Hey ed01 if possible (banter please)

I have a question on social cohesion in sports and in particular Liverpool. I follow a lot of social media from Liverpool fc and obviously you see players in the cliques, and obviously the south American/ Spanish clique (moreno, firmino, coutinho and Lucas) are quite close.

We are subject to sell moreno and potentially Lucas pending playing time guarantees and his decisions, if those two go what kind of impact does that have on arguably our two best players? Is there anything the club does? Do you think if we sold these two players could it result in an unsettling for these players.

Cheers for your input and all the work, love hearing your insights.

Sydney Red.

{Ed001's Note - players are used to other players coming and going, so it should not have too much effect. It can sometimes unsettle players, but that is very rare. Lucas is very well liked but it has been known a while that he is probably going sooner rather than later.}

Cheers Ed, have a good day.

Hi ed01/ 02

I was wondering on the set up of youth squads in the alignment of the first team. Managers change frequently and perhaps none more so than Liverpool fc and with a new manager comes a new structure and style of play. I was wondering if with each manager changes do they administer similar changes in training and playing style in u23's and through to u18's to be able to better equip them with the tools and be able to understand what is expected of them when they step up in the first team? If so is there any club that focuses on this or in the u23's is it more of learning a vast range of styles to play?

Cheers for all the work you do.

{Ed001's Note - most clubs do that mate. Usually a manager is picked who plays a similar style to the one employed in the youth teams. Hence the DOF, who is meant to oversee that and ensure continuity.}

Hi eds/ reds,

I'm just wondering what is the best way to get tickets to a LFC home game? I'm coming over from Australia in January and hoping to watch 2 or 3 games and wondering of there is a website or scalping or any other method that is good to get tickets. Any help is appreciated!

SydneyRed

1.) 29 Jul 2016 02:21:52
Your best shot would be this facebook page "Liverpool FC Supporters Club, NSW, Australia" (official LFC supporters club in NSW)

they usually have tickets but not sure exactly how it works.

hope that helps.

2.) 29 Jul 2016 03:33:37
Be a bit pricey but the hospitality tickets are always almost available. Probably touts outside the ground but there be just as expensive I would of thought.

3.) 29 Jul 2016 04:15:27
I would contact the club themselves and just explain the situation. . I'm sure that they could sort it out for you.

Thanks for the replies guys,

I had the hospitality package a few years ago but did not rate it too highly, seats were average and the spread wasnt great (although it was awesome just to go to a game) . Would you recommend websites like viagogo?

G'day ed01 hope all is well on your side of the world.

Wondering of your opinion on Danny Ings? Do you think he is a good enough player? What qualities does he lack and also have in abundance? Do you think he will make it big at LFC? (don't worry not getting carried away lay one goal against tranmere)

Always value your opinions and love reading your player analyses

Cheersl.

{Ed001's Note - I have to admit I have grown to like him. I still worry about his injuries, that was one of the big issues before we signed him, but on the pitch he is excellent. He scores goals, he works hard, he is quick, strong, decent in the air, has good movement, presses well. He is almost the perfect striker for Klopp's style of play, if he can stay fit and keeps his bottle. The fitness has to be a major worry though.

The main issue with him, other than fitness, is that we have two strikers that, fully fit and in form, are better than him, in Sturridge and Origi. So it is going to be difficult for him to get game time.}

1.) 13 Jul 2016 05:50:57
I like him for bull dogged spirit. I will favoir him over sturridge and origi for tenacity and physical ability in scrappy games against likes of west ham, palace, west brom etc.

2.) 13 Jul 2016 06:01:21
Ings' touch is on par with the likes of Sturridge in my opinion, needs a bit of composure at times and sometimes doesn't get his head up but then against he's a striker.

3.) 13 Jul 2016 07:34:03
I will take over Sturridge and Origi. And if we are going for two strikers, I will go for Ings and Origi. Their movement upfront would cause all sorts of problems. Sturridge imo is not much of a team player or should I say has a selfish streak about him (among others Couthino's goal claim comes to mind or even his facial expression when Suarez scores instead of him)

4.) 13 Jul 2016 08:48:22
Thats what is worrying me ed1. His fitness, if he stays fit he has the potential to be our vardy this season. I think he will shine under Klopp.

Origi was looking class towards the end of the season. He's young, still has a lot to learn. Looking real forward to seeing more of this kid.

5.) 13 Jul 2016 11:50:25
Cheers for the reply Ed, appreciate all the work.

{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome.}

6.) 13 Jul 2016 13:02:59
He would first and foremost work on his fitness and would need to be patient enough for his chances. It wouldn't a walk in the park to displace Sturridge and Origi.

7.) 13 Jul 2016 14:22:50
I`ve grown to like him as well, Ed. He is everything you want in a striker in terms of skill set, attitude and self belief.

Hey eds, just wanted to say thanks for all your work, funny how the transfer windows hasn't even opened yet eh? Haha.

More for Ed 01, was wondering your take on the current crop of LFC youngsters and their attitude and who have the right mentality to make it? I know this is subjective but you say players (such as mane as an example) have terrible mentality although ability, are there players like that? Are Ibe, Ojo, Stewart, Chirrivella and co players that have not only ability but mentality?

Vague question I know but was just curious on any insight you had, cheers.

SydneyRed

{Ed001's Note - well Ibe spent last summer, while everyone else was away on holiday, training with Dalglish, so clearly he has a good attitude. Stewart has shown an excellent attitude, hence why he was brought in, and continues to work hard to make an impression. Chirivella was given a chance because he had a good attitude.}

It would be just to allow them to play the high tempo football that the coach likes. It would be far more damaging to play the style of football desired without a fantastic band of fitness, that would result in more and worse types of injuries. Training is sometimes designed to be harder than games itself (not always the case) but enables the player to be well equipped for the game.

Keita = £40m
Coutinho = £80m

But the world is mad so who knows. Just my opinion.
