71 points watch.

It amused me that he was absolutely right, 71 points woulda done it. 4points and 7 goals short.

SirWenger

1.) 29 May 2023 03:13:02
We would have needed a better goal-difference than Newcastle.

2.) 29 May 2023 08:31:10
If Newcastle needed to beat Chelsea they probably would and could have done. The goals were the issue even when winning it was good but only by the odd goal so we got nowhere near making up the minus 7 goal difference.

In the end we somehow finished behind a very poor Man U side and I wouldn’t have thought that was possible. Next season shapes the next 5.

3.) 29 May 2023 10:07:11
Are you accusing Newcastle of throwing a match Mark?

4.) 29 May 2023 10:09:02
Top 4 been long gone. All we were doing was trying to drum up some excitement as the signs were showing that we could just to get some fun out of it, IMO. If Newcastle needed to win, they would have played like it and prolly won vs this shambolic Chelsea team with the "Football Genius" Frank Lampard at the helm. EL is what it is. On to next season.

5.) 29 May 2023 10:57:15
They didn’t throw a game WDW but probably didn’t train as hard as normal, planning not quite the same etc. I am sure Man City would have won as well if needed.

6.) 29 May 2023 11:17:50
Mark, did we finish behind a very poor Man Utd side because we were a very very poor Liverpool side?

7.) 29 May 2023 11:28:06
We had no chance of top four before the season started. Terrible management and some players let us down big time.
The only silver lining was the emergence of young Baj.

8.) 29 May 2023 11:48:13
Agreed on Baj he gives us all hope.

McGov we weren’t even that good mate. Klopp had a shocker.

9.) 29 May 2023 21:38:08
We couldn't finish top four before the season started.

Gooner here in peace.

Yous should all calm down.
Yes you form has been crap since the restart.
No fans (the support, but also the reason to turn up), no CBs, no midfield cause they're playing CB, and this new expectation to win (underdogs no more) of course you're not smashing it.
City have no fans and squad depth to field two different XIs and have em both finish top 4, they were always going to win this season.
Yous were all very aware how big of an impact the anfield crowd was,

SirWenger

{Ed002's Note - You realise that "yous" are lady sheep don't you?}

1.) 08 Feb 2021 19:40:03
EWE really? haha.

2.) 08 Feb 2021 19:48:50
Yous might have a point there cuz.

3.) 08 Feb 2021 21:19:40
Rather than a cheeky dig SirWenger, I say cheers, well said.

4.) 08 Feb 2021 22:13:19
Yous are prob right.

5.) 09 Feb 2021 04:27:09
SirWenger has a point. Without the crowd we have been down to a mere 11 men.

Arsenal fan in peace.

Bobby, salah, vvd - all good players, but for the last few years Mane has been absolutely exceptional. Joy to watch him, seems lovely as well.

Robertson's gamemaship is quality to watch too. Always giving a sneaky push, a calculated wee fall with his arm onto the head tonight, and always straight back up with a laugh and a massive, obnoxious, toothy grin. Absolute wind-up merchant, he's great - must drive so many opposition players mad!

SirWenger

{Ed0666's Note - Hey Wenger. Brilliant post wonderfully articulated.

1.) 05 Dec 2019 01:15:14
Thanks SW appreciate your post on here given your current struggles. Hope you can sort it out and silence those deluded spurs fans!
On Mane I have had the privilege to meet him a couple of times and he really is the most humble and sweet guy you could ever wish to meet. He’s so thankful and appreciative of what he has which is a breath of fresh air in this day and age of footballers thinking they are world superstars. He is anything but. Great, great guy.

{Ed0666's Note - Also does a heck of a lot for charity as well mate.

2.) 05 Dec 2019 01:30:19
He does but so do a lot of players to boost their profile. With him though I really think he means it. I’ve met all of the current squad and he really did stand out as the one who didn’t know just what a superstar he is. Just a normal kid with a big talent and a big heart. I honestly couldn’t speak too highly of him and his character. Top, top bloke. Wherever he ends up in his career I will honestly follow and support him because true gentlemen are so hard to come by in this sport.

{Ed0666's Note - I’m glad you’re eulogizing about Sadio as a human being mate because he really does deserve the accolades. The sacrifices that him and his family have made for him to become a professional footballer are immense. He deserves his place at the top table.

Brilliant post. I came on here to say how brilliant I thought mane was tonight. He must be super fit too because I've noticed he doesn't get rested as much as mo and Bobby. Nowhere near as much.

Thought origi was amazing tonight too. What a front 3 we have that keeps the big man on the bench. I'm worried about the amount of games we have this December. It's always hard but crazily this year. I wouldn't mind if klopp put out the u23s in both the league Cup and this ridiculous world club thing. But with players like shaqiri, origi, gomez, milner, Adrian, lallana (was poor tonight but) matip, I think we'll be okay. Those players would start for most clubs in the league.

Another player who is amazing is wjinaldum. One of the most underrated players in the league.

If we come out of this year with our noses in front I say we win the league. If we come out over 6 points ahead i will be doing everything I can to make sure I don't get run over before hendo lifts the league and goes down in Liverpool folklore. got to be honest though. I'm worried about Leicester. They have the magic touch. But we have the bigger and better squad.

I absolutely love this quote from mane when I read it and it perfectly sums up the guy

"Why would I want ten Ferraris, twenty diamond watches, or two planes? What will these objects do for me and for the world? " Mane said

"I was hungry, and I had to work in the field; I survived hard times, played football barefoot, I did not have an education and many other things, but today with what I win thanks to football, I can help my people.

"I built schools, a stadium, we provide clothes, shoes, food for people who are in extreme poverty. In addition, I give 70 euros per month to all people in a very poor region of Senegal which contributes to their family economy. “

What a wonderful human being.

{Ed047's Note - absolutely a wonderful human being, there’s literally nothing not to like about Sadio Mane.

5.) 05 Dec 2019 08:32:25
Ooo I missed the end of the quote

"I do not need to display luxury cars, luxury homes, trips and even planes. I prefer that my people receive a little of what life has given me. "

6.) 05 Dec 2019 10:48:14
And to think, people were banging on about his attitude before we signed him! An absolutely amazing player, and a better human. Let's hope he gets a Premiership trophy and player of the year award to reward his tireless efforts on and off the pitch.

Unfortunately this is just clickbait, and neither team will sign Camavinga on loan.

Liverpool and Arsenal will probably drop a couple points, but I think city are on the decline and might just throw this one away.
Hell of a title race, shame we took 4 points from you both and and still sit 2nd!

As an arsenal fan I agree, I had you as winners from before a ball was kicked.

We lost two points last year to a last minute equaliser they forgot to check for offside. I could see it live, but they 'forgot'. Hey you get an apology though!

It's incredible that they've implemented VAR and it's actually lowered people's confidence in the integrity of the officiating, rather than eradicating all doubt.

His injury is something that's not so serious at all, but could simultaneously potentially be a career long problem.

He plays RCB. We expect him to sign a new deal. When he does leave, a more realistic destination would be Paris or Madrid - he isn't going to liverpool lol.

If you get 71 points, you will finish 4th. Big if though.
