Good day Eds and Reds,

Just remembering a post by Waro a few days back where he mentioned the 5-0 victory over Brian Cloughs Nott Forest back in King Kenny's day; this made me very nostalgic as this was also for me one of the most amazing team displays I have ever witnessed. This alongside the Rafa CL final of 2005 are 2 of my favourite LFC displays for different reasons (there are loads more), but these 2 stick in my mind the most.

What are everyone else's?

The 5-4 against Norwich last season was top class.

2.) 04 Oct 2016 14:52:35
How about 4-3 against Dortmond? Breathe taking!

3.) 04 Oct 2016 15:04:31
5-0 at Arsenal under Rodgers. We were unstoppable, amazing to watch. Also loved the 3-3 win on pens in the FA Cup final. Stevie just took over the match.

4.) 04 Oct 2016 16:01:58
5-1 ^^. Couldn't of been that memorable lol.

5.) 04 Oct 2016 17:17:44
Wolves 1-3 Liverpool 1976, bunked of school to go, Steve Kindon scored for Wolves before Keegan, Toshack and Ray Kennedy for us to win league over QPR on goal difference, think if it was
Wolves win or draw upto 3-3 QPR would have won league,
Remember Gerry Francis and other QPR players watching in tv studio (way before live games) thinking they were going to win it until 3 late goals.

6.) 04 Oct 2016 17:10:50
February 91, FA Cup 5th round replay at Goodison Park. We lead 4 times, Beardsley 2, Rush and Barnes all great goals. But Everton kept coming back and equalising all scrappy goals mind. 2 days later Dalglish resigned! . Istanbul obviously, but that tends to make you forget about the amazing uefa cup final against Alaves in 2001, crazy game. Things just kept going our way in the run in that year was like a crest of a wave. Losing the League title at Anfield 2-0 against Arsenal with pretty much the last kick of the season is also memorable but for all the wrong reason's, was 11 at the time and still the only time I've cried over a result.

7.) 04 Oct 2016 17:25:46
the dortmund game last year and the CL final for me. The 5-1 against arsenal was also brilliant, didn't we score something like the first 4 in 20 mins or so? was crazy that one.

8.) 04 Oct 2016 17:46:58
thrashing spurs 5-0 and that goal and celebration from Flanagan was very special.

9.) 04 Oct 2016 17:55:47
You are all obviously too young to remember beating the blues twice at Wembley in the cup finals. They where truly historic days, Istanbul was also incredible.

10.) 04 Oct 2016 17:59:03
I grew up with a guy who played in that Forest 5-0 drubbing. Forest were our biggest rivals for everything at that stage, and they'd bloodied our noses a few times.
They were lucky it was only 5, probably the most breathtaking display I've seen from any Liverpool side ever.

11.) 04 Oct 2016 18:56:00
Istanbul - me and me mates drove there, were crushed at half-time, resurrected by full time and elated following the penalty shootout. Craziest game I;ve ever watched - that I was in the stadium, for a Champions League final watching my beloved Liverpool, and they managed to win it? Magic. I'll be telling kids and grandkids about it until i'm in the grave.

12.) 04 Oct 2016 19:49:18
3-2 against Everton, think 88? Aldridge, then Rush on as sub to bag 2.

13.) 04 Oct 2016 20:34:36
This will mean nothing to anyone else but a 2-1 home win against Leicester in September 2003 sticks in my mind. Pen from Owen and volley from Heskey. Night of passion in a hotel with the missus after the game and nine months later my lad was born. That, the 5-0 over Forest and the 5-4 over Alaves stick with me, as well as Istanbul obviously.

14.) 04 Oct 2016 22:19:08
Reading through some great memories there, mine is the 5_1 away at Arsenal only because I went to Liverpool supporters bar and my god the atmosphere was incredible, great attacking football fantastic fans.

15.) 04 Oct 2016 23:18:56
Unless we've done it twice, wasn't the 5-1 against Arsenal at Anfield?

For me, having been born in 1990 and never witnessed a title winning side, one of the best team performances we had was the 4-1 win at Old Trafford to keep our title hopes alive in 2008/ 09.

This was no average man united of the last few years.
They were top of the league with Ronaldo, Tevez, Rooney, Ferdinand, Vidic, all in their prime. and we utterly embarrassed them.

Coming four days after a 4-0 win against Real Madrid, that was a good week to be a Liverpool fan.

16.) 05 Oct 2016 01:11:51
Cheers Joe yes it was at home mate.

17.) 05 Oct 2016 07:12:27
1993 3 nil down to utd only to come back and draw 3 all ruddick eith yhe header!

18.) 05 Oct 2016 07:48:25
4-0 away to the mancs. Torres run VisiCalc ragged.

19.) 05 Oct 2016 10:43:19
1977 European Cup Final! I was so nervous watching game. Great team who should have won the FA Cup a few days before. I went from total despair to total jubilation in the space 4 days😀.

20.) 05 Oct 2016 13:04:20
4-0 away to the Mancs? Don't remember that 🤔.

