Hi eds just wondering on illori and teixeira is there any prem clubs interested in these guys on a loan. I can't beleive there is not a lot of interest in them particularly illori whose stock should be high after the summer. Teixeira also was brightens best player last year. Would love to see them get a loan move to a southampton Leicester or Swansea with the promise of playing for us next season. Although if sakho moves I would keep illori to play europa cups and cover prem ahead of toure. I would hope linders is pushing for these players to be involved

Redheaven

{Ed002's Note - Watford asked after Ilori. Derby, Leeds and Reading have asked after Teixeira.}

Hi eds can you say what's happening with skrtel. I see reports saying he has now not signed the new contract but are you aware if an agreement has been reached or if the club had offered him a better deal after the initial 'unacceptable' offer. I have to say my heart sank a little yesterday when news that he had signed a deal came through. It just seems like every decision the club is making now is a mistake and we are not looking like turning a corner

Redheaven

{Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware nothing has been signed by Skrtel. There was some kind of agreement reached, but I am not aware what that might be, and he is on holiday at the moment (if I remember correctly) so can't sign just yet. I don't even know if the agreement is for him to sign or for him to part ways with us. From what I was told of his demands, I am dubious that the agreement would be for him to sign to be perfectly honest. He seems to be wanting a pay rise, though I find it hard to believe that he could honestly think he deserves one.}

Hi ed01 any chance dat transfer update.

Redheaven

{Ed002's Note - This has already been done - read the posts.}

1.) 26 Feb 2016 19:24:57
Where is the update ed? Tried searching cannot find anything anywhere.

One of the best things to read on this site.

2.) 26 Feb 2016 21:00:41
Hey Ed001/ 002 I think Ed001 said he would do his update. Maybe the poster is alluding to that? Although Ed002's update was so mind bogglingly insightful!

Hi ed01 any chance of a transfer update from you.

Redheaven

{Ed001's Note - it is on my to do list mate. I will try and get it done this week.}

1.) 21 Feb 2016 19:58:10
Excellent thanks ed looking forward to it.

2.) 21 Feb 2016 22:00:17
Ed002 did a really good round up recently.

Another one for you ed01 what's your opinion on emre can. Absolutely love the lad. Passion desire power and he has unbelievable talent. But he has that ability to look world class one minute and then lacks composure and makes shocking desicions five minutes later. I know he's only 22. Are we expecting too much. I like him playing with hendo but are we missing a player who can help guide him through spells in games. That's something I notice about us in general everyone's so concentrated on their own game there's no one taking control of defence, midfield etc.

Redheaven

{Ed001's Note - we expect too much, he needs more help from his partner in there. He looked a lot better with Lucas alongside him, as Lucas is one who talks and concentrates on working with whoever is there. Henderson plays his own game, so Can is expected to just play, when he is not quite ready for that. He is still young and learning.}

1.) 13 Jan 2016 22:33:52
He's only going to get better with games, a good run in the team with guidance from Klopp and Lucas and he will end up being absolutely brilliant.

2.) 13 Jan 2016 22:45:36
Thought he was closed down very quickly today, and okay he lost it a few times, mostly he was strong and retained possession.

3.) 13 Jan 2016 22:47:26
I was going to ask eds and reds opinion is that emre lacks awareness when receiving the ball as he can at times get caught on it, or is that there is a lack of communication happening on the pitch?

The way I was screaming this morning at him that there was a player up his clacker I'm sure he woulda heard me all the way from Darwin!

Solid performance, some really good bits of play, occasional sloppy pass towards the end was frustrating but a sign of fatigue perhaps?

4.) 13 Jan 2016 23:47:49
I am the same with Can. But then I remember he's very very young so it's a credit to the lad! Because he's more mature than the likes of Lallana who is much more experienced and older.
Captain Can? I think he has more of an influence than Hendo.

Sorry to say but since yesterday ed02 has been proven correct about liverpool fans. We spend the past year trying to get rid of Brenda and as soon as macca delivers some positive news all we get is negativity about potential replacements makes me sick. Here's an idea if and when the change is made how about giving the new man a fair chance and get behind him. The club needs some positivity right now. And if it is de boer he's a serial winner albeit in a weaker league but before he was appointed koeman jol van basten and ten cate all failed to win the league with ajax. Not saying it will or should be him but seriously how many times have the eds said ancelloti and klopp are not viable options. Let's stop living in the past we haven't been seen as an attractive club since ragas exploits in Europe. We need to earn the right to get back there it ain't just going to happen

It's no different than when we are linked with a player, fans write them off before they've even signed or pulled the shirt on.
I do hope that if/when change is made that Carlo or Klopp come in, but whoever it is they should be given full support.

