Hi Eds,

As always fully appreciative of the time and effort you put in to keep us all in the loop.

Perhaps this has been covered before, but I just wondered - is this Sancho to Liverpool stuff all b*llocks or is there some truth in it?

Red_Jacko8

{Ed025's Note - he will not be going to liverpool jacko mate..

1.) 15 Jun 2021 17:46:09
Nice on Ed025 - appreciate the reply.

{Ed025's Note - no problem mate, i just wish the news was better mate..

2.) 15 Jun 2021 21:12:33
I feel sorry for Jadon Havertz on here. Named after two blokes who will never play for Liverpool. He must be distraught.

3.) 15 Jun 2021 21:56:46
Not too worried about Sancho.

May be a good player but not sure about him as a personality.

Think we can get better value elsewhere.

4.) 16 Jun 2021 09:57:50
I'm wondering whether to change my name to "Kylian Bellingham" ;-)

5.) 16 Jun 2021 10:08:17
Oh ders worse names VictorVaughanVaudevilleVillian😉.

6.) 16 Jun 2021 15:10:46
I’d say that even Victor Vaughan Vaudeville Villain has more chance of turning out in a Liverpool shirt than Jadon Sancho or Kai Havertz and his creator is dead. (If you know who MF DOOM is, you know) .

7.) 16 Jun 2021 16:13:47
Changing my name to Ousmane Ramsey.

8.) 16 Jun 2021 18:01:22
Havnt a breeze Victor. i have a feeling that's a good thing.

9.) 16 Jun 2021 18:23:27
Two more players who (in this case, thankfully) will never play for us Thunderbird.

10.) 16 Jun 2021 21:01:50
RIP MF DOOM.

Hi Eds,

As always thanks for your hard work.

Out of interest, with Emre Can's pending departure - I am wondering if Liverpool have a genuine interest in any Midfielders to fill his void - surely Milner and perhaps Lallana will want more football and seek pastures new at the seasons end, which would leave us with - Gini, Ox, Naby and Hendo to play in the middle of the park - I just wonder if Grujic will be looked at as a integral part of the first team squad or will we look seriously at the likes of Zielinski, Isco (a dream) etc. as I presume we were genuinely in for Goretzka, but he chose Bayern. Wondering if you know any other targets we may have in this area, if any at all.

Red_Jacko8

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are looking to add another midfield player as you suggest. Cabellos is of interest. I don't know what the plan is for Grujic.

I am not aware of any any approach by Liverpool for Jorginho, who is more defensive than Emre Can and might require a change of tactics from Klopp if Liverpool were to get the best out of him. There is long term interest in him from elsewhere in the Premier League.}

1.) 06 Mar 2018 19:26:46
I think at Milners age he could be quite happy at the role he has in our squad. He has played quite a bit and will not get any offers from a club at our level. Lallana has been injured so unless he has been told he won't play I don't see why he wouldn't. He was unbelievable last year and maybe our best player. He will only add to our pressing and attacking play when back fully fit.

2.) 06 Mar 2018 21:26:04
Since Christmas 2016 Lallana was either injured or poor. I think he has 1 goal in 15 months. Player of the season last year (not in the top 5).

Hi Eds,

As always appreciate your hard work - any truth in rumours Liverpool would look to sue Nike for the website mishap?

Red_Jacko8

{Ed001's Note - for what?}

06 Jan 2014 18:27:52
Hi Eds.
I'm becoming increasingly vexed at watching people post questions regarding rumours and then get angry when they don't get the answer they want. Absolute joke.
As true fan, I think we have come a long long way and could go even further with the right signings! Are we still in Fernando Reges of Porto? I think we lack bite and strength in the midfield!

