Well. nice piece of steak and a couple of beers and inspiration has hit.

To the tune. obladi oblada

Jurgen saw this lad in the bundes league, had himself a Stevie G tattoo

Watched him burst the net with a sweet free-kick and thought "I'll bring him in to play for Liverpool"

How many beers.

I must mention that due to editorial discretion the word f*****g has been omitted twice before the word great ??.

3.) 06 Jul 2023 21:07:06
No more than we could buy with the mbappe "offer" to be fair.

4.) 07 Jul 2023 10:37:02
Well done, Torben.
The steak, I mean.

5.) 08 Jul 2023 10:55:37
Nice one, Torben. Son's 5th B day party so was on the BBQ grill duty yesterday and the steaks and ribs were on the conveyor belt like no tmrw, too. The bruskies (beers) were off the chain, as well.

All seems a bit "glass half empty" on here. its the same on RAWK. Let's look at it from a slightly different perspective. Imagine you are Spurs. very few injuries. made an excellent start to the season. made your way to the top of the league. except. there are liverpool sat right next to you. who have played with an unrecognisable defence and about 7000 permutations at centre back. They are playing academy kids at centre back in premier league and champions league games. and they are keeping up with the pace set by our full squad.

Liverpool will get stronger this season. Spurs and many others will get weaker. We are in a fantastic position. I make us favourites still.

Good post Torben. As a fan of any football club emotions are always going to rule the day and in this day and age with social media it’s very easy to fire from the hip. Christ I do it myself. You’ve got to take the rough with the smooth and yesterday was extremely rough. Klopp is a world class manager and arguably the best in the world. But in hindsight he’s probably regretting some decisions from last week. Like did Salah and Trent need to play 90 mins and what if he had kept Origi on instead of Jota. He’s human amazingly he makes mistakes like the rest of us. Yesterday Fulham looked fitter, faster and stronger than us yesterday but I’m sure that was down to fatigue. They would have had a weeks break whilst we had 3 days. Problem is the players only have 2 days rest before facing Spurs. But they are in the exact same boat except they played thu and sun. I’m hoping for and expecting a reaction on wed night but due to the injuries and fixture list we should expect to witness more of these performances over the season. The good thing is we came away with a point yesterday when realistically Fulham deserved all 3. Poor finishing and Allison bailed us out yesterday. But we move on to Wed. We’ve been spoilt this last 2 years and we actually forgot what not winning feels likes. We have no divine right to success like every other football club in world football.

I agree 100% Torben. Spot on. But Im scared most will just ignore this, no matter how full of sense it is.

3.) 14 Dec 2020 07:01:33
You could well be correct. My only concern would be is how long we can get away with playing academy kids, midfielders at CB and the amount of injuries have to endure before we drop points? Spurs or whoever might be out of reach by the time they get weaker and we become stronger.
Losing, VVD, Gomez, Jota, Milner, Matip, Milner, Shaq etc is pretty hard to replace. We need bodies back ASAP.

4.) 14 Dec 2020 08:41:47
Spot on, OP. My only gripe with the game is the way we started. We knew what was t stake and knew what time it was YET we come out so flat, uninterested and lacked any form of urgency at all. We just seemed to watch them play, were nsecond to every ball/ challenge and were that Adrian in goal, we lose the game in the first half cos in terms of approach, it was Villa all over again. We need to start away games quicker, faster and much better than we have been cos it is killing us right now.

On the positive side, I fully agree with you that Spurs are having their best start to a season in more than a generation YET they cannot seem to pull away from an LFC team that have been walking wounded, battered and bruised for weeks now with injury and fatigue. That is an indictment on them and their manager, IMO cos if the roles were reversed, Spurs would only be seeing our dust. Looking forward to Wed cos right now, Klopp and the boys are pissed off and we all know what happens when Klopp is pissed off before the next game comes around. Just ask Wolves.

{Ed025's Note - at least we know now why the weather is so wet in britain RM, its the constant tears that klipperty is shedding, what has happened to that happy go lucky guy, the media darling that we all loved and begrudgingly admired? he is turning into mourinho mate and constantly whingeing and whining about every decision ffs, so you have got a couple of injuries
...so what, so do other teams, as you know i have given jurgen massive praise in the past and have been his biggest fan, but he needs to get a grip and stop the incessant moaning and just suck it up, the world is not in league against liverpool and there is no conspiracy against them, so klopp if your reading this GET A GRIP MAN...we want the nice guy back!!..

5.) 14 Dec 2020 09:23:16
Ed25, the content of your response does not address anything I posted in my comments nor does it have anything remotely related to it. You may have a lot to get off your chest or something BUT I literally have no idea who or to what you are referring to cos no one moaned nor cried about anything in my comments. Peace and Love.

{Ed025's Note - thats fair comment RM, its just that you were the first poster when i signed in and i just needed to get that off my chest mate..sorry..

6.) 14 Dec 2020 09:26:57
Maybe it's my wishful thinking but, maybe it's good so many people are able to slate, whinge, moan and groan on these pages all the time? From a therapeutic sense. The thinking is that if all the venom is spent out here, people will have less to spew out elsewhere and walk around with happy faces? 😁

I agree to the Klopp comment by Ed025. It's been ages since we saw the funny, charismatic Klopp. In pressies he's mostly straight faced and on the pitch he's snarling far more often than usual.

{Ed025's Note - a lot of liverpools sucess imo ArAy has been down to the feel good factor klopp brought to the club, the wit the humour the smile he has been a breath of fresh air to the EPL, sadly recently this has been on the wane mate and the media darling is turning into the grinch, bring back the nice one please..

