How likely is it that Salah will be sold in the summer? Reading that his agent is pushing for a move to Real makes it seem more probable.
Thanks.

Thb

{Ed002's Note - I have no way of measuring "likely" but the club will look to resist it.}

Any indication as to whether Salah or his agent would push for the move? Eg transfer request? Or is it too early to tell? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - This is something I explained way back in November/December and I have explained it as it is. Nothing more.}

Real Madrid are in a difficult situation. They have 3 aging forwards in Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema, none of whom will command the fees they were signed for even in this market, and considering their age, wage demands and fitness issues, Real Madrid may really struggle to off load them. I doubt they will manage to sell all of them this summer considering the fact that most teams will want better players like Griezmann, Suarez, Aguero, Alli, Ozil, Lemar etc who all look like being available at the right price. Ronaldo's name alone will sell him to be fair. Probably to PSG as part of a deal for Neymar. But Bale and Benzema will be very hard to shift and i can't think of a single team who could afford them that would actually want them. Maybe Man United will make another high cost mistake on an aging player and put the final nail in Rashford's Man United career?

If Real Madrid can offload some of their aging ex-stars, they might come after the likes of Hazard, Kane and Salah. Bearing in mind that Salah has only really been operating at the same level as those other 2 players for 6 months, i doubt Real Madrid will be prepared to fork out what will no doubt be an astronomical asking price from Liverpool.

Madrid have a huge rebuild to do and Salah is more interested in them than they are in him. So holding on to him for at least another season doesn't look too difficult. I'm not ITK at all, this is all just my opinion.

{Ed002's Note - Real Madrid ave a very well defined two you plan already in place. They are clear about players going and their targets - which is the reason why Salah pushed his agent to enquire. You should take all of this supposition to the correct page.}

just to add a comment to a few of the points. I think there is a strong possibility of Neymar ending up at RM when ronnie goes! It almost looks as if he used PSG as a stepping stone as Barcelona would have never sold him directly to RM.

Also i only just thought about it now, but Sanchez going to UTD has hurt rashys chances i guess even more. I only really rate De Gea, but thought under LVG, rashy was pretty decent and movement top class.

Summer will be an interesting window for sure! But Given we let's couts go in jan, i don't think We will want to let salah go so early.

4.) 26 Jan 2018 19:03:35
As long as we don’t accept Bale as part of any deal for Salah I’ll be happy.

5.) 26 Jan 2018 22:01:07
If we continue to sell our best players we won’t even challenge for the FA cup, let alone the league.

As much as I’ve respected and still have respect for FSG, for what they have done for the club - and I think they have been very good “ owners” - maybe it’s time we had a new regime at the helm that can take us to the next level, in order to compete with City and United in terms of financial muscle.

6.) 26 Jan 2018 22:53:26
Drogie this has been done over today too many times, we sell the 'best' players because they don't want to be here, why would you want them to stay if they don't want to be playing for us? We are not selling our best players for the sake of it mate, we sold Coutinho why? he went on strike, he was a nuisance who had to go, that wasn't the clubs fault.

7.) 26 Jan 2018 23:06:56
I've been working away mate, so have not really been on here. So regardless to what’s been said previously today, I’ve replied to the above comment with my opinion.

This isn’t just about Couthino - In recent times, top players we sign end up not wanting to be at the club because we no longer win anything, or challenge for the league. United for example have also been guilty of this but have the financial clout to pay big Salaries in order to keep their best players.

8.) 26 Jan 2018 23:35:47
Yes drogie, ed covered this in depth. Torres. Suarez, coutihno, Sterling etc all didn’t want to be here and did their utmost to leave. They are not being sold for the money, they were sold cos they were basically refusing to play.

9.) 27 Jan 2018 00:01:38
Swish. I’ve not said they are being sold for the money.

We haven’t won a trophy in years and are no where near challenging for the league. Top players want to win trophies and be paid a big salary, something we simply cannot offer as it stands, this is my point!

