I am in no way a fan of Balotelli but this focus on him all the time is brushing over more major problems. He was the wrong buy for a pressing high energy side as Rogers likes to play. That is Rogers fault.

The shirt swapping issue is a red herring. Whilst not agreeing with it I find more troubling our right back joking with Ronaldo whilst the game is going on.

Our defence is at best mediocre at worst a complete mess. Rogers has spent at least £100m on defenders and midfielders and we are getting worse. Good sides have a strong defence as a core to there success. We do not and until it is sorted we will continue to struggle against good well organised physical sides.

Re Balotelli his best game was against Spurs when in partnership with Sturridge. Since then the partnership has not played again. We can only judge him when Sturridge is back. I would play Lambert on Saturday as his hold up and teamwork is more in keeping with what we need at this moment. Balotelli would be a better option coming off the bench.

We were beaten by the better side, we move on to Saturday and 3 points get us in top 4. I have to believe we will sort our defence out but it needs to be sooner rather than later. We are still competitive in the group with second place up for grabs. Don't all jump on Balotelli, he is not the biggest problem we have!

I think there is some complacency in the comments made to date. We continue to make mistakes at the back and when we are in tight games we cannot afford to do this all the time. We seem to be stuttering in attack as well with us seeming to be slower in our passing and players taking too many touches ( hope this is early season bedding in).

Our big problem is our keeper. For those of you who feel he is a good keeper do not know what a keeper is about. He is a good shot stopper and not a good keeper. His organisational and assuredness under pressure are questionable at best. His positioning for the first and third goals were poor ( the first one he should have stood up facing attacker based on the angle of the player. The third goal was school boy stuff with his positioning embarrassing). I have the feeling that he is not an assured or confident keeper. He certainly cannot give confidence to his defenders. The other top clubs bar perhaps Arsenal have assured keepers.

The manager has had 12 months to sort this problem and it has not been sorted. Perhaps he needs help in this regard.
Need to get it sorted because our next few games could see further problems for us and us being in bottom half after 6-10 games.

Chelsea had a plan and executed it really well. We can moan about style but this is a results business.

My only point would be linked to Martin Atkinson's treatment of the obvious time wasting and disruption to the pace of the game. From the start Chelsea tried to slow all facets of the game from goal kicks, throw ins etc. this was part of Chelsea plan to disrupt our faster style of play. Again it worked.

Atkinson kept pointing to his watch and only booked someone in the 87 th minute. Why then and not before. If he saw this a gamesmanship then booking a player at the start of this process would have stopped it as the risk of an early booking could have an impact on the game. Chelsea earned the points but I was confused about the approach Atkinson followed. Apart from that I thought he refereed the game well.

My frustration with the last 2 windows is that we were told as fans our signings will be for starting 11 players. 2 windows and we have not achieved this. We are standing still which in footballing terms means we are going backwards.

We seem with our transfers to lurch from one embarrassment to another which damages the reputation of the club. To have your Cheif Exec to fly over and still fail does not sit well

It looks like Cardiff's owner will be in attendance tomorrow. Would be good if we gave some solidarity to Cardiff supporters and more importantly Malky Mackay. Let us remember the two clowns we had a few years back who bullied, lied and nearly bankrupted our club. Would be a touch of class from us.

{Ed002's Note - I can't believe you still want to make this about Chelsea. Let go of it - Gerrard is going for more money - move on.}

It is not worth commenting on this ill thought through statement. Are Liverpool fans any more fickle than other clubs who are under achieving. Remember last season re United, Chelsea with AVB and Benitez. How many world wide fans do LFC have and what percentage comment on this site? Stupid comment.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool fans are the most fickle - and constantly embarrass themselves about trying to make everything about Chelsea.}