If FDB is the man does this mean that a DoF is also to be appointed? If so I wonder who's in frame for that?

2.) 03 Oct 2015 11:11:41
I think that's a tad unfair. Where the fans wrong 4 seasons ago when the questioned Rodgers appointment with his dossier? The fans still supported him but eventually it becomes clear that they were right. Heres a novel idea that works at most successful clubs. Hire the right man and sign the correct players then i can guarantee you that you will have a hell of a lot less fans bitching. After all with the money invested its to be expected! Right?

3.) 03 Oct 2015 11:52:48
After the failed experiment of an improven manager would FSG consider
CA - director of football
JK - head coach
FDR - assistant first team coach
Pulis - defence coach
lijinders - youth development/transition

Would this dream team guarantee the elusive Premiership title and make the fans happy ?

Or keep spending silly amounts in the transfer market

4.) 03 Oct 2015 12:26:41
Irish, I'm not saying fans were wrong, they have been proved correct. Many fans did support BR but many didn't and again the doubters have been proved 100% correct.

Most fans want Klopp, some are saying they don't want Carlo, don't want FDB etc so I'm guessing some fans will be disappointed if their choice doesn't take over.

Many fans were against us signing two of our current best players- Sturridge, Coutinio (amongst the obvious failures).

Rodgers was a divisive choice & following shortly after another divisive choice of Hodgson I do hope we get that quality manager we all want. it's only a shame that it's coming after Rodgers has blown £300 million & has taken us nowhere

5.) 03 Oct 2015 14:56:28
The thing is this is how all fans are regardless of who you support.

If say Chelsea had a lesser known manager than mourinho at present then I'm sure they'd be calling for his head , but because they have a proven manager they believe it will turn around.

Upto Xmas last year van gaal had similar stats to moyes yet no one was calling him out because again he's a proven manager.

Hi ed01 would like to pick your brains on a few things. One of the most worrying things for me now about rodgers is that due to the pressure he's under, he has stumbled upon a team, formation which has produced a few goals and looked better. What he will do now is stick with this team until we hit another rocky patch. The problem he has now is this will not include 60 million pounds worth of bent eke and firminio. He has no idea how to integrate them into the side and risks isolating new players like he did last season. The team will not be changed due to fear and ibe lallana will sit it out. Don't get too excited though the run won't last as he still insists on playing 3 at the back with can who got found out there last year and is still making mistakes. The good thing for supporters is the longer now he stays in the job the higher up the table we go, bad results return and he will be gone. My only wish is that when he does go we are still with a chance of top four and still with a chance in the cups. I can't get my head around his conspiracy theories either. Can a reporter not mention his failure last season and a mediocre start to this. The fact that everyone else is so poor this season is helping him. If we only had a decent coach we actually could have won the league this season. Thoughts ed

Redheaven

{Ed001's Note - My worry is his comments are getting increasingly asinine, with him quoting ridiculous stats about how many shots on goal we have had, while neglecting to mention the vast majority of them came from over 40 yards vs a League Two side. His constant denigration of the playing staff, past and present, in order to claim that his own failure was not actually due to him. I am sick of the constant buck passing he does. I support Liverpool FC and what is best for the club, he is not even close to being good for the club, let alone what is best for it. He has no tactical insight whatsoever, repeatedly fails to analysis the opposition or his own team effectively and still keeps spouting the same crap in press conferences lauding mediocrity.

He is the worst Liverpool manager of my lifetime, which included Souness and Hodgson, so it takes some doing to take that title. I am in full agreement with Souness on this being an idiotic appointment of a no mark manager (to paraphrase his recent comments on TV) that should never have happened.}

1.) 27 Sep 2015 13:26:29
But he nearly won the league, haha.
Can you imagine Shanks or Paisley saying that as a positive?
For me, the club doesn't look to have a plan or direction.
We continually buy players and then don't know where to play them. We continually change the team, formation and tactics more in hope than expectation.
And the captain of this rudderless ship is a bumbling idiot.
That NEARLY won the league, hahaha.

