This is probably a load of crap but hearing the Lyon share prices have dropped fueling speculation that a deal to us is still on but after the world Cup.

Steve Rs

1.) 11 Jun 2018 22:17:28
Share price would have dropped because there was no deal, therefore less profit for the year. saying that I wouldn't read anything into price volatility. volatility is just a representation of trader emotions.

2.) 11 Jun 2018 22:49:28
What about gelson Martins from sporting Lisbon as an alternative too fekir he is so good front 3 mane Salah martins with firmino just behind or alternate would be scary and rapid fire, also the idea of draxler as an alternative would be nice if he has the hunger an desire too get better with us. On fekir there president has not said there player has expressed too stay another season just that he was staying, I think if fekir pushes it things might change as he had shirt on was going to do interviews an the medical he was invested in signing for us, his head was with us so interesting too see how it plays out.

3.) 11 Jun 2018 23:34:50
It dropped in a similar manner around the time of the Lacazette transfer saga and that still went ahead even after Aulas publicly denied it. Maybe I'm just getting my hopes up as I'm desperate to see Fekir in a Liverpool shirt!

I know I'm not the only one hoping we go back in for him after the WC. My only concern though is that Aulas initially wanted to push negotiations back until the WC was done on the off chance Fekir had a good tournament in which case they could demand more for him. If that does happen I wonder whether LFC will pay an increased price considering the whole debacle at the moment. Would they be seen to pay more for a player they initially called a halt to due to his injury history or would they want to save face and cut their nose off to spite their face?

4.) 11 Jun 2018 23:41:54
A4 has it spot on for me 👌.

5.) 11 Jun 2018 23:51:03
1- Gelson Martin will only come as a replacement of Salah.
2- We are looking for a Coutinho replacement.

6.) 12 Jun 2018 05:22:32
Is this what it has come to in regards to the Fekir transfer saga? Watching the share price on the stock market rise and fall? It gets more embarrassing by the day.

7.) 12 Jun 2018 10:07:24
Lol agreed Brisbane mate, it's crazy!

8.) 12 Jun 2018 10:27:21
Crazy indeed mate.

9.) 12 Jun 2018 20:47:00
There was talk that Lyon wanted to delay the Fekir transfer till the 30th June so it will go on the figures for 2018/ 19. They have already made good profit for 2017/ 18 trough the sales of Lacazette and Tolisso. Probably more rubbish.

31 May 2018 21:37:14
Hearing we've had a bid accepted foe dembele from Barcelona. Hope this is so as he's a great player, Just hope we get a goalie.

Steve Rs

1.) 31 May 2018 21:49:00
No chance we will buy him to expensive.

2.) 31 May 2018 21:49:06
There are a few media sources now reporting this. Let's hope it us true. YNWA.

3.) 31 May 2018 21:51:26
Surely if we end up with

It would be the best window I can remember. I can’t think of one which could top it.

4.) 31 May 2018 22:02:01
Its from don balon who are very hit and miss on there stories so wouldn't hold your breath on that one.

5.) 31 May 2018 22:06:36
God I really hope this is wrong, the attitude he showed last year regarding his move to Barcelona has put me off the guy completely. No room for that in Liverpool.

6.) 31 May 2018 22:45:20
They are saying Barcelona will be wanting most of the fee they paid for him back. Crazy money after the season he has just had!

7.) 31 May 2018 22:50:26
Is Dembele any good in goal?

8.) 31 May 2018 23:52:27
In a world where Arnautovics' are going for 50m, paying 70-80m for a player who has the potential to be one of the best players in the world is a sound investment.

9.) 01 Jun 2018 00:04:29
id rather harry Wilson have a chance to cover that right hand side. if we are getting an extra attacking player (assuming we get fekir too) then id rather get a good centre forward to hopefully dovetail with Firmino. Then sell Ings and loan out Solanke.

10.) 01 Jun 2018 00:50:52
I'd hope this is false as I'd only see him coming in if salah is going out. and I wouldn't want Messi to swap places with salah never mind dembele.

