People worrying about fitting Sturridge and Balo into one side need not worry, Balo can and has played on both wide forward roles, so I imagine he'd take Suarez's role. If we do get him, he's going on the back of my shirt. Bloody cult legend in the making.

Hi guys, just thought I'd see what everyone thought about LFC refusing to refund shirts with Suarez on the back of them. Personally I think the club is mostly right not to refund and people who got his name on their back are quite naïve. The Suarez move this summer has been quite obvious since last summer. If a player changed his number then I'd see it differently and expect the club or the player to refund it (á la Bendtner).
I don't remember a fuss about names on shirts when Owen left for Madrid in 2004. I do remember we took the mick out of my mate for being in that situation though.
I'm sure it's an issue that a lot of people won't give a damn about though!
1.) Maybe should ask Suarez to refund them!
2.) 10 Jul 2014 17:07:11
You bought the jersey, you keep it. It's just people being dramatic; there's no reason why the club should be held responsible to refund money for jerseys that are not faulty.
3.) At the end of the day the transfer window is open. If you are stupid enough to have printed the name of a player heavily linked with a move away, then it's your own fault.
4.) 10 Jul 2014 18:17:28
Why? You chose to put his name.
5.) My cousin got an Owen shirt when he was about 6 in 2004, his surname is Power and when Owen left the LFC store in town took the 'n' off and shoved a P on the front and an R on the end free of charge. It was their idea when he went in there crying about it too haha!
6.) I've still got one with candy on it, and one with crown, and one with a curry stain
7.) It is a bit embarrassing, the club can hardly be held accountable for a player leaving. We all knew there was a chance of Suarez leaving, should I demand a refund off Bill Gates when my x-box is outdated? What worries me is that on the echo website, just over half of the people thought the club should refund the fans. I would have more sympathy if it were a number change, as already mentioned.

I should add though, I don't want us to sign him, just the Chinese league point with all the other factors involved, including his difficulty settling, is a ridiculous one.

Because he did really well in a league much stronger than the Chinese league, and also the Champions League.

Oh Ed002 you tease.
Man, if he joins just support the guy. I'm sure with Rodgers having worked with him before he has seen something he thinks he can get out of him to turn him into a really good full-back.

You think Dier is a bad player? Jeez. I dunno how Spurs are all of a sudden a bad side, despite being a really good side last season. Spurs are a dangerous side, and if they beat us I wouldn't be surprised. We can beat them, and I think we will, but I wouldn't go as far as saying we *should* beat the current Spurs team at their gaff.

Fanobip, an inside left was a left sided central attacking midfielder. It's not a position we name anymore, more that's roughly what it equates to. An outside left was like a left winger.

Yes MK, just putting one in with the same amount of games would be a big mistake, the amount of games is bad enough as it is without reducing the time we have to play them. I guess they could start the season 1 or 2 weeks earlier, but frankly the League Cup only gets people interested at the semi stage, and some people not at all.

I think a winter break is necessary. Personally I'd cancel the League Cup (or cancel Premier League teams' entry into it) and have the break for 10-14 days before Christmas, starting again with the Boxing Day games (which I'd be loathe to lose) . The FA Cup only starts for Prem teams in January anyway so is irrelevant to the break, it'd require fitting 3 or so games which were rearranged before Christmas into the rest of the schedule. Probably 2 before the break and 1 afterwards because of the space freed by the cancelling of the League Cup. I wouldn't have a winter break in the rest of the divisions, only the Prem. Personally I agree RE the Football League structure, though I think 20 in the Prem should be the case, I'd reduce the other 3 divisions to 20 teams each, reducing their league schedule by 6 games.

Isn't it the case that we (and others) declined our places because our youth squads will be decimated during the rounds which clash with international youth football?