2.) 27 Sep 2015 13:31:44
I agree with Ed001.

A while back, some posters here argued that what Rodgers says (most of which is absolute BS) has no impact. But because of his constant BS, nobody now trusts him and the fans all see him as a disingenuous personality and that will have played a part in the supporters losing his trust.

3.) 27 Sep 2015 13:40:36
Couldn't have put it better myself Redheaven!

4.) 27 Sep 2015 14:13:19
Spot on, Ed! Don't know if he's the worst LFC manager in my lifetime but I will say he's the most disrespectful, dishonest and irresponsible manager in my lifetime. At least Roy had some honour and respect for the club and never said a bad word about us when he was unceremoniously but deservedly ousted. BR is a true piece of work. He would throw his own mum under the bus just save his image. Disgusting attitude!

5.) 27 Sep 2015 15:03:06
I don't think he is worse than Hodgson but he certainly runs him close.

6.) 27 Sep 2015 15:12:45
Hodgson is the only Liverpool manager ever that was genuinely scraping about in the bargain basement. His tactics were awful, no doubt about it but no one can argue with the lack of investment when he was in charge.

7.) 27 Sep 2015 16:19:21
Yeah I think in hindsight Irish Rover, you're probably right. Had Hodgson actually had a bit of money to play with, we have seen better signings instead of the likes of Konchesky, Poulsen and Jovanovic. Although I think I'm right in saying that Jovanovic was signed by Rafa on a free transfer before he was sacked? I remember being excited by that signing as I thought it was the guy who destroyed us in the champions league that season, Jovetic.

I still don't think that Hodgson was the right appointment though, he was never going to be a long term solution at Liverpool.

8.) 27 Sep 2015 16:28:03
Hi eds0001, did souness really say that about Rodgers? I remember him saying something about square pegs and round holes when talking about Rodgers use of players and their position.
Is Rodgers statement about the "conspiracy" include what souness said?

{Ed001's Note - I was paraphrasing, he was very scathing of FSG's decision to appoint a manager who had won nothing, especially to replace the greatest legend in the club's history.}

9.) 27 Sep 2015 20:18:11
Hodgson was never a Liverpool type manager but he is not a bad manager IMO. Remember he had no money to play with and awful owners who did more to ruin club than any manager including BR.

10.) 27 Sep 2015 22:15:47
Hodgson was an absolutely rubbish manager for LFC.

If you need proof, look at the season he was in charge.

First half of the season, 20-odd points, then Kenny came in and had the second best record in the league.

11.) 28 Sep 2015 01:22:12
You do realize ron that Rodgers has got less points than hodgson in their last 17 or 18 games i think with 200 timew the investment

12.) 28 Sep 2015 07:23:39
Reet, it's not the point I was making.
We've had people re-writing history saying Hodgson wasn't that bad and he had no money.
He was rubbish and the proof is there for all to see. You can only really compare like for like. Kenny had virtually the same squad he just changed Suarez and Carroll for Torres and Babel.

Hi Ed. Would you not say skrtel is likely to leave. I mean he is effectively fourth choice now with toure being the preferred bench option wince skrtel returned. With matip coming in skrtel will still be fourth choice. Personally I would like to see skrtel toure wisdom illori moved on with Lucas and Gomez able to deputise capably if needed.

Redheaven

{Ed002's Note - Skrtel is injured, Toure is cover. Gomez is far from useable as a centre back. This makes zippo sense.}

Sorry ed just to expand on this a little. I have watched the majority of our games and since end of nov time there has been a definite switch away from pressing tactics. We are now dropping off a lot more when other teams have possession. I would love if someone were able to give a detailed tactical analysis of us at the moment.

Redheaven

{Ed002's Note - Klopp let Gerrard in to the training sessions causing the players to get hyperactive waiting to get him to sign autographs and of course, as we all knew, results plummeted. That of course was not Klipperty's stupidity but the fault of Rodgers. Again as we all know. Now we are riding the "didn't have a pre-seaon to get them fit" excuse for the unacceptable performances - and "the players get too tired playing more than a game a week so they have to stay in bed and recover rather than train". In general terms the Liverpool fans find the results acceptable and justifiable because they cannot see that everyone is falling short. There is a certain futility in trying to explain what a chameleon looks like to a blind person.}
