Well guys it looks like Klopp is to be announced today, and everyone is buzzing! At work at the moment, can hear Klopp's name flying around. For once the usually bitter United fans in the office seem to have a bit of respect for something we're doing, and actually seem a little scared of the prospect.

The general idea I get from people not just here at work, but on social media and at home is that this is a very respected man, the fans are behind him as both a manager and a person which is something it felt we never fully were with Rodgers.
Lets hope he brings his genius to Liverpool and all this excitement and buzz is worthwhile.
A difficult start for him, let's give him time.

So, Bild (obviously not a trustworthy source before someone says it) are reporting that Klopp is making a move for Mario Gotze. While I highly doubt this, I do get the feeling that having a manager like Klopp means these things aren't impossible.

If I heard the same rumour when Rodgers was manager I would've said no, never going to happen and laughed it off. However Klopp has the pull of a world class manager, and has worked with these players before, so who knows?

Opinions guys?

Klopps always brought young developed and sold on for more. I think his most expensice signing was immobile. no way will we pay big money for gotze unless coutinho goes. In which case i'd rather max meyer.

2.) 08 Jan 2016 10:48:27
another number 10. sounds right!

3.) 08 Jan 2016 10:49:10
I would say the only way on this earth this will happen is if Coutinho leaves for a similar fee. Even then I can see it being Alexis Sanchez all over again. If we don't get CL I think we can def rule it out completely. I don't watch a massive amount of football outside the EPL, but firstly isn't he a starter for Bayern? In which case why would the club want him to leave, and why would he pick us over them? secondly doesn't he have a poor injury record? Thirdly, if he is the type of player we are looking for, isn't Klopp more likely to dig around the Zanzibar third tier for 'the new Gotze'?

If coutinho go i like to see texira or firmino in that role.

Hi guys, does anyone else feel like maybe we should forget about Sturridge now and accept that he is no longer one of our striking options? For a while now I've constantly found myself thinking 'when Sturridge comes back things will be even better' etc. But in reality it's one injury after another, the guy is becoming dead weight, he's making a decent salary for sitting with his feet up doing the odd bit of training? Fair play he can't control it but feels like he's taking the piss a bit now, I've supported him throughout his time at Liverpool but this latest injury has done it for me. Time to get rid and move on. Either that, or ask him to take a new pay as you play contract, and if he's not willing to do that get him sold.

Sounds harsh and I doubt he'd take the contract but what else can we do? The lad is the most injury prone athlete I've ever known, and for that reason I don't think he is good enough for premier league football, not in terms of his ability, but in terms of his lack of availability.

To be fairly honest at the moment it is the best time for him to get his head down and focus on been fully fit. He is unstoppable at times when fit and with us having plenty to fall back on keep him in the shadows and let him get fully fit before entering him back into training.

2.) 27 Nov 2015 12:09:09
I have to admit, I've been constant lay of the view 'have patience' but With this latest injury even I am now thinking if we can get him fit and performing and get a good 6-12 months it of him (so his transfer value isn't zero), it may be a good idea to trade for someone younger and more robust. He's devastating and its not the poor chaps fault, but you can't build a team around someone that's constantly off and m not sure he'll ever get back consistently fit.

3.) 27 Nov 2015 12:30:28
You should be careful not to blame the individual who is suffering an injury for the injury he is suffering. I'm sure he's hating it as much as any of us. Hope this one is minor and Studge is back soon.

4.) 27 Nov 2015 12:34:41
Am i right in thinking that his Dads career was cut short with injuries as well Ed002 or Ed001.

Its a tough on to call if he can get fit and stay fit then we all know what he can deliver the main thing is to keep him fit and we all know how hard that can be these days! Do we go out and buy another striker with ings out and origi not hitting the ground running or do we rely on benteke as much as possible even tho he is known to be quite injury prone himself? I know firmino can play back up but he does seem to prefer that number 10 role. tough decision ahead for Klopp. I hope that the injury is not to serious and he can come back sooner rather than later as we need sturridge and i can see him excelling even more under Klopp!

