Now that Bacca is possibly off to Milan, I hope Rondon and Benteke are not actually a possibility.
Do we have any interest in Luiz Adriano from Shakhtar? Will be a low fee considering contract up at Christmas and, similar to Bacca, of an age where he won't hamper the progress of the youngsters coming through.

Spasmith

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

1.) 28 Jun 2015 09:00:03
I hope to god we haven't bid for Bacca because we opted for Benteke instead. Complete madness as he brings nothing to our team wth our style of play.

Hi eds

There's some really decent players available on a free transfer this summer. I know there's interest in Milner, but do we have any interest in Fabien Schar from Basel, Sami Khedira, Luke Garbutt, Luiz Adriano, Yevhen Konoplyanka or Andre Ayew?
Also any update on whether Jon Flanagan will sign a new contract. I know he's out until next year, but he done enough last season to warrant a new deal.
Cheers eds

Spasmith

{Ed001's Note - these have all been discussed at length already.}

Is there any interest in Sam Byram from Leeds? Very good and promising RB. Also played RWB effectively this season. Would be an obvious replacement for Johnson IMO.
Cheers Eds

Spasmith

{Ed001's Note - there was interest in the past, it waned this season.}

Can anyone suggest the best way of getting hold of match day tickets for home games? I live in the North East and go to the away games up here when Liverpool play (and sit in the home end : ( ) but can't find anywhere to get home tickets.
Is there a season ticket exchange or anything similar for fans to purchase tickets?
Any help appreciated.

Spasmith

1.) 21 Aug 2017 15:56:17
i joined members club on there web page about £27 a year and got tickets for Wednesdays game would have got palace tickets and arsenal one's to but membership takes 24 hours to come active and by then was both sell outs but I did get tickets for all 3 games but would not let buy them until membership was active.

2.) 21 Aug 2017 16:10:10
Brilliant! Thanks Grino.

3.) 21 Aug 2017 16:36:02
You wouldn't have been eligible for the Arsenal game Grino as you wouldn't have had 4 games from last year on your membership.

4.) 21 Aug 2017 16:43:41
Membership is the best way to get your foot in the door, you shouldn't have a problem getting tickets for the cup games but it's still hard to get tickets for league games, they sell within minutes and you need luck getting past the queues before they all go.

5.) 21 Aug 2017 17:41:56
Now Spasmith where in the North East our you? If you manage to get tickets let me know if you could get me one and you want to share spoils on travel etc?

Baz.

6.) 21 Aug 2017 17:52:10
Try and make friends with someone in the Supporters Club usually there are quite a few people with an extra ticket or willing to give up their ticket for face and a few pints.

7.) 21 Aug 2017 18:01:46
Baz, I'm from Durham area. Go to all away games when up here, but always in the home end. Loads of dodgy looks when we score.

Really good debut for Robertson yesterday, but would be better if we had a poacher to get in the box on the end of those crosses.

Spasmith

1.) 20 Aug 2017 10:51:05
Very proud of the lad hope he continues to impress.

2.) 20 Aug 2017 11:26:47
yep, a great cross and some good defence and attack plays. Good man :)

3.) 20 Aug 2017 12:38:23
He deserves more credit for his debut after a lot of fools said "I know he's not good enough because I watched him play for Hull".

Well done Robbo 👏.

4.) 20 Aug 2017 13:29:48
While it was wrong to rite him off like that it's also abit early for the ", I told us so's, we played a desperately poor palace team so let's wait for say 10 games in before judging, I remember Moreno playing well and scoring on his first game against spurs?

5.) 20 Aug 2017 16:01:12
The difference is Port red, that some of us were willing to give him a chance whilst others wrote him off before he kicked a ball.

6.) 21 Aug 2017 15:22:01
He's never done anything wrong whilst playing for Hull anyway so it's amazing how people can write him off so early.
Just because he wasn't a 50m player from a top european team, doesn't mean he's bad player. Could prove to be a really good piece of business.

15 Aug 2017 11:32:39
Looking at the official LFC twitter artwork promo for the Hoffenheim game, it seems Karius is likely to be our CL keeper.

Spasmith

1.) 15 Aug 2017 12:02:44
Spas, are you sure? Well, we'll see tonight.

2.) 15 Aug 2017 12:08:59
Ward should be given a chance.

3.) 15 Aug 2017 12:34:24
They also have Can on there, does that mean he will play every CL game? (insert rolling eye face)

Its beacuse Klopp, Can and Karius are German and we are playing a German team tonight.

Look again Spasmith.

4.) 15 Aug 2017 13:04:18
of course it doesn't mean Can will play every game, but you see quite regularly these days where clubs play a different keeper in Europe to domestic games. It's a way of keeping them happy.
Seeing Karius on the promo ad, would assume he's playing tonight and therefore most likely the European keeper.
I agree Ward should be given a chance.

5.) 15 Aug 2017 15:21:15
I think you're missing the point on this one.

We have 3 German personnel (Klopp, Can and Karius), representing the 3 colors of the German flag in a TWITTER PROMO, as tonight we are playing in GERMANY.

I wouldn't read anything into this other than what it is.

15 Aug 2017 11:30:45
As much as I love little Pipco, i really hope the club just accepts the inevitable bid from Barcelona and let him go.
The only issue then, is how do we replace him or improve the squad when everyone knows we have £100m+ to spend. We'll be quoted overinflated prices.

