Hi Eds

As it stands who are the club viewing as serious replacements for Gerard?? Have we lined anyone up for this midfield spot or is that still work in progress?

Rony09

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed as far as I am aware in terms of midfield targets. I understand from an ex-German international that Liverpool have watched Lars Stindl on more than one occasion this season but he has decided to reject the interest of Liverpool and will move to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer. Milner, Khedira (looking very, very, very unlikely), Pjanic (outrageously expensive), Vazquez. Even though he has very recently extended his contract, Inter are willing to sell Kovacic and have spoken with Arsenal, Liverpool and Hertha Berlin. Nikky Vuskan has said there has not been any approach to him from any club at this time and that whilst Inter may be willing to sell the player, Kovacic wants to stay at the club. Filipe Anderson has been watched but nothing will happen with Liverpool.}

Hi Eds

Could you possibly clarify if we have a serious interest in Menphis Depay? Rumours circulating recently have Liverpool as favourites then Utd have as good as signed him then Liverpool odds on again!! Has rogers made any moves for this lad and also is there any genuine interest in Rui Patricio and Carvalho??

Rony09

{Ed002's Note - PSV's Memphis Depay has attracted interest from a number of clubs with Manchester City, Real Madrid, Newcastle, Spurs, Marseille and Manchester United looking to see of a deal can be struck this past summer. Marseille signed Batshuayi and dropped their interest in Depay, and I suspect both Manchester City and Real Madrid have dropped their interest. Manchester United, Newcastle and Spurs are known to still keeping an eye on the player with Everton and Liverpool also both having had the player watched recently. Someone very knowledgable about football in the Netherlands has suggested that a move to Newcastle would suit him better than the likes of Real Madrid or the Manchester sides as he would need a couple of years to establish himself in the first team and sitting on the bench will not help him at all. He has also advised the player against a move to Spurs, and his views are well enough thought of to likely remove them from being an option for the player himself. No offers have been made to PSV at this time but it is know that a figure between €25M and €30M would be enough for them not to block a move. The expectation remains that a move to Manchester United is most likely.

I answered about Patricio earlier.

There is interest in Carvalho from a number of clubs still and there have been fairly recent approaches by Arsenal and Manchester United. Monaco and Atletico Madrid may also still be interested. Juventus and Chelsea passed on previous interest because of the cost. Sporting would ideally like to keep him a year or two more. Everyone knows the price and it is significant and there seems little room for negotiation. Liverpool looked at the player at the start of last year but I am not aware of any interest right now.}

Hi Ed, can you shed any light even at this stage who the main targets are this summer and who will exit the club?

Rony09

{Ed001's Note - this early? It would be pure guesswork. I mean look at Lucas, he was certain to leave up unti the window opened, when the club became desperate to hang on to him!}

1.) 05 Feb 2015 08:54:37
I hope the situation with Lucas remains the same as now. NOT FOR SALE!

2.) 07 Feb 2015 20:58:54
Couldn't agree more! Lucas has proved to be a very valuable player to Pool providing the solidity they need at a time when the goals are not flying in!

Hi Ed, I heard it from a very good source that Konoplyanka and Ings are both due on Merseyside tomorrow for medicals after fees were agreed this evening with their clubs! Lambert and Ballotelli are both expected to leave on loan deals also! WBA have also bid 8.5m for Allen which Liverpool are considering!

Rony09

{Ed002's Note - Exciting times ahead.}

1.) 01 Feb 2015 22:53:19
Please let that be true £8.5m for Allen bite hand, arm, sholder and some neck. Even if that's miss printed £0.5m take it.

2.) 01 Feb 2015 23:15:16
Lol my word

3.) 01 Feb 2015 23:51:27
Can't work out Eds tone in the response. Surely sarcasm.

4.) 02 Feb 2015 00:28:55
Balotelli 'loan'.

5.) 02 Feb 2015 02:41:46
Hmmm, as exciting as it would be to have so much activity on deadline day for a change, the fact that this is Rony's first ever post on this site speaks volumes

6.) 02 Feb 2015 02:45:14
Joe Allen seems the opposite of a Tony Pulis player

7.) 02 Feb 2015 07:46:30
I have a feeling this should be in the 'dodgy rumours' section!

8.) 02 Feb 2015 08:45:53
Not a chance. We won't see anyone arrive today and I would be surprised if we let either of Lambert or Balotelli go with the amount of games we have coming up.

