I posted a fairly long post, my first in some time but it didn't get posted, any reason for this?

{Ed001's Note - it is on the others page, where the more lengthy ones go so they can be seen for a while rather than just falling off the page in a couple of hours.}

RE: The Juicer - Suso

No problem Juicer, I've watched a fair few games of Suso in Spain. He is certainly showing the traits that have had me raving about him for years. But, and its a fairly big But for him to get in our first XI or at least challenge for a spot I think he needs to get goals and assists as well as put the effort in to make the numbers up in midfield. Much like Coutinho, he needs to be more proactive playing centrally when he gets the chance. I wonder how many opportunities he will get in that position next season? He also needs a little luck. a goal or two at the start of the season would give him the confidence to kick on. his passing is wonderful on occasion and the way he plays fits into our style certainly.
If the opportunities are not there he should get a season on loan at at a Premier League team. but I think he can compete for a start if he stays.

Hope that helps. my opinion only of course.

The situation with LS should not detract from the promising work in pre-season. It is easy to simply write off victories and clean sheets as inconsequential but on the whole there is a lot of positives to be taken into our new season. Hopefully this is not undermined by Suarez and his web of lies and finger pointing. I hope we receive an offer that is sufficient so we can end our association with him definitively and move forward as soon as possible.
Our signings have all showed promise so there is hope for the rest of the transfer window, albeit it's taking a little longer than we may have hoped.

I thought Rodger's interview with the Echo was perhaps his strongest piece of management to date, hopefully this is a definitive point for him too. On the field the higher pressing is positive, as is the quicker starts, this is part of the team evolution for next year.

Ed002, if you are around I would appreciate your thoughts if you have time on a couple of issues although not directly Liverpool related.

Do you see;
1. The issues with the timing of the 2022 World Cup in Quatar raised by the Premier League and
2. the growth of football clubs, in particular in terms of spending power by the likes of PSG, Monaco, Bayern compared to their compatriots in their respective Leagues.

accelerate the move to a "European super league"?

Although personally against the idea whilst understanding the lack of money filtering down leagues there seems an increasing number of issues that point this way, pay problems in Portugal, Debt in Spain/England, rising costs, lack of money spread throughout leagues, amongst others. {Ed002's Note - (1) No, the pan-European vision that many clubs share will not be taking the 2022 World Cup in consideration when they meet at the tail end of August. (2) I am not sure that I really understand the question. The eventual move to a pan-European format will include the "leading" clubs from different countries - the income that the new structure can generate will be of far more interest than the actual spending power of individual clubs. Aside from one particular club's owner, all clubs will have owners who want to see the clubs be financially self-sufficient.}

I've heard that Sterling won't let anyone play with the action men or the Scaletrix . he's determined to take all the toys with him to City, Madrid, etc etc. if he doesn't get his way he said he'll send Ward round!!

If our capitulation at the end of the season tought us anything players with qualities like Milner are needed, sure not the most skilful or quick or technical, but his hard work allowed players like Silva to flourish. It was noticeable how better City were with him in the side.

Surely if Marsh and Pascoe are gone Achterberg has to go? We've had so many issues with the keepers since he has come in . I don't know how he's survived. He must have 9 lives or dirt on someone!! Be interesting who are new assistant may be, I'd hope for Carra or at least someone who will challenge Rodgers on his baffling decisions.
