Hello everyone,
Never been consistant enough of a user of this site to create a profile but think it's time so go easy Ed's n reds. From Liverpool and had a couple people tell me now to expect Ryan Kent back so Salah can play the Coutinho role till end of season and Kent will play out on the wing? Is this a realistic possibility?

{Ed001's Note - the only realistic possibility there is that he might well be coming back.}

1.) 03 Jan 2018 12:00:49
No chance mate - I expect Lallana will slot into Coutinhos attacking midfield role and Mane, Firmino and Salah continue upfront with Ox rotating in midfield or upfront to keep things fresh.

Kent is in no way ready and the fact he can’t get game time at Freiburg is indication of that.

2.) 03 Jan 2018 12:18:52
I agree with Ed001. Salah is banging in the goals at the minute so would be unrealistic to move him into couts role. I could see Bobby dropping into the number 10 role, it's his natural position and we bring in another for the front 3,with that being said Bobby is brilliant in his position so taking a risk moving him now. Id like to see couts stay till the summer, agree something with Barcelona now and get a replacement now if possible to give them time to bed in. We've got more to lose than Barcelona in the sense that there flying at the top of la liga, couts can't play CL for them so we need to protect ourselves.

3.) 03 Jan 2018 12:19:26
I do really like Kent and would like to see him given a shot.

4.) 03 Jan 2018 12:46:38
you mean Cout's midfield role? Or wide left-sided forward? No way Salah would suit the former. I can think of a few players that would, though.

5.) 03 Jan 2018 11:49:00
Thanks a lot for your time and reply Ed, all the best to you and the other Ed’s for 2018.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, hope the New Year is a happy, healthy, wealthy and wise one for you and all who visit the sites.}

6.) 03 Jan 2018 13:16:43
Thanks ed001. The same for you and your family. And really do appreciate everything you all do on this site!

{Ed001's Note - cheers Uggers, that makes it all worthwhile mate.}

7.) 03 Jan 2018 15:35:02
I’m not one for making up rumours myself to be honest people, just sharing some other peoples opinions what they have told me. I agree with Ed and uggers myself like. Thanks for the reply’s people and have a good one.

8.) 04 Jan 2018 15:34:04
Jurgen, Couts doesn’t suit his midfield role so why bother replacing it? He weakens the midfield and we just look unbalanced. Great player but needs to be in the front 3. We already have quality up there so we can live without Couts.

Good afternoon all, just like to say I think It's funny how so many of our fans use the term YNWA or rejoice in singing our famous song. But when it actually comes down to it, haven't actually got a clue about the concept of what they're saying. YNWA was like our prayer. Now it's just a hashtag for hipsters. #LFC.

1.) 29 Jan 2018 14:39:30
Wait, what?

2.) 29 Jan 2018 15:12:20
What?

3.) 29 Jan 2018 17:40:17
I have previously asked about it getting banned and got a lot of dislikes for that. For me it's lost its meaning and is too outdated.

4.) 29 Jan 2018 19:54:00
NRW, I wouldn’t worry about dislikes that much mate. We are all fans and all have our own opinion on things. Not everyone is going to agree with you mate.

23 Jan 2018 12:38:14
Afternoon Ed's n reds, is it just me or does anyone else think it's degrading to give first Coutinho (who wanted out) the captaincy then doing the same with Emre Can (who also wants out)? Not only that, although we played poor and Swansea seen out there game plan I also think it's embarrasing to throw VVD upfront as a target man as a plan B.

1.) 23 Jan 2018 12:43:22
It maybe is slightly embarrassing to throw a defender up top but I would have done it earlier. It was crying out for us to be more direct imo and we nearly caught them out a few times with balls over the top.
I didn’t think Swansea where as amazing at the back as people are saying, we just never really tested them at the back, we just played in front of there 2 defensive lines.

2.) 23 Jan 2018 12:45:44
Embarrassing doubtful but questionable definitely.

3.) 23 Jan 2018 13:01:05
I agree mate. I don't think the captains role is as crucial as people make out, but it is seen as an honour to lead your team out, and anybody who denies that is a liar. All young players talk about how much of a dream it is to captain their club. That's an honour Can didn't deserve.

4.) 23 Jan 2018 13:05:02
VVD does get on the end of pretty much everything aimed at him but I can see your point. The need for a skilful technician in midfield became all to apparent yesterday. Gini is just a wasted shirt in games like yesterday and the sub that klopp should have made was Lallana on for Gini not Ox.

5.) 23 Jan 2018 13:14:23
Not embarrasing to spend 75m on a player to sort your terrible defence out and then in his premier league debut try rely on the same (defender) to get you out of trouble at the other end of the park? So he’s that good he sorts the defence and attack out now? c'mon people it’s embarrasing and nothing short of.

6.) 23 Jan 2018 13:32:26
Why the armband is given to someone (Can) who is simply not good enough is baffling.

The lad is as mobile as a hgv and need dropping.

I would wish him the best of luck in his ventures, and only wish that we have a suitable replacement lined up, instead of fannying around with his agents.

7.) 23 Jan 2018 13:46:51
VVD wasn’t doing any defending in the last 30 mins so may as well chuck him up top. Karius could have played up top as well for the last 10.

8.) 23 Jan 2018 14:35:13
I know then klopp should of threw caution to the wind and subbed karius for Lallana and kept OX on for more fire power.

