We are now linked to Julian Draxler by the Daily Express. What a load of rubbish. Good player though.

1.) 06 Jul 2016 11:25:45
I can't recall the express ever reporting anything with any truth to it!

2.) 06 Jul 2016 12:33:27
Very true Ace 👍🏻.

3.) 06 Jul 2016 13:23:53
Is the any reliable news papers these days. We must have been linked with 300 players this season.

4.) 06 Jul 2016 16:13:33
The express said we were going to have the hottest summer on record!

5.) 07 Jul 2016 07:44:15
I don't see the big deal about Draxler, looks decent but nothing special.

6.) 08 Jul 2016 12:28:09
Liverpool linked to another player in Germany? Who'd have thought it. According to other sites Arsenal are the ones going to buy him. Wonder how long it will take for everyone in a Euros SF side with an agent to be about to sign for another club.

08 Jul 2013 01:16:02
Have arsenal had a bid rejected for Suarez?. Also I read psg has signed cavani if this true what does this mean for Suarez and Real Madrid. Was cavani not there main target? {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid had let go of interest in Cavani for all practical purposes.}

Not been on for a few days as been manic in work. Anyway, now we supposedly interested in wijnaldum and dropping interest in Chilwell.
Really really hope this is not true, showing a real lack of ambition if true.

I hope this is just a bad dream because I can't be watching Moreno at LB in red next season.

Somebody wake me up please.

1.) 19 Jul 2016 02:01:49
How is Wijnaldum and Chilwell associated?

How is it that we are showing a real lack of ambition if LFC are buying a player that Klopp wants and will cost over 20m?

2.) 19 Jul 2016 07:25:38
@RealAG some of the comments beggar belief mate.

Continuing to sign players for huge sums of money = no ambition

There is an insatiable lust on this site for something, I thought it was money to be spent, clearly it's something else now - I don't know, I can't keep up!

Because like you say, singing GW must mean we won't sign a LB. 🤔.

3.) 19 Jul 2016 08:59:24
Puzzled no it means we should be putting the money into buying a quality left back, we won't pay the asking price for our first choice left back but you think its ok to throw money at a luxury in GW.

08 Jul 2016 12:06:41
I am absolutely delighted we have given Klopp a longer contract. He is a superb manager and one I truly believe in and back fully. Have not had that feeling since Benitez early years.

Absolutely looking forward to this season and future seasons to come as we are on the up. It's not all about money, it's about talent and team work.

I think we have all the ingredients for great times ahead and some superb young talent in the squad.

Enjoying my last day on the beach in Spain, this news has made my day even better. ☀️😎❤️🔴.

07 Jul 2016 10:24:02
Transfer fees have gone mad, everyone is paying way over the odds. Not interested so much in the finance of the deals I just think the game is being ruined buy money.

Everything should be less for the fans with this kind of money being wasted, tickets, merchandise etc.

Rant over.

1.) 07 Jul 2016 12:24:02
There was a memo that went out last month. Without wanting to bore you with all of the details it can be summarised as just take last year numbers and add the lower of £10m or double the amount.

20 Feb 2015 22:42:10
Has to be said, preferred the old layout. May grow on me though

1.) 21 Feb 2015 11:09:46

{Ed001's Note - ok you are just posting up abuse at everyone, including me, and our players. Go elsewhere, you are no longer welcome on this site. I have had to delete a whole slew of abusive imbecilic posts from someone being an utter arse, don't come back, you are pathetic.}

19 Dec 2014 03:38:26
Ed002 a quick question if I may, if you were manager who would you sign to play DM who would realistically be available and what do you think of Lucas there?

{Ed002's Note - Emre Can is certainly capable of playing that role and Kirikou played in a similar role for PSG on occasion - so he could certainly provide cover. If it were a player from outside to arrive that is both available and financially viable, the club could look to Hamburg's Tolgay Arslan - who may yet end up at another EPL side.}

1.) Would any of Alex Song, Wanyama or Schneiderlin be an option and would you think they would fit? Lucas is solid and I like him, but I would think Liverpool would preferably have a more mobile DM that can also distribute the ball from the back. I really like Can too but perhaps needs a couple of years before holding midfield in the really big games, I think he's great right now as box to box like Henderson and part of a back three

{Ed002's Note - No.}

2.) Still not convinced that the club will let Lucas go. Brendan by now must have seen how important he is to the team and the likes of Can, Gerrard and Allen simply do not have the discipline to play there. We need someone like Matic to protect the defense and i'm sure the team's fortunes will improve significantly. Just look how badly Chelsea struggled against Newcastle, the only league game in which Matic did not play. The club should see sense and keep Lucas till the summer and then buy a quality replacement if the player himself wants to leave.

3.) 19 Dec 2014 12:14:11

Agreed on the DM Role, but someone like Matic will cost somewhere near 25 mill now.
We had the opportunity and Ed01 was crying to get someone there like Medal.
Lucas ll be tested against a strings of Arsenal attackers who plays through the middle.

4.) 19 Dec 2014 14:09:43
thanks Ed, never heard of Tolgay so will keep an eye out for him.

5.) Thought I saw Arslan linked to Arsenal a while back, but could be well wrong on that. Anyone else like Jack Cork or is it just me? Thought he was excellent last year at Soton holding and if memory serves he seemed to play more than Wanyama last season.

For me, I'd probably just start playing Can there. He's certainly capable of it and I think at this point in his career he might need to start settling down into a specific position and make it his own although he is quite capable in any number of areas.

6.) If we sold Lucas and kept Allen, I'd be gutted. Lucas is a good defensive midfielder who gets stuck in and shields the back 4. IF they sold him we would be left with no specialist in that area. Really the club should sell Allen as he offers nothing.

7.) Agreed, RDL! He plays CB for the German U-21`s and can play almost anywhere in midfield and even LB. His appetite for the game is awesome and IMO, a coach worth his salt should be able to find a place for him on the team sheet, Not saying he should start every game BUT should be playing more regularly than he is now.

LFC forever,
Klavan is not good enough and Lucas not a centre back. Lucas is only a back up plan, I wouldn't want him in that position for a sustained run of games.
Lovren long term is not the answer either if we have he ambition to be the best so what do you suggest we do to improve at the back?

I agree with you 100%. It's not about individual players it's about the partnership between the two. You can have two players who are not the best individually but amazing together.
I just know we need another centre back, however I couldn't tell how well he would sit with our other centre back, that's the manager and scouts job. A lot will come with training but sometimes with certain players it just happens.
I am really impressed with Matip, not so convinced with lovren but in my opinion he is definitely good enough to keep. I would try to get someone to go with Matip and keep lovren and Gomez for back up and rotation. This is we improve defensively in my view.

He is a very good centre back in my opinion. We need another centre back to compete with matip, Gomez and lovren. Sakho is going and everyone else we have are not good enough.

How is it pointless? They learn the coaching here developing the younger players and work their way up the same as the Dutch do. That's how you become a good coach, does my head the way uk players just think they can become a manager or head coach with ouch ever really coaching.

Can has also played at CB so we have sufficient even if Lucas leaves and we injuries. Nothing to worry about and certainly no reason to go spending millions of pounds. Even more so now we have one of most exiting young CB options in the country, Joe Gomez.
