Sunday Express reporting that we are going to bid for £50 million rated Lacazette.

Rosenthal

1.) 04 Jun 2017 14:29:47
So £60m for VVD, £50m for Keita, +- £40m for Salah and then £50m for Lacazette.

Pure fanatsy.

2.) 04 Jun 2017 14:32:50
Not going to happen. He'll end up at Arsenal or United.

3.) 04 Jun 2017 14:42:11
Proper 20 goals season striker who will take us closer to the league and CL. He will bang in plenty.

4.) 04 Jun 2017 14:47:31
Why would he go to arsenal!

5.) 04 Jun 2017 15:04:50
Imagine adding sturridge in his 13/ 14 pomp.

Will do wonders for us.

Lb and lw and thatll do.

6.) 04 Jun 2017 15:07:48
Should go all out to sign him, proven goalscorer who no doubt would improve us.

7.) 04 Jun 2017 15:08:05
his record is great but is there a reason he hasn't left for a big club earlier? he also didn't make the French squad for the euros which sends alarm bells ringing.

8.) 04 Jun 2017 15:11:03
But it won't be for us, simply because we aren't prepared to make these sorts of deals happen. We'll probably end up signing that lad who has scored all those goals at Nice, because he's a bit cheap.

9.) 04 Jun 2017 15:21:04
At what expense of others contributing Harry?

10.) 04 Jun 2017 15:25:26
The fact thay he doesn't play for one of thr "big clubs" is probably why.

And are we seriously even considering questions a players loyalty in this day and age. Should be saluted. No doubt been inudated with offers over the past few seasons.

11.) 04 Jun 2017 15:30:45
Max
Sturridge.

12.) 04 Jun 2017 20:38:53
The Express and Sunday People, hardy credible sources though.

I think if Salah comes in, we might not see a striker.

13.) 04 Jun 2017 20:50:07
Welcome back Harry 😀 hope you are well. just out of curiosity who do you want us to buy I did look through post but didn't notice if you already said.

Liverpool are said to be in "advanced discussions" with Lyon full-back Jordy Gaspar, who is currently yet to sign a professional contract. got to love that phrase 'advanced discussions'. Whatever it may imply! Personally don't know anything about the player.

The Guardian reporting Coutinho close to signing new deal until 2022. They use the phrase 'advanced stages'.

Evening Standard reporting that Liverpool have had a £32.5 million bid for Raul Jimenez rejected by Benfica hoping interest will drive the price up. Gonçalo Lopes reporting. Just passing it on guys.

Rosenthal

1.) 16 Jan 2017 20:38:40
If this is true, Jurgen must have hit the bottle after the Utd match. £32.5 mil!

2.) 16 Jan 2017 21:13:22
Never heard of him TBH but a quick bit of research suggests some Chinese interest - I guess he'll end up there. Oh, and his scoring record isn't that great for a €32m striker either.

3.) 16 Jan 2017 21:33:17
MK had a review about the player couple of weeks ago when he was first linked to us by papers. Ed02 trashed this rumor as an old story being recycled ( Think we looked at him during Brendan regime )
MK claims he is exciting and a good striker who has pace in abundance and clinical up front. Benfica don't sell cheap and th price quoted in the OP us way less.

4.) 16 Jan 2017 22:49:22
SPARTAK MOSCOW sign luis Adriano from AC MILAN, is there something happening that we don't know about, that's two forwards they've signed recently. any news EDDS.

{Ed002's Note - I have already explained it all on the Spartak Moscow page - this is the Liverpool page. Ask me there.]

5.) 17 Jan 2017 10:22:16
Wheres the spartak page ed?

{Ed002's Note - The European pages.}

6.) 17 Jan 2017 11:49:11
Happy to trust Kloppo. Recruitment has definitely improved 🙂

7.) 18 Jan 2017 13:14:50
Just to clarify I never said he had pace in abundance haha. He is no slouch, but he is also not going to be going past Mane in training drills! I'd say he is more Henderson's ball park in terms of pace! Quick, but not renowned for it.

His key attributes are creativity, hold up play, aerial threat and poaching goals. He is also a good PK taker. His creativity means he can play out wide if required, particularly from the left cutting inside onto his right foot.

I'll concede his goal scoring record looks average on the face of it, but this is the kind of striker who as a rule tend to come into their prime around 27 years old, not a pacey Torres/ Owen kind who look finished by 27 years old! There is a clear upward curve in his recent seasons and I have been an admirer for a lot of seasons! £30m would be daylight robbery in todays market, in my opinion.

8.) 18 Jan 2017 13:33:49
Just to elaborate on his goal scoring record, if you look at his time in Spain you will quickly see he only scored once. The thing is though he only played about 600 minutes across around 20 substitute appearances whilst still being very young.

Since moving to Portugal, if you simply evaluate his league and Champions league form, he has 14 goals and 6 assists in roughly 2000 minutes of football. Or otherwise, a goal/ assist every 100 minutes. Only player in our squad who has ever posted figures like that is Sturridge. And 4 goals and 3 assists in the Champions league is probably more than our entire frontline has in their career. In fact if you take out Milner, it is probably more than our entire starting XI!

This is a forward who has proven he can score in high pressure situations, even if he isn't in the team every week. That makes him a very valuable asset to any squad; especially a team hoping to have a successful CL campaign next year. At 25 years old, his best is yet to come!

9.) 18 Jan 2017 16:42:49
Good research MK but still sounds too much money for a striker with an average goalscoring ratio and zero PL experience. I'm still giving him a miss.

FIFA updated their rules regarding contracts. IFA, football's governing body, outlines that contracts should be no longer than five years. Jan 18, 2023. A quick google search would help you.

What? Why? I'm glad we missed the boat! Proved he can't handle the Premiership. Wasn't anything special in that Chelsea team. Seem lightweight and Nunez has much more potential and Gakpo is stronger, faster and better.

True, scoring goals wasn't a problem. Sturridge if miraculously stays fit will score 20 goals in a season. But whether he stays fit is another thing altogether . If we do get those 3 signings I for one would be extremely pleased with our transfer window. More pace, a proper left back, a proven, quality centre back and potentially a beast of a midfielder on a cheeky let's get him
now whatever the cost before someone else buys him. And let's not forget Solanke could prove to be an absolute bargain striker. Looked good against Tranmere. YNWA.