9.) 02 Feb 2015 11:51:10
Exciting times indeed . . I reckon if all that happens your FIFA team will look great !

Barcelona are a bit like a kid in a toy shop! They this vast riches from the proceeds of the Neymar sale. They are trying to squeeze Liverpool for Coutino cause they want Dembele as well with the money. Liverpool should stand firm and demand what they think is current market value for the player. I personally see no value in retaining the player unless of course Barcelona refuse to pay what the pool deem acceptable. I think we should be looking £120m at least. Barcelona desperately want Coutino as he would replace Neymar initially but also Iniesta longer term! come lads today at Watford YNWA!

Hi Eds, valuing your opinion, do you believe that JK would be happy to go into the first half a season with current squad?

Rony09

{Ed025's Note - no..he will say different of course..

28 Jun 2015 10:44:48
Hi Eds, after letting the young keeper Ward go to Aberdeen on loan would you expect us to get another keeper or go with just the two?

Rony09

{Ed002's Note - I am sure even Liverpool are not stupid enough to buy players to replace people sent on loan.}

1.) 28 Jun 2015 11:50:20
Want to bet ed?

2.) 28 Jun 2015 17:17:30
{Ed002's Note - I am sure even Liverpool are not stupid enough to buy players to replace people sent on loan.}

PMSL. Sarcasm at it's finest.

3.) 29 Jun 2015 01:18:43
Why replace a player who wasn't going to play anyway?

03 May 2015 08:09:17
Hi Eds

Any movement on a new structure to replace the inadequate transfer committee? It so clearly is not working and always appears to be on the back foot!!

Surely there should have been a Plan A, B & C last summer for Suarez's departure but yet again they have been caught out leaving only a panic buy (Ballotelli) leaving the manager with what is clearly a complete strike force he has no faith in!!

What is the latest with Depay some encouraging press recently which suggests Liverpool are winning the race but would not be surprised if Utd or someone else came along and blew them out of the water!!

Rony09

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed with Depay. What I previously said is still correct.}

1.) 03 May 2015 10:23:38
I've heard that there is another meeting with Depay today, not sure if it's true Eds or needed at this stage though?

{Ed002's Note - What makes you think that there have been any meetings between the player himself and Liverpool?}

2.) 03 May 2015 12:04:58
Maxlfc

1) I still think given time as a young manager he could come good but since most people on here want instant success most People are embarrassing them selfs with your comments on here.sound like a bunch of teenagers.

2) don't take everything you here as gospel when he says that he might not mean it.
It might be a way of just taking a bit of pressure off the players.

Managers all over the world say things all the time they are most of time saying it for a reason.

It's like saying the team you are playing are favourites to win that doesn't mean he thinks there team is better than yours he is just putting the pressure on the opposition.

Fans on here are embarrassing and like the ED's say freckle!!! conduct your self better.

3.) 03 May 2015 13:03:33
I wouldn't call 200 million, 3 years and zero trophies impatient. No one expected miracles but they do expect improvement and currently we are going backwards.

Rodgers mouth actually has the opposite effect, he puts more pressure on the players because he won't take the blame for anything himself.

4.) 03 May 2015 15:21:16
Ed002, do you still think Depay will end up at Manchester United.
Thanks in advance for your reply
Ollivander

{Ed002's Note - Probably.}

5.) 03 May 2015 15:35:37
Meant his agent or representatives Ed mate, just heard was some meeting today but suppose nothing else to discuss. I don't no, was just after your thoughts really.

07 Apr 2015 20:21:04
Hi eds, just a thought but I really believe that Rafa could be a great DOF. Remember he was spotting David Villa, Daniel Alves and Alonso etc long before they came household names. I think if could find more gems like these and Rodgers coached them to fulfil their potential this really could be a dream team??

Rony09

{Ed001's Note - he never spotted them, the scouts did. As for them not being household names, all 3 were well known in Spain, especially Alonso, who Tosh had tried to get Liverpool to buy long before. There is no way Rafa could cope without meddling, it would be a disaster.}

1.) 07 Apr 2015 23:54:37
Another Rafa-in post. Must be the season. He is an arrogant control freak who doesn`t like being told wht to do and he still wants to manage us again hence, he will make the coach`s life a living hell by meddling which will lead to him taking the job when said-coach gets fired. The pro Rafa brigde need to let it go. HE AIN`T COMING!!!!!