11.) 01 Jun 2018 00:55:44
Well if we’re getting one of Fekir or dembele then fair enough but both would definitely suggest Salah is on his way. I hope not but I wouldn’t be surprised, this feels like the same type of scenerio after the 13-14 season, just the buys are way better lol.

12.) 01 Jun 2018 02:16:50
Jonesred, if we get all of those, completely agree, it will have been an insane window. We’d have to be right up there with city as favourites with a squad like that.

13.) 01 Jun 2018 06:32:45
Im still holding out for Pulisic. Would tick all the boxes, plus some.

14.) 01 Jun 2018 06:35:22
We know for a fact Klopp likes him and it does seem like Barcelona want to get rid so I don’t see why not, there is an obvious stumbling block with the price as I think Barcelona paid well over the odds for him in desperation last summer and they will want to recoup the majority if not all I’m guessing.

15.) 01 Jun 2018 07:20:36
The fee would be the am0unt less the balance Barcelona owes us for Coutinho.

16.) 01 Jun 2018 07:30:43
smedegaard, me too mate.

17.) 01 Jun 2018 08:16:47
There is zero chance of us selling Salah one season into his contract, especially after the season he has just had!

We are building this summer, the only players to leave will be the ones klopp wants to let go.

So just sit back and enjoy the transfer window.

I personally think we need a wide player like dembele to add depth to the squad and an attacking mid like fekir. Here’s to hoping we sign both!

18.) 01 Jun 2018 09:14:53
Can’t understand the thinking of Salah will go. Surely some fans are stuck in this rut of we are selling club. Kloop is building depth and quality so that we compete for titles
The owners have the same view
It’s time some fans get out of this small club mentality and start believing in what Kloop is trying to do - be the club of first choice not a stepping stone!

19.) 01 Jun 2018 09:06:47
A) Barcelona have to pay us money let's just get that and not any substandard players that they don't and more importantly wont.
Dembele is good but weak in physical strength
Everyone knows they are in for Griezmann and will sell dembele and suarez to make it happen. they need a lot of selling to do for FFP.

B) dembele doesn't want to stay in Barcelona because of playtime he isn't getting, that won't be any different at LFC. don't see him starting before salah or mane.

C) He is too tantrum savvy. threw a major one at dortmund . now at barca. why do we want that?

20.) 01 Jun 2018 13:57:05
We should offer them £30 million plus £100 mill in add-ons should Liverpool win the World Cup.

21.) 01 Jun 2018 14:04:53
That list is top notch except for Dembele, had a poor season at Barcelona but mainly due to injury. So that's expected but honestly I'm just too 50/ 50 about him. Yes he has potential but I'm not sure about his attitude to really hack it at the top level plus when I have seen him play, I haven't seen anything special. Honestly think if we are indeed looking to spend that kind of money, it could be used on someone else, I'm not sure who off the top of my head.

25 Jul 2017 22:59:18
There's a few stories circulating that coutinho has agreed terms with Barcelona. Suppose is was going to happen sooner or later, it's pissed me off as he's quality got to be worth 100 mil. Any ideas on a replacement guys?

Steve Rs

1.) 25 Jul 2017 23:05:04
Just read the same reports! Absolute joke! We'll miss out on NK, VVD and Can is on the way out to!

2.) 25 Jul 2017 23:08:57
Wouldn't believe it, it's just rumours.

3.) 25 Jul 2017 23:07:17
Source is a Spanish radio station.

4.) 25 Jul 2017 23:08:44
Genuinely curious. how is Phil able to "agree terms" with Barcelona but not LFC? Supposedly Neymar, Suarez, and Messi spoke well about Phil to the brass at Barca.

Are those not examples of "tapping up" as well?

{Ed002's Note - It would be if the players or the club were approaching him.}

5.) 25 Jul 2017 23:22:02
Starting to wander what the age is of some of the posters on here
Hadn't most of the same sources for the last few weeks been saying Keita and vvd signed for us/ agreed personal terms etc?
If coutinho wants to leave then let him leave, yes he is ONE of our best players, but if he wants out why keep him? As long as we get good money for him.
We have players who should be able to step up and I'm sure there are plans in place for his replacement. As one of the eds said a few times his agent and himself have already spoke of his desire to play for Barca. I believe max Meyer was a replacement mentioned before.
For now it's newspaper clickbait.
Until it's announced its rubbish.
If he goes good luck thanks for some awesome entertainment and onto the next player. Players come and go, Liverpool will always be here.