9.) 23 Jan 2018 14:39:38
Since VVD singles I’ve seen our fans asking for him to be on free kicks, think he’s going to sort all problems at the back out, calling for him to be captain and now people are happy with him being our plan b upfront in his premier league debut. Let’s just call him mr Liverpool hey? Sort it out reds.

10.) 23 Jan 2018 14:46:07
Whats so embarrassing about throw in a very good technically gifted player with good heading ability as a target man when you chasing a game with few minutes left. If you widen your horizon you will find Pique been doing it for Barcelona for many years, Ramos for Madrid etc . As for Can being captain, it was simple, out of the starting 11 last night Can was the longest serving (ie he been in the club the longest) . It was the same reason when Couts captained the team (so well I might add) .

11.) 23 Jan 2018 14:50:48
How can throwing you're biggest man up front for the last 5 minutes be embarrassing? Especially when he created our best goal scoring opportunity right at the end. Obviously it was the right thing to do. If Klopp didn't do it you would be asking why he never.

12.) 23 Jan 2018 14:58:31
Whats so embarrassing about playing a technically gifted, good header of the ball player as a target man in the last few minutes of a game you chasing . its normal, lots of clubs do it, Pique and Ramos being doing it for their clubs for years, Jaap Stam use to do it for united, stop being childish picking on little pointless things. As for Can being captain, again nothing wrong with it, of the starting 11 he was the longest serving at the club, it was the same when Couts captained the side before he left.

13.) 23 Jan 2018 15:27:43
It’s his prem debut with enough pressure already costing 75m, he is going to take the fall for every defensive mistake for the next few months by the press and more to the point HE SHOULD NOT BE OUR PLAN B, we have 10 other players on the pitch and can’t score against bottom of the league, did u know VVD and Matip created more than our midfield last night? We need to be able to think bigger when put in front of a 9-10 man defence it’s the same talking point every time we play teams that sit back. Citeh play very similar to us yet there’s no way they are getting beat by Swansea. You can’t sit there and blame the opposition every time they sit back and grind a result out just because our style is to play openly. Different horses for different courses and we need to be able to solve a long lasting problem in not being able to break teams down.

23 Jan 2018 00:52:36
Oh well reds, poor performance and Swansea seen a game plan out. It's the prem it happens. I know the unbeaten runs over but it was good while it lasted. On to the next one now.

20 Jan 2018 13:32:34
Hello people, hope you are all well. I personally think the fact klopp is going to give Karius a good run of games it can only give the lad confidence and make him a better player. I honestly believe he won't be in the top 3 goalies in the world but I think the lad will become a top keeper given the chance.

1.) 20 Jan 2018 15:50:15
The key is he has to stick with it now. The last thing we need is Klopp getting cold feet and re-instating Migs after a few weeks because the media and fans keep obsessing over Karius' hand position or an occasional mis-hit clearance.

We know Migs will never stop making mistakes because he's been at it for 4 years, so even if Karius has some shaky moments, the best thing we can do is allow him to play through them to see can he overcome them with a run in the team. Look at what a run in the team has done for Robertson. At least then we'll know for certain if he's capable of stepping up or not and whether we need a new goalie. No point in going into the summer knowing that Migs isn't good enough but still with a niggling doubt about whether Karius could step up if given the chance.

You may notice I didn't mention Danny Ward. I'd like to see more of the guy, but he's clearly not entering the equation for Klopp, so what's the point? It'd make as much sense to talk about Markovic as a replacement for Coutinho.

2.) 20 Jan 2018 17:16:25
That’s exactly my point SR. I think the fact it seems klopp is going to stick with karius for the rest of the season is the only way he can really be judged and as you said it’s the only way he can improve or gain confidence.

3.) 20 Jan 2018 19:33:23
It's got nothing to do with the fans or media, it's down to Karius. If he's good there'll be no problem, if he's not he may well get dropped again.

4.) 20 Jan 2018 21:16:16
No problem with Klopp giving Karius a run of games but why oh friggin why does he have to announce his “number 1 for the rest of the season”.

Newsflash Jürgen : the world doesn’t need to know your teamsheet for the rest of the season! 😡.

5.) 21 Jan 2018 09:30:02
Ron keague - I presume klopp is telling minoglet that is time to find a new club.

The fact he had kept ward would suggest this was the plan all along.

If this is not the case, then klopp really should not be telling the whole world who number one is.

Fully agree MK but like most great strikers past and present the aggression needed to make it to the top is what caused his trivia. I will concede though that he had a bit too much aggression or couldn’t control it.

Bergkamp: straight up genius with or without the ball and made the most ridiculous turn on a defender I’ve ever seen.
Le tissier: one club man (at a relegation riddled period for Southampton, had most the big guns after him but showed his talent where it mattered most to him (home) .
Steven Gerrard: in my opinion the most all rounded footballer the premier league has seen and above all who could forget Istanbul?
Thierry Henry: made the rugged English game look beautiful most weeks, footballing brain and elegance second to none.
Luis Suarez: the man had everything, was never in the treatment despite being kicked left right and centre, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more determined player, he would run through brick walls if he could and the quality the man showed through his short time in the prem had me on the edge of my seat whenever he received the ball.
Could of done with a bigger list than 5 but never the less that’s my 5 who I would pick.

Look the January 2018 transfer window is history, gone, finished. As far as I’m concerned it’s on to the next one. Can’t wait for the summer 140 odd days or so.