Red_Jacko8

{Ed002's Note - There has been a little twist to the saga of Fernando. Fernando has recently become a Portuguese citizen and is desperately looking to force his way in to the national side in time for the World Cup. Whilst this eases a move to Italy where Inter and Fiorentina remain keen, the signing on fee asked of Fiorentina has come as a real shock to them. A number of other clubs have declared an interest and certainly Everton is one but I really don't know of confirmed interest from Liverpool - but it would make some sense. Porto would like to keep him if a deal can be agreed - and that might be back on the table now his citizenship has been confirmed. It has also been suggested that an option may still exist with the Brazilian side but it seems sitting on the bench for Brazil is less attractive right now.}

15 Nov 2013 02:11:20
Hi Eds. appreciate all your hard work! Have Liverpool got any interest in Juan Guillermo Cuadrado of Fiorentina and Colombia? I think he is one of around 5/6 really top top players in the Colombia squad and would solve our lack of experience and consistency in the wide areas! Thanks a lot! {Ed002's Note - There has been interest in him from elsewhere, but not Liverpool at this time.}

Just a rumour, so please don't kill the messenger.

Liverpool will not be making any more purchases this summer. We are renewing the contracts of the players we can see longevity with and also, are hoping to save considerable money from sales and a reluctance to buy this summer. in order to fund a huge move next summer. I know all of us LFC fans would love to see Mbappe donning the red shirt but it will actually be Haaland who we are targeting for next summer. hence why Liverpool are happy to sit back and watch Utd buy Sancho, City buy Kane/ Grealish. and Chelsea re-sign Lukaku. as next year we can offer Haaland a starting spot in our front 3.one of which will definitely be moving on within the next 12months or so. my guess is that it will be Sadio Mane.

Red_Jacko8

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath.}

1.) 04 Aug 2021 16:13:16
This wouldn't surprise me, TBH. Especially if reports like Shaq being allowed to leave for a relatively small fee to get his wages off the books are to be believed.

I wonder if we may see the odd cannot loan towards the end of the window? I have a niggling feeling we pay see Pipco back in a Liverpool shirt by the end of August - only on loan though.

That niggling feeling may also be last night's dinner, so please pay it no heed!

2.) 04 Aug 2021 16:24:07
Good advice Ed - holding your breath until next summer could be terminal ;)

3.) 04 Aug 2021 16:35:36
Haaland to Liverpool for next season is pie in sky stuff for so many reasons like we might not even make the CL places next season. But i do believe the we won't be purchasing and will be selling bit.

4.) 04 Aug 2021 16:52:22
Thiago is injured. Season hasn’t even started - haven’t replaced Gini…dejavu anyone?

5.) 04 Aug 2021 17:31:21
"dejavu anyone" - I sure someone has said that before?

6.) 04 Aug 2021 17:42:23
Haaland will never happen. You can bookmark this. I'd imagine the wage he'd want would be way out of our league. Not happening, no chance. 1 full pre season game played and already we're not making top 4. Give it a rest.

7.) 04 Aug 2021 17:49:29
TommySmith, standard. Now watch the ‘Keita will be like a new signing brigade’ tell us he’ll step up. Lols.

8.) 04 Aug 2021 18:22:33
Oh Mane Mane Who said we weren't making the top four? There is a difference between saying we "might not" get the top four and we are 100 percent not going to make the top four. Same as we might or might not win the league. Your pettiness is boring.

9.) 04 Aug 2021 18:43:14
Nearly as boring as your negativity on anything Liverpool related.

10.) 04 Aug 2021 20:51:06
Every team might not make the top 4 so why even say it?

11.) 05 Aug 2021 06:55:59
And if it is'nt Oh Mane Manes little sidekick Thunderbird. I said it because it's one of the reasons that Haaland might not join us in the future. Also why would I mention other teams when the original comment was solely about Liverpool not "every team"?

17 Jul 2021 10:59:24
Hi Ed's,

As always thank you for your hard work.

It's becoming increasingly frustrating to see teams signing players and Liverpool being completely stagnant. is it solely that we have zero money and must sell in order to buy? I complained earlier in the year that these actions from our owners are not conducive to allowing us to continually challenge. all of the ex-players who are now pundits have also been suggesting that the Liverpool of old, after being so successful would continue to strengthen and I just get to feeling everyone is strengthening and we are not, which is a worry - also still no Gini Wijnaldum replacement is extremely concerning.

