Hi Edd's. A name that seems to have disappeared down the Chelski toilet is Marko Marin. What's happened to him and would he be a viable target for this window or the summer?

Tiff79

{Ed002's Note - He is on loan to Sevilla and playing well. He won't be joining Liverpool.}

Can someone help settle an argument.

Do we make any money from shirt sales or do we just get the season lump of cash or do we get the sponsor money and a percentage of shirt sales?

Tiff79

{Ed002's Note - The money from shirt sales goes to the manufacturer, the distributor and the retailer, who can make extra adding numbers and names to the shirts. If the club are the retailer (club shop, club website etc.) then they get the retailers cut. The manufacturer (Adidas, Umbro, Nike etc.) pay the club an amount each year which allows them to manufacture and sell the shirts using the correct logos etc.. That is how they justify the money given to the club. So if you walk in to a high street store and buy a Liverpool or Arsenal shirt - nothing goes to the club. There are a few clubs that have negotiated different deals with manufacturers (Real Madrid with Adidas and Barcelona with Nike are the two obvious examples) based upon joint reselling ventures. So the income from shirts is fixed to the £xM or whatever Adidas, Nike etc. pay the club plus a small amount for reselling through the club retail outlets (shop, web).}

1.) Which is why I only ever buy my shirts from the Anfield shop or club website!

2.) Apparently your wrong EMS lol
Trolls following you again?

3.) Unbelievable!!

4.) Ahhh, whatever makes people feel significant Mikey mate. Not sure how you can disagree with a factual statement which is exactly why I no longer take notice of the ageee/disagree function ;)

Can't be asked to get into that again though. Perhaps people just don't believe me? No way I'd pour money into Cashleys pockets though by purchasing it from sports soccer or whatever he's calling it at the minute.

5.) OMFG stop it with this trolls thing just because some one disagrees with you.
People may actually disagree with the sentiment of buying from the LFC website because that money goes to Liverpool but in turn if every one did that, there would be no kit deal to speak of, as sponsors would have no financial gain and thus pull the sponsorship deal

They could be disagreeing with the fact that as I personally saw it, EMS trying to aggrandize his support of the club because he buys from the shop.

For the record I neither agreed or disagreed on the post, Nor do I think those disagreeing are ''trolls'' that's how the statement came across to me, and clearly a fair few other people

That escalated quickly

7.) Maybe for every 10 disagrees a little peanut drops down for them mate haha

8.) Bob, look again. I never said they were trolls. I did say perhaps they just don't believe me. I'm not trying to make out I'm a better fan because I order from the club shop, just stating that this is why I do it. Every little helps in modern football :)

Also, you're completely wrong about sponsors pulling out if we only ever ordered from the LFC shop. The sponsors and distributors would still get their cut (and most of the money), LFC would only get the retailers cut.

Therefore the only people losing out would be sports retailers and it wouldn't affect our sponsorship deals even remotely.

I honestly don't care about people disagreeing with me or why they do it. The only reason you all think I do is because of one misunderstanding when I made a suggestion on how to improve the function just for the sake of getting an accurate representation of opinion. Imagine how bad the general election would be if people could vote more than once? My only point was, why have the function at all unless you're going to make it work properly. I couldn't care less if I get 500 disagrees to be honest!

Look what you've started now Mikey ;) Just for that you can have a disagree! (and an agree; why not?)

from what Ed002 put

'' The manufacturer (Adidas, Umbro, Nike etc.) pay the club an amount each year which allows them to manufacture and sell the shirts using the correct logos'' so take into account selling to sports direct(cashleys), jdsports etc in UK alone, there would probably have to be some negotiating down of that sponsorship deal

EMS you've called the people disagreeing with you trolls in the past. And I notice you didn't disagree with mikey calling them it.

Hoping we sign a decent defensive midfielder and another 'keeper.

Has anyone got any idea when the stadium work will begin and how will it affect the season when it does?

A couple of months ago there was talk on here of the younger hazard brother being looked at. Did anything come of that?

Tiff79

{Ed001's Note - yes, he went on loan to Germany.....}

Yes it's what if time. My favorite time of summer. So here goes.

What if we sell Luis to Barca and get Sanchez in with the deal (to throw a number out £60 million and Sanchez).
could we then sell sanchez on (i wouldn't want to but remember this is 'what if') to say Arsenal or whoever for 30-35 million if he didn't kick a ball for us and then invest in all squad areas with the resulting 90-95 million?
This isn't a financial question as such but more a selling on question.

Tiff79

{Ed002's Note - Looking for ways to make Liverpool a laughing stock? Why quote these numbers which are light years from correct?}
