Quick question for the eds. I know everyone wants to know about all the names we are linked with, but I would like to know has any team showed any serious interest in benteke? I thought after him clearly not being in our plans someone would be sniffing around by now. Thanks and keep up the good work Y. N. W. A.

Red-Socks

{Ed002's Note - NOthing serious.}

1.) 26 May 2016 14:45:51
Ok thanks. My worry is that as he is on a very good wage he may try to dig his heels in over a move as he still has years to run on that deal. I also think that could put off potential suitors.

2.) 26 May 2016 15:45:51
So ever player we sign . And only has 1 year to impress if not we sell them . Wow.

3.) 26 May 2016 16:45:57
It's not about impressing. He's clearly a talented player, but if he doesn't fit into the managers plans then thats, that.

4.) 26 May 2016 16:45:57

5.) 26 May 2016 17:10:02
If he impressed enough to force his way into those plans though. I know people say how much Klopp likes his team to press and all the rest but lewandowski is hardly the most mobile of players. Benteke can run, he's a professional footballer. I still think he would be a good option to have. He has completely lost his confidence but he showed early on in the season he can score goals for us, some crackers too. Also missed a bag full of sitters which for me shows he can get into the positions in this team. We know from his record he can score those.

6.) 26 May 2016 17:15:10
Don't worry too much Red Socks. It's bad for your health.

7.) 26 May 2016 18:41:05
Unless we get £25m or more I say keep him and coach him to become better, to play the way the manager wants him to. You don't need to buy success, you can create it.

8.) 26 May 2016 23:25:39
It's not about his talent, it's about his attitude and work ethic or lack thereof.

9.) 26 May 2016 19:50:44
Have you actually watched lewandowksi? You don't have to be a headless chicken to be effective. You need game sense and benteke has a while to go. He may prove us wrong but he doesn't show like he's got it.

A better comparison for benteke would be Lukaku, until he spat his dummy out. Similar stature but Lukaku much more mobile and effective. Benteke has got it he just doesn't know it yet, but it probably will need to be elsewhere to achieve his potential, as he's too lazy to fit into JKs program.

10.) 26 May 2016 20:25:34
Coach him to be better?
He's already a good player but doesn't fit into klopps style of play, you can't coach him that.

11.) 26 May 2016 20:41:39
Benteke become better? He was no different than he was at Villa. Everything was served on a plate for him over there. Now he has to actually has to get stuck in which has been non existent since the day he joined LFC.

The biggest mistake came when the club decided to make him one of our highest earners.

LFC are in a situation where they are going to have to make Benteke happy financially to leave for another club. It is a tough pill to swallow but one the club should take.

12.) 27 May 2016 03:49:04
Coach him up to be better? At what? He's been coached by Klopp for seven months every day arguably yet he's still poor and his attitude still stinks. If people like Benteke that much, maybe they should put up the cash to buy him from us so they can "coach him to get better" themselves as clearly Klopp is at his wits end.

Eds, do you think liverpool could make a surprise move for berahino in January? I know his attitude is not the best but he has undoubtedly got talent. If he gets a move and keeps his head down I think he could become a quality player.

Red-Socks

{Ed002's Note - Spurs may again push for a deal with Berahino this January and just may face competition from Newcastle. I am not aware of any approach by Liverpool.}

Anything in these 'Mkhitaryn fee agreed' rumours or is it just the usual tripe?
Waste of money if it is true. Thanks in advance

Red-Socks

{Ed001's Note - he has had a good start to the season so suddenly ridiculous rumours start, ignore them.}

Lots of reports out there sayin Liverpool have made contact with the agent of Reus and are trying there hardest to put a deal toghether.
Not saying it's true just reporting what I've seen/heard.

Just for bit of fun IF coutinho did leave this window who would you choose as his replacement? If we were to get £100 million I would go and offer it to spurs for dele alli.

Red-Socks

1.) 28 Jul 2017 04:48:26
I don't think you'd get Dele Alli for £100 million, I'd go for Isco, you could get him and still have a decent chunk of change left.

2.) 28 Jul 2017 05:03:04
Ousmane dembele is the only one who comes close.