7.) 14 Dec 2020 10:11:20
I don't think I'd be happy if I were Klopp right now. I don't believe this nonsense about everything been against Liverpool but it's no secret he's had a lot of bad luck with the team so far this season. I wouldn't exactly be chuffed myself either. Still though, he'll be smiling at the end when we lift the trophy again.

Very well said torben.

8.) 14 Dec 2020 10:27:03
Ah, ok cos that came out of nowhere, lol. As for Klopp moaning, I think he should let it go now cos nothing will change even tho, Ole and Pep and now Frank said the very same thing and no one complained about them moaning. Maybe they were smart enuff to just let it go esp. Pep cos he stopped talking about it a while ago.

As for the feel good factor and smiling, cut the guy some slack, okay? There are things literally crumbling around him that he has very little control over so asking him to smile and all that, is a bit of a stretch, don't you think? There are managers going thru way less and they are not even smiling so let us not raise the bar for some and lower the bar for others, okay?

In his post game presser tho, he did not moan about anything so I think he too has let it go. All in all, The season is difficult for but at diff. degrees. This is the hand we have been dealt so let's just move on from all this.

9.) 14 Dec 2020 11:13:31
Sorry to drain your glass, Torben, but there's no guarantee that we will suffer less injuries from now on or that Spurs will weaken. Love the positivity but in reality anything could happen to any teams form over the rest of the season.

10.) 14 Dec 2020 15:55:08
Sorry we've displeased you so greatly Red Meister. We'll mind our ways from here onwards. I promise.

I have been reading some threads further down the page regarding Klopps position if he fails to win something this season. To an extent I see both sides. If it was my money I would be waiting for the kudos of some silverware at this stage. On the other hand I like that this feels like the most successfully planned improvement the club has seen since Sir Kenny assembled the Barnes, Beardsley Aldridge trio. Its that which gives us the confidence. Did anyone really expect us to improve after the 2013/ 14 season. No, it was a freak. If we achieve 90 points this season, would you be confident we will next season. Much moreso I would suggest!

And just because nobody ever seems to say it. I just want to say. Salah, I am right with you mate, the reigns will be off this team soon and we will begin our unstoppable march to the title. What we have done so far is something we don't usually achieve. We haven't allowed a mountain to grow between us and the leaders. This is the year guys. I know it is!

1.) 09 Nov 2018 20:28:57
Torben, Klopp himself knows he has to win something. Why? Cos he is a winner and has the trophy cabinet to back it up unlike some other managers I can mention who have won nothing in their careers YET are being hailed as "brilliant" managers. Do I want a trophy? Absolutely BUT it depends on the trophy. Would you take a League/ FA Cup over a top 4 finish? I would not cos things have changed now cos top 4 is seen as more important than those trophies.

Chelsea and Arsenal are toiling in the EL and if you think they would not swap places for us then you are joking. Even DDG and Willian said that the FA Cup was nothing to them as they would prefer a top 4 finish or a CL or PL title before they met in the final last season. The ideal thing would be to win a trophy and get top 4 BUT that may or may not happen.

IMO, the owners know that Klopp is the best chance we have of winning anything right now and he has earned that trust by the great work he has done so far. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush, as they say. So for me, I trust him and am ready to ride with him till the very end cos he like I said, has earned my trust. That's the way i see it.

2.) 10 Nov 2018 15:31:04
I love the way people think its the owners who pay for the signings out of their own pockets. The CLUB pays for the signings, and Klopp getting us back in the top 4 and to two European finals has helped provide the funds for this to happen. The owners are laughing all the way to the bank with Klopp in charge.

Two words. Didi Hamman. Probably the best holding midfielder of his generation. Looked like he was running in treacle. I know "for sure" that Fabinho is the best holding midfielder we have now. Get behind him and maybe one day he will play like the kaiser in a champions league final.

You lot are probably getting sick of me, but you do realise Makalele was around at that time?

2.) 29 Jul 2018 12:27:13
He was a very handy player to have in our team. How we could have done with a player of his quality over the last few years.

3.) 29 Jul 2018 13:21:53
Saim is spot on. Makalele is one of the all time greats. Didn’t he pretty much invent that position?

4.) 29 Jul 2018 14:17:03
makalele never looked rushed, positional sense wins every time, Mashcarano (spelling) always looked great in highlight reels because he was always diving in due to never been in the right place to start with.

5.) 29 Jul 2018 15:08:35
Didi was nowhere near the best around.

Lucas Leiva isn't exactly the quickest either and he was one of our most underrated players.

2.) 29 Jul 2018 13:00:48
Lucas was massively underrated.

Hhanif005 when we push the full backs on you will notice that a centre mid. typically fab will almost make a back 3. The extra CB would serve to allow us to consistently have 7 players in the opposition half. meaning no space for teams to play their game. more turnovers and less running for front players. It honestly would feel like a good evolution of the current system to me.

Kind of think moving to a 343 with 3 excellent and quick centre backs would definitely fit the klopp ethos. Free up Robertson and TAA a little more and continue to defend our half way line like a pack of vicious dogs. Reduces the impact of aging centre mids as we would only need 2 starting each game. This could be klopps finest masterstroke!

Based on the way we play I would have to say mark lawrensonto be fair. His recovery pace would be a real blessing!

Personally. and this would be a very controversial view I know. I can see a lot of upsides to actually signing messi (words i never thought i would type) . The commercial agreement with Nike is set up for a marquee signing. why else gamble on kit sales when you don't need to? Secondly. Harvey elliot. imagine. really. I don't even need to finish that sentence. Plus. he is actually not a bad player and is perfectly capable in 3 or 4 positions the way we set up. even from a moneyball perspective it would actually work with extra kit sales plus benefits to youngsters. Worth saying. I think messi is alright. never his biggest fan or biggest critic but can logically make an arguement for anything. Discuss 🤣.