6.) 25 Jul 2017 23:22:47
Uggers chill out man it's probably nonsense. Some people jump on anything just to say how crap we are when they don't even know the full story. Another scenario to your doomsday prediction would be that we sign VVD and Keita, then Couts stays and Can signs a new deal. Just as likely as your ill informed rant.

7.) 25 Jul 2017 23:53:37
Thanks, Ed002. I phrased the second part of that post poorly. More accurately, I meant that supposedly Neymar, Messi, Suarez had spoken to Coutinho (and also with Barca) about the benefits of a potential transfer.

My friend works as a scout for a London club and he mentioned something called "soft tapping up" -- is that a common term and is it accurate in this apparent instance where players work as agents for the clubs?

I tried searching the phrase but didn't turn up much.

Thanks again,

{Ed002's Note - Well the rules are explicit and talks of "third parties" which includes the players and your friend is correct and the term he uses is a good one. What we know is that Coutinho and his agent made the approach via players and the club - and that is of course wrong - and very similar to the Ashley Cole/Chelsea situation. I have mentioned before how poor Liverpool are in dealing with the transfers - but no one ever asks about others, and it would include both Spanish leading sides and Manchester City. AS for his "soft" term, he is correct - and clubs have to live with players talking with each other and asking about clubs/cities - and that is likely not something anyone could control. Players are briefed at the start of the season about plenty of stuff, from how to behave, what not to do, to changes in rules. It always cover such matters - but that issue persists - across the board. Great comment, thanks.}

8.) 26 Jul 2017 00:03:02
Why are you shocked?

This has been brewing for the last couple of seasons!

Now, let's take a big hefty sum, ask them to throw in a couple of players and invest it wisely in quality.

Its not all bad.

If true, i wish him good luck.

9.) 26 Jul 2017 01:19:15
If Coutinho is so desperate to go, then tell Barcelona to offer 100 million pounds and get it over with. Hopefully Can signs a new contract and we sign Keita. Would like to see Chirivella get a chance as he is the closest we got to a Coutinho clone out of the numerous youngsters waiting for their chance.

10.) 26 Jul 2017 03:28:39
Really good post lifelong red. I totally agree. Ever thought about writing professionally?

11.) 26 Jul 2017 08:00:50
Coutinho looked gone in the pre-season games so far.

12.) 26 Jul 2017 08:24:23
Faithinworks, stop talking nonsense mate. It's preseason not the bloody World Cup.

13.) 26 Jul 2017 08:38:03
but haven't we said he's 100% not for sale. Surely it would take a monumental bid and £80mil isn't that these days.

14.) 26 Jul 2017 08:48:52
Indian Buzzer. in what world is Chrivella a clone of couts are you insane? they play nothing like each other Couts is attacking Mid, young Pedro is more like Alonso in his play style he sits deep to dictate play the closest we have to Couts in the youth systems is Woodburn who looks to be taking on the part of Couts understudy, and if you go further into academy the closest there is Dhanda.

15.) 26 Jul 2017 07:57:23
Hi Eds,

I'm slightly confused, when we have been caught up in a "tapping up" storm you are (quite rightly) massively disparaging of our actions and the way we go about doing things. When it is Barcalona (in this instance) your response is. "business"

It seems the regulations are suitably vague that teams can pretty much do as they please. I think our transfer approach and management has been deeply embarrassing over the last few years but it appears to be no different to the other teams out there. The Agents hold way too much of the responsibility, in any other industry it'd be classed as a conflict of interest with such huge sums involved. Surely better regulation has to be considered or put in place.

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you are reading, but Barcelona has not been doing what Liverpool did and I would certainly not have given a one word answer like that. The rules are pretty clear and it is really nothing to do with other industries.}

16.) 26 Jul 2017 09:56:25
Indian Buzzer,

You cannot seriously be suggesting we replace Coutinho with Chirivella?

