only then would we see another brought in. I think he avoided saying coutinho because of stupid posters.

Jerome Sinclair left out of the tour squad. Very bad news

YoungRed

1.) 11 Jul 2015 12:20:48
It was only recently that he was included in an article on Sky about which young talent would be the next to burst onto the scene.

2.) 11 Jul 2015 12:22:13
No Illori either. Is he injured?

3.) 11 Jul 2015 12:34:18
How do you know that? Any other notable omissions?

{Ed008's Note - Ilori is still on holiday he won't return to Liverpool until after the tour I would think.

4.) 11 Jul 2015 12:52:25
Illori will get time off due to euros , chill

5.) 11 Jul 2015 12:56:42
No Ballotelli

6.) 11 Jul 2015 13:02:14
Ilori has time off, but he is in Liverpool, or was. Same goes for Emre Can, Coutinho and Firmino. Balotelli, Borini and our social media expert, Enrique have all been left out. The greedy one has been included though.

Looks like the Premier League fixtures computer doesn't want Brendan to be Liverpool manager for very long!

He won't last until November.

YoungRed

1.) 17 Jun 2015 09:53:36
Or maybe we could do ok in them fixtures and go on to have a good season . Stoke away is a chance to put it right straight away imo

2.) 18 Jun 2015 00:21:56
If he is as clueless as he was in that final game then expect another hiding

15 Jun 2015 12:38:46
The Inter Milan Director has said that Kovacic will stay.

I think that's that then.

YoungRed

1.) 15 Jun 2015 12:56:55
They said the same thing about Coutinho and look what happened there! i'm not saying its happening but its not dead in the water yet!

2.) 15 Jun 2015 13:41:20
"I can categorically tell you Mario Balotelli will not be at Liverpool"

3.) 15 Jun 2015 13:51:36
I hope it`s true. We good player and defo an upgrade if other mids like Allen are sold and if milner hadn`t been bought. Since that`s not the case and the only way Allen will go is if BR is sacked then, spend the money elsewhere because we have issues that Kovacic`s arrival can`t fix

4.) 15 Jun 2015 14:30:30
RedFuzz that's a Rodgers quote and I doubt the Inter director would say something like that if it wasn't true! He's probably annoyed at the way we've tried to sign him like Ed002 said.

And Adrian I think it was Coutinho himself who said he was staying at Inter, not the director.

5.) 15 Jun 2015 14:51:05
I know, my point was that things can change fast.

6.) 15 Jun 2015 15:00:47
Could be posturing.

Either way opinion on the transfer varied from "great signing" to "not a priority".
I wouldn't be up in arms if he doesn't sign, we have plenty of midfield options.

7.) 15 Jun 2015 13:35:07
Seems strange considering there after more interest from other clubs. Why come out and say that!

I am devastated tbh because he is exactly what we need! 150% upgrade on our entire midfield. Quick, good breaking the lines, great passing range, good vision, great injury record, can press! Him and Henderson in a 3, 2 or diamond would be terrific.

Cant see it happening now though which is a shame, I think were onto our 3rd choice now after Stindl & Mk.

I think there's a lot more frustration to come thus window.

Thanks ed002 for sharing that information with us on Friday, it was much appreciated!

I wouldn't take any of the abuse to heart, as you need to remember everyone's anger was directed towards the club but noone can message them and vent that anger, but they can message you. So you took all the abuse. Not fair as you were being top notch with the info you gave us, unfortunately it hasn't materialised, nit because of you but our wonderful club.

Thanks ed002

8.) 15 Jun 2015 18:06:01
Why can't we get these deals over the line tho? Why do we fall at the last hurdle, it's the same story every window!

9.) 15 Jun 2015 18:20:43
With people saying we have midlfield options etc

"don't need kovacic"

It helps if you have enough good midfield options and frankly we don't.

Allen (injury prone)
Can (developing)
Hendo
Lucas (too injury prone)
Coutinho

Is that midfield good enough for top 4? Nope

Every season under br my worry has always been the midfield because it just isn't good enough, kovacic is very much needed!!

10.) 15 Jun 2015 18:43:16
You forgot Lucas, Lallana, Milner and the youth players. I don´t get that if Can is developing then he isn´t good enough? Kovacic is also developing, and perhaps he would need time to adapt to the pace of the EPL.

11.) 15 Jun 2015 20:29:11
redfuzz:you got that right mate, balo has not been with us since he joined.

14 Jun 2015 10:17:29
I think after Kovacic, we won't see much activity in bringing in players for a while.
We've got so many layers on our books that are up for Sale, and I think the priority will be that we need to find them new clubs, whether permanently or on loan.
Enrique, Borini, Lambert, Balotelli, Sterling, Ilori, Coates, Lucas (sadly), Alberto, and Yesil.

YoungRed

1.) 14 Jun 2015 10:58:46
What about the top striker the club desperately needs? Just because the club is overrun with players does not mean LFC will finish in the top4 next season. There are options out there like Tevez, Aubameyang etc that can be got if enough effort and desire is shown on the club's part. If the club's main aim is to cut the squad size, then it should start selling unwanted players as soon as possible. Coates, Sterling, Borini, Lambert will find buyers easily. Lucas and Ilori should stay if Skrtel quits. Alberto, Balo and Enrique are the 3 players that will take some effort to shift but the club should be doing everything possible to get rid than keeping them on the books as an excuse to not sign the required players (top striker in LFC's case).

2.) 14 Jun 2015 18:56:09
Have been posting the same thing about the top striker position like you, Indian but still no one has answered that as it seems all we can do is collect mids with no idea who will score the goals that win you games. The excuse that we are overrun with strikers is a dumb argument. We are overrun with strikers who either can't score, can't stay fit, can't get a game or aren't good enuff to score the twenty plus goals needed to compete at the top end. Meaning? We have NO strikers.

It will be easier now that we have agreed a fee for Jerome Sinclair, with Watford.

Only thing stopping PZ from joining now is Poland at the Euros.

This flaw of his will be his downfall. Can't see him lasting too long with 3 attacking midfielders and no defensive minded one, in the same midfield.

Ed does this mean Kovacic isn't going to happen? Shame that

YoungRed

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has had the opportunity to complete a deal for Kovacic - I have explained this over and over. They don't have the money to meet Inter's terms and are reluctant to meet the increased price Inter want under the terms Liverpool want.}

All Emre Can needs is a run of games in midfield, start him off at DM with the right defensive coaching and he could become a juggernaut in a few years time.

We also need a defensive minded midfielder, or we will continue to ship more goals next season. I think its just as important as getting a striker.
Also the strikers we have aren't actually that bad, maybe if they were given a run of games and some trust instead of putting a 20 year old winger in their position instead they would score more goals?

Where does that leave Emre Can? Emre should be one of the first players on the teamsheet.
