Latest rumours have Arsenal making a 20 Mil bid to get S. Jovetic from Fiorentina. Certainly if we can get anywhere around 12-15 Mil for Carroll and package that money with Borini (who Fiorentina have expressed interest in) we could beat Arsenal to this amazing player. A front 3 of Sturridge (ST), Suarez (RF), and Jovetic (LF) would be devestating. One can only hope right. {Ed002's Note - But Liverpool have shown no interest in Jovetic, and another club has been looking to open discussions with Fiorentina in the past couple of weeks. As such, I think it unlikely that Jovetic will be moving to Liverpool this summer.}

Based on the current team and the positions reportedly targeted so far I feel that LFC only need 3 more signings this summer (in addition to Lambert & Can) to compete for the PL title next season and in the CL.

Starting quality LB: Moreno, Rodriguez (My Choice)
Starting quality Wing/AM: Sanchez, Griezman (My Choice), Candreva, Shaqiri
Starting quality CB: Lovern

I also wouldn't mind Richards coming in but only if Johnson is sold.

Thoughts?

Ed002, I'm fully with you on my long term concerns about BR's player preferances and how they could end up setting back LFC in the future. i'm fully behind BR and LFC to be better this season (showed better form after Christmas last year) but if he doesn't get Top 4 this year or next and leaves LFC what will the club be left with? Possibly no Suarez, Gerrard retiring, and a lot of players like Pacheco (who was once a prized youngster but flamed out and is now worth nothing on the market). i'm excited about Coutinho and Sturridge but the other purchases have me more worried than not that they will flop.

Eds, Work Permit issues have been mentioned with more than a few players in the past. If RM tried to include him in any Suarez deal would their be any WP issues? He is not an international and could hardly be considered an exceptional prospect at his age. {Ed002's Note - It would help to say who you are referring to.}

So Aspas has been GIVEN the #9. I would have preferred Sturridge to get it as I thought he earned it last season. Thoughts? {Ed052's Note - Its very rare that players change a shirt number once they've already been given one, so that why DS probably hasn't changed}

Eds and fans, Can we please stop referring to Aspas as a prospect. The man is 25 years old and while he looks to improve depth and do a job I don't see him suddenly turning into a world class forward. There is a reason he has never sniffed the Spanish National team despite all their issues at forward the last few years.

I do have much higher hope for Mignolet and Alberto but if Suarez is sold I think we need more quality than Aspas as a replacement.