Red_Jacko8

{Ed002's Note - Konate has signed. Liverpool are working on renewing contracts.}

1.) 17 Jul 2021 12:28:20
Give the club a break. The Euro’s have just finished and I imagine we’re working hard to conduct deals. If the transfer windows shuts and we’re still in the same position, I, like many, will share your sentiment.

2.) 17 Jul 2021 12:44:19
Original poster - Fabhino came out of the blue along with Jota, the transfer window is far from over.

3.) 17 Jul 2021 13:22:09
The transfer window is open for several weeks and the Euros have only just finished. Liverpool will not give daily updates on who they may sign.
You cannot complain that the club have failed to strengthen, when nobody knows if that is the case yet. Liverpool have already signed Konate and apart from Sancho, our rivals have done very little business too.

4.) 17 Jul 2021 15:01:46
Same convo every transfer window and it always ends well so have a little faith. repeating the same post again and again is tiresome for me, let alone the eds.

5.) 17 Jul 2021 15:06:04
To the best of my knowledge, only sancho to utd is confirmed, everyone else is still trying to make signings (of the top 4, I mean) . We signed konate early as a cb was our priority, and now we have to balance making sales with buying players. Nothing frustrating there.

{Ed002's Note - There have been a few others, but not many yet. Far more departures.}

6.) 17 Jul 2021 15:45:14
From what Ed002 has described (and correct me if i’m wrong) the chronological order of our itinerary seems to be as follows:

1) Contract renewals for Fabinho, Alisson and van Dijk
2) Sales of fringe players
3) Use funds raised to sign a centre forward who can cover the wings as well
4) See where we’re at with finances and use any remaining funds to sign a midfielder if possible

All of which i completely understand and as much as i want us to sign shiny new players, retaining and rewarding these lads who have given us so much will always be the top priority and rightly so.

{Ed002's Note - 2 and 1 can obviously be undertaken together.}

7.) 17 Jul 2021 15:56:44
just because we don't know what is going on behind the scenes doesn't mean the club is being completely stagnant. they aren't going to give a play by play of every conversation they are having. i'm sure they are all working extremely hard behind closed doors. we'll know something when the club wants us to know something.

8.) 17 Jul 2021 16:52:40
Transfer fever.
Who cares what other clubs are doing or how much they are spending?

9.) 17 Jul 2021 16:56:14
I can certainly see why you’d be frustrated, Liverpool have only signed one player when teams like City, Chelsea, Spurs and Everton haven’t signed any players, what a nightmare.

10.) 17 Jul 2021 19:18:21
Is Salah not on the list for contract renewals?

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

16 Jul 2021 10:53:33
Hi Ed's,

As always appreciate your hard work.

Nothing crazy, just wanted to note that it is absolutely laughable that the national media and even the Liverpool Echo have absolutely no idea and create stories with zero substance, like "Liverpool rekindle interest in Koulibaly" honestly, you Ed's are like our shining light for decent information. It's actually a joke reading the papers.

Red_Jacko8

1.) 16 Jul 2021 11:33:09
I just read that too, Red Jack - to the Echo's credit they do say "Given that Liverpool have already signed a centre-back in Ibrahima Konate, and turned down the chance to bring in Ozan Kabak for just £8.5m, this is a rumour we shouldn’t be reading too much into. "

However, they are a tabloid that relies on click bait, so they will want us to click through in order to generate more ad revenue for them. You can usually get to whether the rumour is worthwhile considering or not, but you do usually have to click through to the full article.

Accept them for what they are, think about their motivations, and then consider them accordingly, I would say.

2.) 16 Jul 2021 17:42:42
OP, a journalist named Dean Jones (not sure if he is reliable or not) said on a Utd fan’s podcast on YouTube that if all the clubs in the PL, Liverpool are like the Fort Knox when it comes to getting reliable transfer info or leaks. Nothing gets out so don’t bother, according to him.

This is why the lazy journos are obligated to either search for scraps to put a story together or literally make them up out of whole cloth. So if any fan on here, is peddling stuff from the journos then, it is an exercise in futility and you are wasting your time. I rely on the Ed’s and NOBODY else.