I'd still go for Ox, however the CB role is a major concern.

Spasmith

1.) 15 Aug 2017 11:41:20
Why go for Ox? He isn't a centre midfielder and isn't a replacement for Pipco? I haven't seen anything that makes me think he isn't any more than a very bog standard winger.

2.) 15 Aug 2017 11:42:46
Ox and VVD I'm hoping for. Then if we signed someone like Seri, Keita or Lanzini on top of that it would be sufficient. Keita would be my first choice but if RBL are defiant that they aren't selling then Seri or Lanzini would be good back up options imo.

3.) 15 Aug 2017 11:49:14
Ox can play in any of the offensive positions in midfield. He's versatile and has a great engine suited to Klopps style of play.
Pipco was likely to play the AM with two behind or left side of a 3 with a holding midfielder. Ox can definitely play both positions.

Not saying he's as good, but who is that's reachable for LFC?

4.) 15 Aug 2017 12:04:15
Spas, Ox is patently poor and would be the worst "replacement" for Cou, ever. We need creativity in midfield and if we think we can rely on Bobbie and Lallana to do that then we will struggle, mightily.

5.) 15 Aug 2017 12:09:34
We need a matic type player. As well as a coutinho replacement.

6.) 15 Aug 2017 13:12:59
Bingo, we can't attract players of Coutinho's quality to directly replace him therefore we need to bring in different players to help improve the squad and minimise the affect of Pipco leaving.
We 'replaced' Suarez with rubbish. This time we need proven PL experience.

7.) 15 Aug 2017 13:15:34
This is why we won't win anything. Sell coutinho and buy ox are you joking?
Whatever money we get for Couts should be ALL used on a player equally as good.
Didn't selling Suarez and buying 5 average players not teach you anything, we went from League contenders to 6th and have barely recovered since.
We need top players not more average ones.

8.) 15 Aug 2017 14:18:31
Who is in Coutinho's bracket that will come to liverpool?

14 Aug 2017 08:12:37
Why don't we keep Moreno and push him further upfield. He's got a quality left foot and good pace. He'll be much more suited as a left sided midfielder.

Spasmith

{Ed001's Note - because he was a failed winger in the first place. He is not more suited to playing in midfield.}

1.) 14 Aug 2017 08:26:25
He's got to be better in midfield than defence.

{Ed001's Note - and who would you drop from there to put him in? Our left sided player is Mane, would you prefer to test out Moreno instead of him? He either plays left back or not at all.}

2.) 14 Aug 2017 08:39:06
Actually Mane's preferred position is the right side .

{Ed001's Note - oh well ok then, let's drop Salah for Moreno then. By the way Mane is happy to play anywhere across the front, as he has done throughout his career.}

3.) 14 Aug 2017 08:53:16
Change the system, sign a CDM ro help out the Cbs and have our fullbacks play as wingbacks. You not only solve the Moreno conundrum but it suits TAA and Robertson as well considering none of them are particularly great at defending.

4.) 14 Aug 2017 09:00:16
Sorry ed, I wasn't aware the same 11 played every game. Do you suggest we have one player for left and one for right side? Maybe that's where we're going wrong.

{Ed001's Note - is that the best reply you've got? Because I would suggest moving a failed winger to play back at winger was a stupid idea and is where managers keep going wrong. Round pegs in round holes. We have plenty who can cover the wing, youngsters like Kent, so why put Moreno there? Now stop being a smart arse until you actually are smart enough to carry it off.}

5.) 14 Aug 2017 09:27:29
Moreno as a winger is a non starter, Spasmith.

6.) 14 Aug 2017 10:05:30
Have people not noticed we don't play traditional wingers who just run up and down in straight lines whipping crosses in? We ain't a fat Sam coached team.

7.) 14 Aug 2017 11:04:17
Moreno is no winger but, to his credit, he seems to be trying to iron out the flaws in his game and looks much improved at left-back compared to last season. The lad has an apparently excellent attitude, trains hard and wants to improve - maybe give him a bit more time this season and see if he can't do a job for us a left back?

8.) 14 Aug 2017 12:51:47
Gareth Bale wasn't a winger. We have an attack minded full back who can't defend, tried coaching him for over a year and we can't sell him for the price we want.
Simple suggestion is to try him in midfield.

Because he's apparently a failed winger in the past (5yrs ago in Spain) has no relevance to how he can be coached to competent his abilities in the future.

9.) 14 Aug 2017 20:55:17
Indian Buzzer's suggestion all day everyday, but the answer I get is Klopp's system doesn't work with a DM.

I've always rated AOC and mentioned a few times I'd like to see him at LFC this season, so I'm glad it looks like it's going to happen.
It will be interesting to see all the Ox 'haters' suddenly come out and say how much of a great signing he is.

We need to make an move for Jordan Pickford. He is potentially a future England No.1 and with Sunderlands impending relegation, may come at a reasonable price.

Cheers Ed.
Tristan, i think it's important to have the team fully ready ASAP instead of adding players at the end of the window.

Does does anyone know whether there are issues holding up potential deals for LB targets or if Klopp is happy with what we have?

Cheers.

We've seen with Barcelona how much clubs increase transfer fees when you have the money.
If we sell PC, yes we'll have £130m+ but whoever we buy to replace or strengthen the squad will come at a higher price anyway.
We won't benefit from selling him. Keep him. Add to the squad as we were hoping to do anyway and challenge for trophies this season. Let him go next season.