3.) 28 Jul 2017 05:31:47
Is Chris Brunt available? Then we could spend the other 99.5m on a decent couple of defenders.

4.) 28 Jul 2017 05:40:30
Keita 😉.

5.) 28 Jul 2017 05:47:39
Lewandowski. See if he fancies banging a few of goals in for klopp again.

6.) 28 Jul 2017 06:26:00
Go and offer it to Juventus for Paolo Dybala. Not even the slightest chance that they'll even consider selling but since we are talking hypothetical, sure.

7.) 28 Jul 2017 07:40:55
to replace Coutinho, I would prioritize a Quick creative playmaker that can dribble in tight spaces.

Fabregas (though not the fastest of players, his creativity can be second to none. he should be relatively cheap and available since Conte doesn't rate him that much)

Isco (in terms of like for like technical abilities, he is the closest to Coutinho but Mardrid won't sell this summer)

ASENSIO (brilliant playmaker, with bags of potential, would be impossible to sign this summer)
Pjanic
Thomas Lemar
Coric.

8.) 28 Jul 2017 11:22:08
Ah, dele alli. Oh how I wish we pushed for him. I'd go for De bruyne.

is it me or does every question people ask about potential signings just get shot down immediately? at this rate were looking at no one and if we are they're no good lol.

Red-Socks

1.) 25 Mar 2017 09:22:21
It's just you.

2.) 25 Mar 2017 09:58:24
A lot if the time people are not even asking about players we are rumoured to want. They are just plucking a name from their career mode on FIFA and sending in "any interest in this guy" posts.

It fills the page with rubbish and wastes everyone time.

I do agree though, it is shocking how people just abuse players we are actually interested in. Nothing wrong with doubts, constructive criticism etc. Done people have clearly never watched these players though judging by their posts and it usually just descends to vitriol or continuous slagging off on here.

3.) 25 Mar 2017 12:49:31
There's a difference between asking about a potential signing and asking about Messi signing, or his neighbors nephew who is 8 years old signing 12 years from now.

4.) 26 Mar 2017 10:05:20
Agree! Some people ask some rubbish, a random name they see late on tv one night and get MOTD fever. Annoys me too, often makes we wonder the age and mindset of some fans.

Anyone know what the score with the rhyl freindly on Groupon? Says its on while the squad are in the usa. Is this a reserve freindly or something?

Red-Socks

1.) 22 Jul 2016 12:19:31
Yeah it will be most of the U23 squad.

2.) 22 Jul 2016 13:39:13
Rhyls end will be full of blue noses I imagine.

I would just like to say Lallana was quality again last night and is now showing he can be part of future plans. Great team performance. Same again next week. Y. N. W. A.

Red-Socks

1.) 11 Mar 2016 07:45:25
I wonder if its due to his extended run in the side, his own confidence or the confidence in those around him (or all three) - but he's come on leaps and bounds lately.

2.) 11 Mar 2016 11:06:57
I've always liked him but he occasionally looked lost when the team wasn't playing well as he tended to put his head down and run into dead ends. with movement around him and him getting used to Firmino an co. he's head up, releasing the ball earlier and creating havoc.

The man is everywhere at once sometimes.

I also think his finishing is underrated, he scored some smartly taken goals and had some cracking shots saved. I get the sense he could well go on a run at some point like Firmino has.

Im not having a go at the eds mate far from it as i love this site, but they are not right 100% of the time as im sure they will agree. The site is great for information but just cause an ed says it it also doesn't mean its gospel. No offence intended to anyone.

Red-Socks

{Ed025's Note - your right red socks...take me for example...im only right 99.9999% of the time mate.. :)

Id just like to say that I'm currently working with a gang of geordies 3 of which are season ticket holders. Non had a bad word to say about him, very good player who they all think will thrive at Liverpool. As for second Hal of season they didn't blame him at all. They said there were players a lot worse than him, with janmaat takin a lot of the stick.

Totally agree. I think we all know that he is undoubtedly talented.
Also if we can keep coutinho and firmino I think its a pretty exciting looking 3. Keep lallana, Milner as back up. Along with matip, grujic, karius and potentially chilwell if we van move on a few I'd say its a pretty good transfer window. Y. N. W. A.