10 Jun 2021 22:10:44
This stuff with Gini Wijnaldum is really concerning - I have been saying for a long time that the current owners - albeit have heavily contributed to our successes have made some poor decision. the first and loudest being that an NBA player (Lebron James) has a stake in our club. is Lebron James bigger than LFC?! Second of all, they cannot afford this project, they are spending to expand the stadium etc to ensure Liverpool becomes more profitable yes, but also to ensure our value increases so that eventually they can sell us for billions as opposed to the mere £300mill they paid to acquire us. It's sad that we sit back and watch other clubs like Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd (Utd with all their supposed debt problems) happily go out and spend buckets loads. and we have to sell in order to raise funds to by. Really grateful for the job that the guys have done thus far, but these owners can not take us to the next level and that is to be consistently challenging for trophies. look at Chelsea - transfer ban is finished they sign top quality youngster who will naturally take time to gel, but immediately won the champions league. we are going to struggle to keep pace with these teams unless we buy top quality. Mo Salah cannot score all the goals himself. we need another attacker and let Bobby play in the 10 position.

Red_Jacko8

1.) 10 Jun 2021 22:24:04
OP, what does Gini leaving have to do with us not being competitive or not being able to sign young expensive players? What does LeBron have to do with this? Your post is baffling.

2.) 10 Jun 2021 22:26:49
Can't wait for 3 months of people moaning about what other clubs are in the transfer market. Let the good times roll.

{Ed0666's Note - it’s human nature to be jealous although there’s no way we’re gonna have a busy summer with regards to incomings. I’d say three at the most. Konate, a forward and a midfielder. Maybe one more if we sell Ox, keita and shaq.

3.) 10 Jun 2021 22:33:39
We didn’t do to bad last season!
Let them spend we will do fine like we have!
Thiago jota konate that’s 120m on 3 players!
How much will make u happy?

{Ed0666's Note - that’s what I say to my wife when she stops me watching the football.

4.) 10 Jun 2021 23:42:10
"Owners cannot take us to the next level" - what's the next level? Playing on the moon?

5.) 10 Jun 2021 23:47:22
Lebron have a stake, hence bigger than the club? What is that supposed to mean?

I really like the club sealing transfers even before market is open, like Konate and a few before. It might show that they are doing something - and I'm sure there are more - way way earlier. Which is good for me.

6.) 11 Jun 2021 00:11:04
I’m sure we’re the only club mentioned that’s bought a potential first team player.

7.) 10 Jun 2021 23:50:18
Do we honestly really need any more than those 3 Ed? If we get a replacement for Origi and for Wijnaldum then, with Elliott coming back to replace Shaqiri, we’ve got at least two good players competing for each position which is exactly what you want. My biggest gripe is that the forwards haven’t been doing the business but it looks as though with the way the market is this summer we’re going to have to stick rather than twist. What more are people seriously looking for? What is it they expect us to do? I sometimes wonder whether some people are more interested in transfers than the actual football.

{Ed0666's Note - transfers are like a rejuvenating shot of magic potion in the arm, who doesn't like a good transfer? I feel we need another midfielder as I think we’re one short of a winning midfield but I appreciate that’s subjective.

8.) 11 Jun 2021 02:42:20
I agree Ed - it’s midfield where we may get short with Keita always injured (and underperforming), Milner is Mr reliable and amazing but also getting on a bit, Ox injuries have really impacted his career and Jones with tons of potential but still learning his trade at the top of the game.

It’s a good bench in theory but one that would struggle to turn a game IMO, or able to cover if any of Fabinho, Thiago and Hendo get injured.

Ideally we’d move on Keita and Shaqiri and get in one star player.

9.) 11 Jun 2021 06:04:50
Didn't the very same owner back Brenda to the clif? We all know how that turn out. Would you allow your kids to spend money you don't have simply on the basis that the kids next door got new and shiny toys? I get your frustration but for George sakes when the need was there and the deal made sense the owners came through for us, very few team's can a pull a Madrid and field a starting 11 of Alis and Vvds with a bench bench Manes and Bobby.

