Hi Eds,

With the recent links to Niklas Sule (probably just lazy journalism) but I've read a bit about him today and, on paper, he seems a really top prospect.

Do you know if Liverpool have genuine interest in him or have heard he sees his future elsewhere?

Thanks as always.

Suffolk Red

{Ed002's Note - Hoffenheim's Niklas Sule has attacted interest from Arsenal for 18 months but they have failed to put an offer on the table. It may be an option, but I fear not right now.}

1.) 13 Nov 2015 13:36:06
Thanks Ed.

Hi Ed2, quick question for when you have a spare moment please.

Where do medicals fit into the transfer process? Can they only be done at a certain point in the process and are they the final stage before the FA complete the paperwork?

Thank you

Bryan

Suffolk Red

{Ed002's Note - Typically right at the end.}

Morning Eds,

The Mirror are reporting this morning that Spurs are looking to hijack the Origi deal. Most other media sources are stating we're in advanced talks and BR will talk to the player this week. I've looked through the search function and cannot find the answer to the following question.

Do you have any info on whether we have agreed a fee with Lille and been given the green light to discuss terms with the player?

Thank you

Suffolk Red

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you mean by "advanced talks" but Liverpool has made it clear they would like to buy the player. His club do not want to sell but would consider a deal that includes him being loaned back for a year.}

08 Jul 2014 15:05:00
Hi Eds, I was wondering if you've heard any updates about Dele Ali? Do you think we stand a reasonable chance and if so, would you see him being loaned back for a season or incorporated into our first team?

Cheers

Suffolk Red

{Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware there is no updates to give.}

06 Jul 2014 20:25:16
Ed002, I understand that you do not like discussing these points but can I just ask this one question on Markovic please? Do Chelsea have a first option on him or is it that an affiliated company of theirs owns part of his ownership?

Thank you in advance

Suffolk Red

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea could take they player this summer if Liverpool make an acceptable bid and should they decide to do so.}

Great entertaining game yesterday and wanted to tip my hat to Messi for stopping to sign autographs. Always a nice thing to do and great to see quality players taking the time for young kids and fans.

Who's Messi? SUPERMANE.

2.) 07 Aug 2016 12:35:09
I enjoyed it, lot of neutrals in the crowd (including myself) Sat with a couple Palace fans and chatted to some qpr fans and a good few Leeds fans down for the rangers game. All with the same reason for attending. To see Messi. Even though Barcelona were very well bellow par. It was still entertaining.

Hi Eds,

I hope you're all well. I was trying to locate the 'Macca Rumours' part of this site but couldn't find it. Can you help please.

I just wanted to read his more recent posts but could only find conversations where people are talking about him.

Cheers

Bryan.

Hi Ed2, I have a question that's England and FA related but I didn't know where to post it so my apologies for putting it here.

Do you have any information on how the FA Board are voted in? I know football is all about opinions and I'm sure Big Sam is a nice guy, but it seems to me that the people making the decisions for England Manager are constantly repeating the same mistakes and going for apparent age and experience without any intention or perhaps capability to plan for our future differently.

Is it a bit of an 'old boys club' and they always decide no matter who they consult with?

Thanks as always

Bryan.

Suffolk Red

{Ed002's Note - They are appointed by the FA Council Bryan that has members from throughout the game. Any decisions in respect of England manager are always taken with advice - generally including the advice of old boys. For many years the likes of Bobby Robson were asked for their opion.}

1.) 13 Jul 2016 17:07:01
Ed2, in your opinion what are the chances of a bloody good shake up at the FA and doing things different?

{Ed002's Note - Because you don't like their choice of England manager? Changes will come when the breakaway happens.}

2.) 13 Jul 2016 17:12:02
Thanks Ed, always appreciated. It would be nice to see someone young, modern (in footballing terms) with a real belief in the system or style they play in. Personally, I don't get too hung up on the need for English. the top club sides don't adhere to it when building a style and brand of playing so it would be nice to see something break the mound for once.

Einstein's definition of madness (paraphrased) - keep doing the same things and expecting different results.

All the best to you and yours.

3.) 13 Jul 2016 17:19:29
not really, just would like a little more success at tournaments or perhaps we are just not good enough. if so, surely more needs to be done regards youth.

4.) 13 Jul 2016 17:20:14
The possibility of a breakaway is only there because of the dinosaurs running the game. When it happens they'll only have themselves to blame.