I'm all for giving a youth a chance throughout the season but you have got to be kidding me.

Resolve our best player with a boy who has only played a bit of a championship footy and will likely go out on loan again this season?

Give me strength!

17.) 26 Jul 2017 10:14:36
Chirivella a clone of Couts, Indian? Lay off the Koolaid, bro cos you are seeing things. I don't believe the reports being conveyed via the Barcelona mouthpieces in the Spanish media. They and RM do this all the time. If we don't want to sell, we should not sell esp. if Couts has not asked to leave. N BTW, regardless of offer, Keita is not going anywhere and we should use the same tactics used on us by RBL in this situation.

18.) 26 Jul 2017 12:28:51
Professional writers do need to be able to spell.

19.) 26 Jul 2017 13:34:34
Just saying. Don't need to freak out as if anything I say is going to tip him over to Barca. Altho it seems to me it's a matter of timing now. Take a chance to go now if he can, or maybe miss out if Barcelona move on and back to their #1 veratti?
Anyway, Suarez looked gone in Melbourne too. And by all accounts, if not for a Stevie G convo and the carrot of bigger fish than arsenal out there, he may have left that summer. I'm just giving my observation that from the game time I've seen he looks like Suarez did during that period. I imagine a big part of it too is Coutinho possibly battling the emotions of staying or going!?

20.) 27 Jul 2017 10:52:46
Coutinho is going nowhere. If sigurdsson is worth 50 million, or Barkley with 1 year on his contract is worth 40 million plus then Coutinho has got to demand a world record fee, and even then he should not be sold because there is no one out there to replace him that we can get! FSG OUT.

{Ed001's Note - FSG out because a player might want to leave? God this is moronic. Grow up.}

I don't believe any of the bull the press are coming out with.
Sit back enjoy the world Cup and let's see who we can get, I'm still hoping for a quality keeper were desperate for 👌👌.

Steve Rs

1.) 14 Jun 2018 19:29:37
That Saudi keeper looked decent.

2.) 14 Jun 2018 21:50:18
Lol kraemer, that dive to the left before the Russian even pulled his leg back.

4th goal was lush.

11 Jun 2018 15:18:44
Is the Fekir deal dead in the water?
Or is it possible we could still come back to the table, say after the world Cup? Thanks.

Steve Rs

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

09 Jun 2018 19:45:26
Fekir deal off WTF! Just told the pub landlord, were both gutted.

Steve Rs

1.) 09 Jun 2018 19:58:52
Was it Al Murray?!

2.) 09 Jun 2018 20:12:35
Stop pretending to be in the pub Steve.

08 Jun 2018 10:48:16
I'm puzzled I heard we had agreed a fee fekir with the medical today.
Now the Lyon have said its false information regarding a deal to us. I'm not sure what to believe as even the Lyon fans think it's s done deal. Let's hope so. 👍👍.

Steve Rs

1.) 08 Jun 2018 11:02:05
Exactly why I didn't get involved in the frenzy last night 😂

To be fair, Lyon did this last season a few hours before Arsenal officially announced Lacazette. So fingers crossed.

2.) 08 Jun 2018 11:18:59
It's due to the fact that Lyon are a publicly limited company. They don't want the transfer to affect the share price on the exchange due to these varying reports over Fekirs actual fee. The deal is still going ahead and he will have his medical today.

3.) 08 Jun 2018 11:20:19
MK Aulas is notoriously difficult to deal with so I think you’re right.

4.) 08 Jun 2018 11:33:17
Just Lyon trying to stop their stock price from falling too much.

15 Jan 2018 17:55:00
Heard Can told the guys in the dressing room that he had penned a new deal. Not sure if it's correct, just thought I'd pass it on.
I'd like to see him stay and progress 👍.

Steve Rs

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps he is teasing them.}

1.) 15 Jan 2018 18:09:32
Pleased if he has. Yesterday showed what he can do.

2.) 15 Jan 2018 18:12:07
Perhaps he's not!

I hope it happens as no point keeping a player who doesn't want to play for the club. We've already shown we can play and win without couts injuries aside. I think he'll be gone and hopefully get two or three players in before the window closes.