The other question is would his injury prone body even suit the high pressing and fast pace of what Klopp wants or will it take even more of a tole on his body?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what his father did for a living.}

5.) 27 Nov 2015 14:21:50
Ally, the final question you answered is the one nobody has answered yet. With a body like that, he will be useless in a gagenpressing system that requires A LOT OF WORK on and off the ball. if he can`t stay fit, then he can`t even play in that system when he is fit so again, what do you do?

Hi eds, how do you think the press conference tomorrow will go? Says on the website it's an announcement. Will it actually be Klopp talking or just someone on behalf of the club officially announcing he's the new manager?

RyLFC94

{Ed023's Note - He will be introduced to the media and then will take questions from the media in attendance}

May be a stupid question but is it likely we will see Benteke in action in todays game?

1.) 24 Jul 2015 10:39:35
The game in Malaysia? He would have to teleport over there pretty darn quick!

2.) 24 Jul 2015 10:40:37
He's 3000km away from the team

3.) 24 Jul 2015 11:58:50
Got visions of Benteke walking across land and sea like Gullivers travels.

4.) 24 Jul 2015 12:27:30
Beam up Benteke! Very ENTERPRISING! Warp Factor 3 Captain.

5.) 24 Jul 2015 13:29:34
Haha. Well he is a big dude. Maybe he could build a giant's causeway with the new roof truss. He'd wanna hurry up though.

6.) 24 Jul 2015 14:10:57
Ah man, it would seem it was a stupid question. Hahah I wouldn't mind but I even knew he was training at Melwood, ignore me guys, just excited to see Big Ben play!

Hi eds,
If the reports are true that we have agreed a fee with Villa for Benteke. How long would you say until he completes his move? Obviously it totally depends on the player but could you see him being involved in any of the upcoming pre-season games?
Thanks
Ryan

I went on a night out in Liverpool a year or so again, was in a bar called Republik celebrating a friends birthday when we seen Sterling (who you're obviously referring to) out with a friend. He came in and just kind of stood there with his friend with a drink in his hand, no dancing or having fun, just standing there. I got a picture with him, being a drunken fan and all. I believe that same day we had lost too. If I was getting paid what he was I would've been in the VIP area with a bottle of Grey Goose! Must have been upset about his lack of money (sarcasm)

87red, you've obviously never had a proper conversation with a bunch of Liverpool fans. Go to the local pubs near Anfield on match days, especially after the games. A lot of discussion about Liverpool, and a lot of discussion about who's not good enough. These people are out there, you're just looking in the wrong place.

To shed some light on how I feel about this whole situation. I'm pretty tired of Liverpool eyeing up players and making bids below the asking price, I'm fairly sure we have enough players to unload to make this signing cost nothing. The lowball offers we constantly see seem more like something to keep the fans happy/ excited than actually trying to sign the players. Teixeira would fit our style of play much better than Benteke,
my girlfriend who knows nothing about football could watch both players for 1-2 games each and know that. Benteke simply doesn't fit what we need, you can call it 'hate' all you want, but these days what isn't 'hate'. You say 'he couldve done better' and suddenly you're a 'hater', its just not true, having an opinion on something does not make you a hater, nobody is saying Benteke is awful and doesn't deserve to play for our club, we're saying he's good but doesn't fit our style of play. We need to cash in and use the money to not make similar mistakes.

To be honest Stoke are not an easy team to play against, we should be happy with any win against them

I'm sorry but I totally disagree with the comment about our attacking minded 'score more than we concede' attitude losing us the PL title in 2014. If anything it was the sole reason we did that well, we had amazing attacking talent and had we focused on being defensive we would have ended just outside of the top 4 like normal.

It looks like another exciting season is ahead, where (unlike last season) we can be dangerous going forward with Coutinho, Firmino, Benteke etc.