{Ed002's Note - No, that is not true at all.}

5.) 13 Jul 2016 17:35:52
Do you think that a breakaway will kill off international football as we know it and will that effect FIFA ed002?

{Ed002's Note - International games won't be impacted. Putting aside the half-assed ideas UEFA will put forward next month, when the full proposal for a breakaway goes ahead, there is every likelihood that the big money from television, sponsorship etc. would go with a breakaway league. It would completely rupture the operations of UEFA and I would expect it would require national associations like the FA to restructure their leagues. Nobody wants this but it is the eventual consequence I would expect. Initially it could be that there is a single 16 team league with 2 or 3 EPL teams making the initial plunge. If I had to speculate, I would think (1) you might eventually (although not initially) see something like five or six EPL teams leave for two-tier pan European league - but it won't be based on the UEFA rankings; (2) the Premier League would be disbanded as an organisation; (3) the FA would restructure in to two 20 team divisions with lower leagues regionalised as they were many years ago; (4) FIFA would ban all players from the breakaway teams from International football - perhaps rescinding that position to stop FIFA breaking up as well - they don't want further issues but the troubles are not going to go away. I could also see many teams lose their professional status. I would think we are probably 10 years away from any significant move at this time.

6.) 13 Jul 2016 17:36:16
Ps thank you for your swift reply sir!

7.) 13 Jul 2016 17:49:42
Really interesting to hear, has this been driven by clubs being annoyed with the way that the likes of UEFA and FIFA run the game or is it more fundamentally about money?

8.) 13 Jul 2016 17:49:42
Really interesting to hear, has this been driven by clubs being annoyed with the way that the likes of UEFA and FIFA run the game or is it more fundamentally about money?

{Ed002's Note - This been done to death rather but it is about a number of "elite" clubs deciding it is time to move on - but it will take time.}

9.) 13 Jul 2016 17:56:02
Appreciate your info Ed002's but really hope this does not happen.

10.) 13 Jul 2016 19:10:30
Would you class Lfc as an "elite" club?

{Ed002's Note - None of this involves Liverpool.}

11.) 13 Jul 2016 19:39:43
Hi Ed002,

Back on England for a second, would love to hear your opinion on who you think would be the best manager for England?

We've seen the article on here advocating Roy Evans or Glenn Hoddle, but what is your view, if you don't mind me asking?

Cheers in advance.

{Ed002's Note - Not English - German Roger Schmidt, Eusebio Di Francesco or Julen Lopetegui. English - Paul Clement or Glenn Hoddle. Not English but kows the game - Laurent Blanc.}

I don't understand these posts about Branagan. He played really well in the cup games and people need to consider how difficult it is when making your first step up to play in the first team.

He is clearly a talented young player and seems a level headed and grounded guy too. Just signed a new contract without demanding the world!

Is it really a case of. if we look at any youngsters across the globe we wax lyrical without even knowing or seeing them. but if a big team takes an interest in one of our young players, well they surely can't be good enough.

Really? Come on guys.

Suffolk Red

1.) 10 Jun 2016 22:14:19
I don't think it's just the youngsters to be fair. Fans constantly look at players and see them do a few good things once in a blue moon and suddenly they are far better that what we have. Branagan is a great young talent. I can't see him going to Spain though. Surely with Klopps reputation all is lining up perfectly for him to step up and take his chance here. It's up to him now, if he is good enough and wants to reach the top. Klopp and Liverpool will be more than willing to give hime that chance.

2.) 11 Jun 2016 00:29:31
The lads got a good future that's for sure, I think the upcoming season will do a lot for him, we'll see more of him. We all know Klopp likes giving youngsters their chance, he will be one worth giving a chance. I reckon its quite exciting, not just for him but for Liverpool.

3.) 11 Jun 2016 01:23:23
youngster? he is 24.

4.) 11 Jun 2016 02:50:09
who is 24? Brannagan has not long turned 20.

5.) 11 Jun 2016 03:55:53
Branagan would be a regular starter next season with emre can and co. I cannot see hendo doing it for long, his injury is a critical one which will keep coming back, he will never be his pre injury self. I think branagan is going to be very well be first choice by second half of the coming season. The lad is two footed and decent on dead balls. He has a good touch, can run with the ball and decent shot. A lot of youth has been cleared, clearly he being kept means plans are there for him.

23 Mar 2016 07:25:00
At last we're being linked with Niklas Sule. Just need to keep fingers crossed that there's some truth in this one. Good player.