21.) 05 Oct 2016 13:50:30
1977 European Cup Quarter Final second leg versus St Etienne. We won 3-1, after losing the first leg 1-0. Supersub, David Fairclough, scored the winner, with just six minutes remaining and the roof of the Kop blew off. The best game of football that I have ever seen and the loudest and best atmosphere that I ever experienced anywhere, let alone Anfield.

St Etienne were regarded as the best team in Europe, by most people, at the time, and after that victory, we truly dared to believe, rightly so as it turned out. Happy memories!

22.) 05 Oct 2016 14:10:14
Liverpool 7.0 Spurs 1978 I think

Best Liverpool team for me, quality throughout and one of the best team goals from Terry Mac

Great Memories.

23.) 05 Oct 2016 16:45:30
I think it was the 87 FA cup final against Everton when Rush scored 2 and Craig Johnson scored the other. and then Istanbul. 🏆🏆🏆.

24.) 05 Oct 2016 17:10:24
I remember that game Kloppite. St. Etienne was my favorite non-English team at the time, and it was one hell of a game. And then we went on to beat Borussia Moenchengladbach in the Final. That campaign was Liverpool's "coming out" party on the World stage, I guess.

Good Morning Fellow Reds,

This is a quick question for Ed01, and i hope you can indulge me. without getting too personal, how come you left Dubai mate? I am moving there permanently in Dec and it would have been good to catch up, (I am not a Harry-esque stalker, just a passionate Red :) ) . Anyway I hope your move to Spain goes well, and all is well after the break up.

Peace out
YNWA :)

{Ed001's Note - I haven't left yet, I go on the 4th. Simply down to money, rent is too expensive and being self employed I can't get a mortgage. Property is cheap to buy here and there are plenty of deals for places that you pay a large deposit and move in, then pay the rest while living there. The payments are much much much lower than renting, so I am intending to just save up a deposit and buy, as they do not require a mortgage. In fact, the payments are less for buying a one bed apartment than they are for renting a bed space. Staying with my parents for a few months and spending nothing will hopefully allow me to save up a deposit so I can come back at some point next year.}

Good day Fellow Eds and Reds,

Wow! I have always tried to remain positive, and am a great advocate of getting behind the team and the manager.

But seriously after last nights performance, I have been left speechless; it was nothing short of disgraceful, someone needs to tell Brendan that we are Liverpool Football Club. One of the greatest footballing institutions in the World; No disrespect to the following clubs, but we are not Reading and we are not Swansea. We are the mighty reds, 5 time winners of this very competition!!

(I remember Mick McCarthy doing something similar I think when he was at wolves against Man U quite a few years back; he admitted defeat before the game had even been played, justifying it by saying they would have lost anyway, and in doing so handing Man U 3 easy points.)

Only Real Madrid (10), AC (7), and Bayern Munuch (5); have the same European history and pedigree as us.

That you could embarrass us like this in the most elite club competition in the world is just pathetic; and the worst thing, celebrating a 1-0 loss!!! WTF, seriously???is this how low our stock has fallen??? How can you have such a defeatist attitude so early in the season! And how can some fans accept this mediocrity? Some of the posts below are just shocking! it seems we as fans are starting to accept mediocrity; May God rest their souls, but Sir Paisley and Sir Shanks would be turning in their graves at what is happening at the club at the moment.

How can we go from playing the breath taking football we played last year, to the drivel of steaming faeces we are witnessing this season? what has gone wrong?

Ed001 do you think Brendans off field antics are having a detrimental effect on his current illogical thinking?

Or do you think last season was a fluke due to the desire and tenacity of Suarez, and that Brendan is simply out of his depth? (sadly that is what I am feeling at the moment)

i would really appreciate a response.

Fuming at the moment!

Peace out!

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps it is time to be less of a flake and get away from all of this "we are Liverpool nonsense" and expecting teams to kowtow to some 40 year old nonsense. Makes you are laughing stock - and one that will eventually be left behind as others move on.}

Good Day fellow Eds and Reds,

Just to break the monotony of the current BR debate;

Ed001; how did your meeting with the infamous "man with a thousand aliases" Harry go?

Hi Harry,

dude if it was just 1 or 2 players it would be something, but each week you have a new target; this should tell you something. that given time and game time, a lot of players will improve and get better. shock, horror! who would think it aye! and sometimes a player will have an off game. shock, horror. It happens dude, and during these times we as LFC supporters support them to get them to their best.

dude enjoy the team, support the team, be a proper fan of the team and support them through thick and thin. and seriously just chill!

peace out
YNWA.

Dear Eds and Reds,

Salutations to all, This is just a very polite request to Harry.

Dude seriously, enjoy the current team, enjoy the wonderful football, enjoy being Top, enjoy all of the CURRENT LFC players giving their all and to the best of their abilities to get us to where we are. All you have been going on about is this player and that player, yes we may have weaknesses in certain parts of the team, but you know what even with this we are playing so well, why can't you just enjoy it without fawning over other teams players and "what if" scenarios of player x leaving for Accrington Stanley or Barcelona.

Enjoy the here and now dude and chill out! there is so much to enjoy with this team, they are a joy to watch and put a smile to not just LFC fans faces but now the neutral fans too! so many of my non-LFC supporting friends (except Manc and Everton) are drooling about the football we are playing at the moment.

Enjoy it dude!

Peace out
YNWA.