Still don't get the Gini and James connection though.

10.) 11 Jun 2021 06:49:33
Really not sure what to make of this post. My knee jerk reaction it is ungrateful drivel.

Does it really matter if the owners are increasing the value of the club for a future sale? Its not mutually exclusive to results on the pitch and until this freak season, its hard to argue that they haven't been doing a good job.

P. S. chelsea won a CL under Roberto di matteo as a manager who came in mod-season. let's reserve judgement on Chelsea until they sustain some success like under Mourinho. Otherwise all they're doing is their more recent pattern of peaking for a new manager before they throw their toys out the cot and get him fired.

11.) 11 Jun 2021 07:21:42
Owners wanted to take us to the next level by joining ESL. Unfortunately the things you want can only happen if owners join ESL.
Also if you pick last four windows we have spent somewhere near half a billion on transfers.

12.) 11 Jun 2021 07:48:37
Odd post all round. like you had 3 ideas but got excited and shot your load! Lol. We need a forward and a creative midfielder imo. daka and the Italian lad from Roma should do it.

{Ed077's Note - I am starting to get a gut feel that Donyell Malen is going to have a good Euros and get a move from PSV, and Liverpool might be a good option for both parties.

Also Roma have a lot of Italian lads in their books😜🤣🤣. Which one do you mean? Lorenzo Pellegrini??

02 Sep 2020 09:44:29
Reading some of the comments following on from my post, people talking about me being negative and then saying negative things in regards to my opinion makes me laugh. All of you who watch football a lot should know that Jurgens titles winning team at Dortmund Had two years at the top - back to back league titles and a cl final.

then the Gegenpressing took a toll on their legs.. whoever does not believe that ever since the restart the team has looked leggy are just in denial. Don’t get me wrong. I WOULD LOVE TO BE DEAD WRONG ABOUT THIS. but I just feel we need some fresh faces. Ox and Naby are going in to their 3rd season.

surely by now they could have had a consistent run at being good. our midfield do not score or create so much because they are workhorses and I love them. but with that reliance on our front 3 any injuries and the back ups didn't strike fear in to any defenders bar maybe Everton’s who are diabolical.

Arsenal have shown twice how to stop Liverpool. by defending narrow and having two banks. we need alternatives. nobody is saying sign Sancho, Mbappe etc.. but we need more options in order to play different ways and not be so readable. Last game of the season against Chelsea we were so easy to open up, even though we won.

this year a lot of teams will be stronger, but we will be the same. People saying Tsimikas adds quality make me laugh.. this guy has been playing in a farmers league and you are comparing him to losing Lovren who plays a completely different position. if we could add Thiago and Sarr, then I think we will be fine and will run away with the league again.

these are two players who perhaps add some qualities that we lack in some respects. We can’t lose Gini just yet because Ox and Naby are too injury prone, Hendo can’t do all the running alone and Millie is on his last legs in terms of football at this level. We need another option like Thiago to sit alongside Fabinho and let us play 4231.. we have looked significantly below par last two games (Arsenal and Salzburg) and Arsenal have had less time on the training ground than us.

Red_Jacko8

1.) 02 Sep 2020 10:16:52
Ox and Maby have barely played.

That 2014-15 seasonnwas nothing to do with fatigue. They lost Lewandowski to Bayern, replaced him with a lemon in Immobile who also forced Aubameyang to play wide which wasnt a great fit for him. They lost reus to major injury and had to integrate Gundogan back from a long term injury. They had a terrible start to the season but climbed up from as low as 17 to finish 7th. So were won of the best performing teams for the second half. They won super cup and runners up in Pokal. At least try and make some sense when trying to draw a random conclusion bro!

Having said all, that, the team will need a refresh. They have that already with Keita, Minamino and new blood Jones. Others can happen over the next 3 windows including this one.

2.) 02 Sep 2020 10:58:47
Boom! Hahaha. That was a good one, Faith. Thank you!