Suffolk Red

1.) 23 Mar 2016 09:48:45
some people on here saying we don't need him as we will have skrtel lovren matip sakho but i'm telling you now skrtel time is done for me and i thought this way before the weekend, the weekend just proved my point. finally looked quite solid at the back soon as he comes back penalty and if it wasnt for the save three goals conceded. bring in sule and you have a 4 decent centre backs and a two centre back for the future of LFC if they hit the ground running in sule and matip.

2.) 23 Mar 2016 09:54:52
We Don`t need him will just be a waste of money.

we Have Sakho, Lovren, Matip, Gomez that's more than enough cover there with more of the youth coming in for the odd game here or there spend the money on areas that actually need improving LB, GK.

{Ed023's Note - With Sakho and Lovren having a history of injuries and Gomez not being ready for CB yet I do think he is needed or a CB.}

3.) 23 Mar 2016 11:18:59
Someone is needed because Lovren is not good enough.

4.) 23 Mar 2016 11:38:52
I dunno ron from southamton form and last few games he is a good defender but him and sakho have no defensive support with clyne and moreno.

5.) 23 Mar 2016 11:43:33
This past 6 months have been vital for our Manager, he has recalled players and had a look at them in training. I think he will know by now who he wants for the next journey. I can honestly see us moving on 4 of the centre backs that's here in Caulker and Toure being 2, so Matip and Sule? are needed considering the Injuries that Ed refers too. I do feel that the squad will be cut again with more of the Academy lads being drafted in.

6.) 23 Mar 2016 11:45:09
Thats harsh about lovren! he has improved under klopp and been unlucky with some injuries this season. matip and sakho will probably be the centre backs for next season. sule is a brilliant prospect and with kolo looking likely to leave and skrtel being reported to be being sold then matip sakho sule lovren looks good on paper. gomez is still young and on the mend of a serious injury so will need easing back, he played some of his best games for us at left back and we need a left back cover so keep him as a left back and centre back cover.

7.) 23 Mar 2016 12:39:19
Sule looks too slow for the Premier league IMO.
Lovren may have improved but it's where he was improving from that is the problem.
He's not good enough to be in a title winning side, therefore we need to be looking to upgrade.

8.) 23 Mar 2016 14:08:50
have to laugh really. Sule's name NEVER came up until Ed2 recommended him and that's a fact. people need to stope being sheep and have their own opinion. before you disagree why not try searching on sule and see how often he came up before Ed2 first recommended him.

9.) 23 Mar 2016 15:28:17
Don't really understand what your point is 87red, surely the point of this site is to be informed of players we are interested in by the eds then if we've never heard of them to check them out and form an opinion? How can you have an opinion if you've never seen or heard of a player. I'm married with a job and three kids so I don't play Fifa and I don't have the time to google random players so I can give an opinion before someone else just so I can brag about the fact that I commented on them first!

10.) 23 Mar 2016 16:21:03
Lovren did well at saints due too Wanyama and Schneiderlin in front of him offering superb protection. A top cb next too him talking aswell and a better gk than what we have.

11.) 23 Mar 2016 17:11:06
Dossert

Fair Point. But are you indirectly trying to say Can-Henderson are not good enough? I don't rate Wanyama much but yes Schnider is on another level. Lovren has struggled and the improvements people claim could be measured by Centimeters. Struggles big time against pacy Wide / Strikers.

12.) 23 Mar 2016 17:26:17
You think Sule might be too slow Ron? I don't think Matip is quick by any stretch.

13.) 23 Mar 2016 17:44:12
Got Sule for my FIFA team. Played 2 seasons, then he wants a transfer 2 days before deadline. Stay away from this one Mr Ayre and Mr Klipperty, he's trouble!

14.) 23 Mar 2016 19:41:18
Yes Irish, but Matip is signed on a Bosman. It's pretty pointless debating whether he'll be a good transfer target or not. If Matip is too slow that doesn't make Süle any quicker does it?

How about everyone shows a little more class on this site eh.

That argument doesn't stack up at all! For one, the new stand will increase revenue so your argument on ticket prices will be of little concern to perspective buyers I'm sure. Secondly, do you really think that is the only source of revenue within the club and the only decision point for spending £500M plus? Hmmm.

I thank him for the job he's done. He always strikes me as someone who works hard and has tried his best for the club and it's hard to ask more of someone.

That said, with no disrespect meant to Ian Ayre, it's a good opportunity to search the market for a really high callibre candidate who can continue to lead our club forward towards success.
