That result was as if not more important than the arsenal one, we'd have fluffed that two years ago. Still a long way to go but we have a lot to be happy about at the minute boys. Question for the lads (and eds if you get a chance), what position do you think we need to strengthen most and who would you want based on our current spending? I'm still unconvinced with mignolet but understand pepe was on a fortune as far as keepers are involved, so box to box midfielder for me. Flanno and jonno have performed okay when needed, Enrique does a job when fit and is strong so for me left back is okay.

Completely agree with Macca, would be a big mistake letting pepe go. Think the defence will be unsettled with the changes at centre back without changes at gk. Understand he has had a few wobbles in recent seasons but still remains one of the best keepers in the league and his distribution and sweeping is one thing that is key to our style of play. If Reina moves on due to the call of old club Barcelona then we should thank him and wish him well, however if the move is being instigated from our side, i'd question the decision and be interested to know who they are planning to replace him with.
Eds, are there any keepers on the continent you believe we could bring in for the same sort of price (10m quoted)? Begovic, mignolet, mccarthy have been mentioned here, my pick in the perm would be vorm if it came to it but not too well up on the availability of quality in Europe
Cheers {Ed001's Note - there are thousands of keepers out there, many much cheaper. I take it you mean of similar or better quality though, rather than just available for £10m? In which case, I am sure there are, it is just up to the scouts to find the right one for our club.}

I'd imagine Milik would be a great signing but I can't see anything happening with both origi and ings in the squad as young forwards.

I'd prefer for someone to take it without it being a burden and have the confidence to prove they deserve it, rather than ducking it like ings did. Pretty sure origi would take it but I'd rather leave it open for Messi.

I'm getting a bit sick of reading some of the things on this site. We are not doing ourselves proud lads/ lasses.
If the media spent some time to read this site, I think our label of "greatest fans" may be rethought. We are lucky that this is based on the famous Anfield atmosphere and not some of the whinging and backstabbing that appears from a minority of keyboard warriors about current and former players and infighting with ourselves.
Let's stick together, support the club and look forward to a new season ahead.
This site is amazing for its insights and gauging others points of view, be it supportive or with constructive criticism. We will all have different opinions, it would be a very boring world if so, but let's do it in a respectful manner.
Sorry for the rant (I've turned into one of those warriors) .

Klopp has always played a higher number of preseason games to work on fitness/ training for the start of the season, hence the number of local friendlies we've added in before the tour.

Without seeing that much of him, I couldn't say how good the lad is, but due to age and it being a possibility he takes a while to settle, can't see him starting and ousting Hendo or can for league games. Might get a run out in the league cup, however with no Europe game time will be limited for him and the others.
Stewart probably gets the nod from me from the others, and ojo also getting some cup games if a new winger isn't brought in.