3.) 02 Sep 2020 10:45:32
Cant disagree with anything you say there RedJack apart from I’d be surprised if we run away with it this season. Klopp realises we need fresh players also hence why he wants Thiago. Linders mentioned last season he had spent lockdown looking at how we can progress and improve / change things up also. Not sure why people on this site think wanting to continually improve is negative. We do need signings. Klopp wants signings. The players who won the league last year are legends and always will be and deserve all the credit in the world.

4.) 02 Sep 2020 11:48:26
A few points on the original point:

- We don’t play the same type of pressing that Klopp used at Dortmund. You may remember that he did at the start with us but this has been subtlety changed. Klopp now also pays far more attention to the fitness coaches and rotates accordingly.

- Kostas is from a team in a farmers league apparently and yet it was that team in the farmers league which knocked those tactical geniuses arsenal out of Europe.

- also claiming arsenal have showed the secret to beat us is ludicrous in the extreme. Sitting deep and narrow to stifle the attack and hitting on the counter or via mistakes isn’t exactly a new concept. It’s also not one that we alone struggle against. Hence why it’s used by every defensive and negative manager around.

- why do we need to move to a 4231? Why will that significantly change what we already do?

- irs preseason. There is very little meaningful you can ascertain from the last two games.

There is massive difference between continually evolving and changing for changes sake or simply because other people are getting stronger.

5.) 02 Sep 2020 12:18:25
You talk about OX and Kieta's injury records and goes on to claim we need Thiago lol. Our problem is at the back again. we are conceding goals one way or the other and we need a top-class center back to prevent it.

6.) 02 Sep 2020 13:23:15
Maybe we need both Tyrion and looks like Klopp thinks so too.

7.) 02 Sep 2020 13:58:51
When talking about Klopps final year at Dortmund, it's important to make note of the fact that they were statistically one of the unluckiest teams in history that year.

Most existing statistical models at the time had them in second.

8.) 02 Sep 2020 18:16:38
Spot on Alvy. It was these same stats that John Henry took into consideration before deciding to hire Klopp cos as we all know, he did not want Klopp for the exact reason of his last Dortmund season being pretty poor.

I think that is completely nonsense about whining etc. one thing Liverpool of old repeatedly did well when we were the best team around is build upon the team we had year after year. all of this people are whining and are ungrateful and know nothing about football is bollocks. We all watched the game on Saturday, arsenal played their second string team and hardly ever looked in trouble. we didn’t sign any players last summer and got Minamino in Jan who is never gna set the world alight. this is what is the problem with Liverpool, we have fans who lack perspective. we have to be thinking about tomorrow and the next game. the front 3 looked lacklustre and tired and the season hasn’t even begun, god forbid one of them gets injured for a serious amount of time I do not believe we have the capacity to deal with such an issue. It’s not whining saying we want to sign players, the club is ran really well and we have just come off of the back of winning important trophies. the biggest ones in fact. are you guys seriously trying to tell me everyone else can spend bar us!? Because we apparently have no money. sounds like Bollocks to me.

Red_Jacko8

{Ed001's Note - we all saw a friendly with neither team even close to fitness or playing at their best, weeks before the season starts, and only those who know f all about football draw conclusions based on it! You are just proving my point. Thank god Shanks is not here to see you spoilt cretins. What kind of tit is already slagging off Minamino? You are proving my point, clueless whines over nothing from people who have no idea about the sport at all. You know nothing about what Liverpool did in the past if you think what we are doing is different now. You should go and learn your history instead of spouting ignorant nonsense. If you bothered to learn, you would know that we would buy players to develop in the reserves, it was very rare a player came straight into the first team. Your whole post is bollox, could have just put that at the start and saved anyone the bother of reading the stupidity and entitlement oozing out of every word. You are so intent on whining you even lie about how we signed no one last summer to make it seem like you have a point. Just because you want to gob off doesn't mean you can just ignore Sepp van den Berg, Adrian and Andy Lonergan. One of them played an extremely important part in winning us the Premier League but you just are so disrespectful you dismiss him.}
