Message to eds and macca:
Thanks for all the hard work and patience lads.
Macca; in your last post you apologised. Nothing to apologise for. Thank you.

You've all been fantastic.

He has nothing to apologise for, he got Keita right. The club go van Dijk wrong.

All the targets where spot on, we just messed around once again and had no real alternatives. I don't know how to feel about that window, I think in terms of defensive reinforcements it's a failure but offensively it was pretty decent especially since we kept couts. So for me it's as you where basically. We'll continue to be a force going forward but a shambles at the back at times.

Macca pls, do not ever apologize for anything you say/ said or not say/ said on this forum again. EVER!

Would anyone happen to know the total amount we spent; and the total amount we brought in this window?

Did anyone notice the hoffenheim centre back the ither night (their captain) . He played very well against us. Big, strong and crucially- he was quick! He must have leadership qualities if he's their captain.
Keep an eye on him during the return leg.
VVD alternative?

Did you notice he kept giving the ball away?

{Ed001's Note - and that he was slower than an asthmatic snail at the end of a 15 hour shift.}

2.) 17 Aug 2017 14:27:56
I don't have MOTD fever like OP and don't think he's that great at all but he caught up with Salah pretty effortlessly who had a huge head start on him, can't discredit that Ed.

{Ed001's Note - no he did not, watch it again, Salah took a bad touch and never sprinted as it makes it difficult to control a shot if you take it on the sprint. I can discredit it because it simply is not true.}

3.) 17 Aug 2017 14:30:55
Caught Salah didn't he on the 1-1?

Just teasing you Ed.

{Ed001's Note - don't you start!}

The real standout player in the match was Demirbay, he absolutely dominated our midfield, pulled the strings for Hoffenheim, put in some fantastic dead ball deliveries and in general looked a cut above our CMs. If we are willing to put £60m up for Keita then I'd be delighted to see us put in £50m for Demirbay.

Do any of the Eds know if there's any interest in him?

5.) 17 Aug 2017 15:03:23
MOTD fever there Scarface.

6.) 17 Aug 2017 16:33:11
My MOTD fever is over Nice's Saint -Maximim or whatever his name was. For 20 he looked strong, direct and able to beat a man.

Fair enough comment lad, though that penalty save against Hoffenheim- coming as it did at such a crucial time in the tie, could well have saved us in the champions league. Mig made my eeek savibg that.
So that, allied with the fact that klopp plays so open and, given we know Mig can improve; for me, mig has earned that we persevere with him.
It may well be a stay of execution as you say, but i'd stick with him for now; a wee bit of loyalty.
We demand it of our players. It's nice to see it reciprocated from us fans when they're struggling.
That's my view in it anyways.
