I've heard BR mention the loss of Sturridge this season as a major factor in our failures this season. This is a view held by fans too, but is the issue not simply Daniel's glass body, but the fact that BR has spent almost £40m on Borini, Lambert, Balotelli and Origi?

It implies he lost a world class striker (Suarez) for a lot of money and didn't use it to get a high calibre replacement.

Deflecting criticism again, maybe a career in politics beckons after he's sacked.
He would make an excellent spin doctor.

He says if you don't win the FA cup or make top 4 this season he will be disappointed, really! I'm shocked, I mean why would that disappoint anyone who had spent a fortuneand been totally found out this season.
Sometimes I think he's to hard on himself

I agree on both fronts, though I don't think he has the intelligence to go into politics, may be car sales.

Part of me thinks that BR's philosophy is what we need at the club. We won't spend the BIG money (transfers and wages) to compete with the current top 4, so we need to focus on winning games. If we had a more defensive manager, whilst we'd ship less goals, I do think on average we'd be finishing the league with less points.

The problem we have is with BR's awful transfer record. He seems to really struggle with this. Our saviour at the moment is supposedly Sterling, not his purchase, last season was Suarez, again not his, before that Gerrard. The last month (where we haven't been playing particularly well, though sometimes picking up 3 points) many have spoken of the loss of an in form Lucas, not his and now we're suffering from the loss of Skrtel, once more not his. Then we have the Captain in waiting, Henderson, another one of Kenny's.

The big successes have been Sturridge and Coutinho, but that's a very poor return, for an outlay of a couple of hundred million. Simply not good enough.

Also Aspas and Yesil for another £9M or so. BR has bought 7 strikers in 3 years, complaining about goal scorers is a bit silly in that context.

Can looks like a good buy as well. Was he about £10m?
So added to the Sturridge and coutinho money that's about £35m invested wisely in total.

I was reading the comments box on a newspaper website about BR`s attitude in the media and even fans from other clubs say the same thing: He takes responsibility for ABSOLUTELY nothing. He is whining about Studge`s injury when every man and his dog knew he was a sicknote in a bid to absorb himself from blame. hence in he eyes, Sydge is the reason he/we messed up and nothing to do w/ with his incomptetence and mismanagement in critical areas. Now he`s saying he would be disappointed if we don`t win a trophy. NO S***T, SHERLOCK! He will be out of a job if that happens that way, he can be REALLY disappointed.

They'll have a new management system in place this summer surely? Who knows what players they'll target?

Is the transfer committee real or myth? If it really does exist, doesn't BR have a final say anyway?

The topic of the transfer committee only seems to come up in conversation when people are defending BR.

Either way, our transfers since FSG arrived have been truly awful.

Dortmund are currently mid table fodder, with half the points of leaders BM. Personally, I think Klopps bubbles burst.

Mario needs to be moved on, as too does Johnson, but I'd also look to be selling Sterling, otherwise we're going to be going through this transfer bollocks every season. The lad demanded to be the highest paid 15 year old, 18 year old, see a pattern?

As for Skrtel, he's our best defender, and I don't rate him at all, so I'd keep him, unless wholesale changes are made.

We desperately need world class experience in this side. £50m on a couple of top signings would reignite the fire of last season, though that's not going to happen with BR's running around saying no decent player will want to come to Liverpool. He's too defeatist with transfers, he's also an unknown on the world stage which is why we need a top level manager, someone who may be in a position to attract some of the cream of the crop. Top players with a desire for a real challenge must be out there.