10.) 27 Jan 2018 00:33:24
Offering a player a better salary isn't going to win us trophies mate, I think we can offer a player one of these big salaries but we're careful about it and been wise, even if we'd of offered Coutinho double the salary he was on, he wouldn't of wanted to stay, sure it's because he knew going to Barcelona he will win things BUT it says it all to me, we want players who want to be at Liverpool.

If we had a team full of proper dedicated members we'd go far, there's too many corrupted players these days, all they want is money and trophies immediately, they don't seem to want to be part of transition, they don't want to be part of a team who are building, they want instant success and it doesn't always work like that, we don't want players like that.

Please read some of Ed2's replies this morning mate.

I'm not having a go, I'm just saying be all and end all is, we can't have players who don't give it their all, no matter how good they are, if they throw their toys out of the pram and be little brats (like Coutinho, Suarez etc), then they can sod right off, everybody is replaceable. We're a TEAM now, when we had Suarez it was practically a 1 man team, he made others look decent, most notably Sterling and Sturridge but it was all down to him, now we don't rely on one player, we have a team of decent players, sure we need reinforcements but progress is happening.

11.) 27 Jan 2018 00:38:27
But we are paying big money; big wages and any other year we would be in with a title shot based on what a ‘normal’ points tally which would win the league. We are improving, by no means perfect. Having a sugar daddy at th helm doesn’t guarentte success! Look at Man Utd having spent 500mil in 4 years and are about 3 points in front, the owners have backed the club, we’ve broken out transfer record 3 times in 8 months. ghe club still needs to operate within its means and we’re playing catch up on the commercial side. Even chelsea with Roman’s riches have had to pull back their spending to comply.

12.) 27 Jan 2018 08:10:25
The last time we won the FA Cup was back in 2006 then the League cup in 2012 and the League?

Players want to win trophies as well as being well paid, if we are not successful players will leave, as we’ve seen time after time.

13.) 27 Jan 2018 08:34:13
I don't see the issue with players wanting to leave for real or barca. Players want success not just money. We have to sell our best players because at sometime or another they just don't to play for us and the only reason I can think of is that we haven't been successful in a long time. Once we get some degree of success, like regular champions league place, challenging for the league and champions league on a regular basis and win a few trophies I'm sure players would like to stay with us. But unless we do that, we need to accept that we will be a stepping stone for top players.

14.) 27 Jan 2018 09:32:37
If a player wants to leave that's fine, there's nothing fans can do to stop it. But what I would hope for is that the club would plan ahead and get a replacement at least signed up before letting the player go.

The plan for both Coutinho and Suarez seems to have been to convince them to stay for as long as possible, even though the club knew at the very least a year in advance that they wanted to leave.

15.) 27 Jan 2018 12:01:08
Hi Ed02 hope you are well. Sorry if i missed it but did Salah ask his agent to enquire about a move to Real Madrid since he has been with us?

Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

16.) 27 Jan 2018 13:16:24
It’s all about money though isn’t it? His stock is sky high at the momentt and the ink has hardly dried on his contract so unless he has a clause then Madrid or whoever may come calling would need a wheel barrow full of money.

17.) 27 Jan 2018 15:10:10
It's not about us selling our best players (as someone already stated), it's about the fact we have not challenged for any major trophies in years and we never seem to do it whilst our good players get even better which then frustrates them and they want to leave.

18.) 27 Jan 2018 16:01:13
For me, its about replacing these so called stars when they leave, we have been very very poor in that way the last few years,
there is a reason why we haven't won much lately,
I think Klopp will get us some silverware, but he doesn't seem to mind the wait as much as us fans,
funny thing is, that when he does put together a great team, he time will be up with Liverpool, and he will move on .

19.) 30 Jan 2018 06:59:03
Just a thought but as people pointed out to Sterling at the time, he did play in Europe and was pretty average while doing it. The club has sold the odd player here or there but other than Saurez they weren't necessarily the best player in the side at the point they left. Was Coutinho better than the other 3 currently still at the club? Sterling wasn't that special, Coutinho was clearly better, RS was just a self serving tool of a self serving agent not a star. Torres went down hill rapidly. Where is this massive player drain and where has the club plummeted from it? As people pointed out 2 trophied in 12 years not seen much change in league places. Nothing has really changed with or without them.
